Chapter 2160 The Ultimate Paradox
Chapter 2160 The Ultimate Paradox
She leaned back slightly, letting wings of shadows rise behind her that settled her form in a way that it appeared as if she was resting on darkness.
“Old Light, my father, believes the answer to everything is more burning… brighter… hotter. Until nothing remains that can hide or resist. He thinks serenity is the enemy because it dims his light. But I have died, Eos, and I have been brought back from death by your hand, and death gave me the chance to walk in places where pure light casts no contrast. Where everything is revealed, and therefore nothing truly is. Pure illumination flattens the world. It turns mysteries into facts, fears into ash, beauty into mere visibility. There is no depth without darkness. No choice without the possibility of concealment.” She paused and looked at him, “No intimacy without something that must be gently uncovered.”
Eos heard something in her voice, and he looked at Eva more deeply, and then he smiled, “For that alone, you became the Primordial of Revelations?”
Eva smiled and shook her head, “No, there is more. I could have taken the mantle when you gave it to me and become the next searing sovereign, shedding every shadow like dead skin. But what would that make me? Another echo of relentless blaze, climbing towers only to burn them down, never learning why the quiet calls to some. The path of the New Primordials is the correct decision, as I believe that only you should carry the mantle of Existence, and the ancient path cannot be controlled by anyone else.”
She brought up both hands, on the left was darkness and on the right was light, “I see this darkness as a necessary counterweight to light, because without it, I don’t think I will be able to guard the places light refuses to look at. I remember the stories that only thrive in half-light, the secrets, the doubts, the tender uncertainties that make existence worth the fight. Without me, my father’s fire would eventually consume everything, including itself, until only sterile, perfect brightness remains.”
Rowan listened, his prismatic eyes softening at the edges, “You became revelations to preserve the intensity of my light.”
Eva cocked her head to the side as if she was assessing his words, “Hmm, but there is something else,” she said, lowering her voice until it was barely louder than the breathing of an ant. “When I died, there in the deepest shadows, I found something that the pure light has never touched: the freedom to choose illumination rather than be born into it. Every time I wield shadow against this facade of Existence that we fight against, I am not rejecting light… I am choosing it, but that choice is on my own terms. I think it keeps me honest. It keeps me… me.”
She reached out a delicate thread of living darkness that extended from her fingertip to brush lightly against Rowan’s hand.
Rowan let out a slow breath, the sound like galaxies settling after a collision. A small, rare smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
“I think I understand now,” he murmured, and this understanding was echoed by Primordial Light. It was funny that even as the most powerful Primordial of Light that had ever existed, he still found a way to learn from a being who refused the power of light.
He knew what he needed to do now, and he sent a final message into the void, perhaps it would be heard by Eos, or perhaps it would not.
The message resembled a butterfly, and it vanished into the void as Primordial Light made the final sacrifice to ensure their victory. Seeing that Luminous Silence was tearing itself apart to deny its definitions, Rowan did the one thing it had never done… he surrendered his nature as the revealer.
Eva had left the mantle of the Lady of Shadows behind, and he had just taken it to become the keeper of secrets, and it was in this darkness that he found the secret of the true name of Luminous Silence.
«ŠĪ-LAḪ…ŠĪ-LAḪ-UM BA-ḪAR-RU…KŪL-RA ba-nu.»
This was the name that was whispered by his creator to become Luminious Silence, and Luminious Silence was almost shocked by the depths and the power of this name, knowing that there were mysteries that had subtly exceeded the ninth dimensional level inside this name.
And yet the fact remains that reaching the fifth layer of Origin had granted Primordial Light the power that exceeded the ninth-dimensional level.
He wished he had more time to explore the mysteries behind this name, but he would have to leave it for his main body to discover. He did not need to understand everything about the name for him to know how to break it.
Primordial Light gathered every definition that had been forced upon Luminious Silence, which had been sliced off from the main sphere of silence, and he sealed them within his own collapsing form.
All of these strands of definition infected the name of Luminious Silence, transforming it into something that it was not.
“I will not let you win,” Primordial Light whispered as his form began to blaze with the stolen, contradictory names, accelerating his demise, but this step was necessary even if it killed his light faster. “I will become the vault! I will become the definition!”
If Primordial Light had just unleashed this definition towards the sphere of silence, then the Luminious would simply slice off that part of himself with this corruption, and so he had to ensure that this change was being accelerated inside his body, hiding the true killing blow away from the senses of Luminious Silence, who was luxuriating on the fact that he was nearly victorious.
Primordial Light looked at Luminious Silence, and his conceptual form was no longer as massive as before after cutting away nearly seventy percent of his form.
The Luminious was nearly free, and Primordial Light turned around and looked into the distance at Prime, who was watching this entire battle with shock in his gaze, ‘Ah, this is the reason I fight, for the existence of miracles like this. An entire new lifeform, born from my blood… my children… my pride.’
He turned away to watch his enemy, waiting… and his chance arrived. Luminious Silence had cut away the surface of himself, and for a brief moment, his core was exposed, and Primordial Light did not miss that moment.
He hurled himself into the epicenter of his inward-turning silence. His body was now an ultimate paradox, becoming the concept of Revelation plunging itself into the heart of Absolute Silence.
The collision led to the collapse of this layer of the Eternal Tower.
