Chapter 1866: What Are The Primordials

Maybe a battle would not happen, and Death and the Primordials had an arrangement that both would find mutually beneficial, Eos could not tell. To a degree, it was now impossible to predict the actions of the Primordials; however, Eos knew that for the Primordials to be able to deceive him fully, they had to also open themselves to him.

The Primordials had played a dangerous game, one where only preparation and a great deal of luck had aided them in succeeding. They might have prepared for his arrival for a long time, but Eos had not been an easy mark.

There were many ways that their plans could have gone sideways, and it did, many times in the past, but their control over Fate and Destiny was such that even though Eos fought against their intrusion over his life, they were still able to largely steer him towards their purpose and it was all the evidence Rowan needed to know that he did not truly understand all the essence of the higher dimensional system.

He had previously asked himself the reason for the Primordials bringing the ability to cultivate immortality inside a Reality that they wanted to devour.

They had made so many sacrifices to make it possible, including shattering their own bodies to be used as a foundation for this power, and so many other sacrifices.

Of course, the Primordials made sure he could find various answers to this question; they had even slowly revealed the truth to him when he discovered that the many changes across Reality were just to prepare Eos for an important task in the future.

With Eosah, they had brought him to a doorway, telling him it contained the power beyond Origin, and he might be the key to unlock that power.

Eos sighed as he looked deep into Limbo, his eyes filled with the burden of understanding. So many truths were revealed to him, and yet these truths were wrapped in lies and misdirections.

With everything that had happened, Eos decided at this moment to broadly pursue two courses of action. The first was that he would be taking on the task of watching over Reality and tackling the problems involving the higher dimension with his Incarnation, Rowan.

Despite the uselessness of killing the last three Primordial Memories left in Reality, Rowan would kill them and would try as much as possible to wipe any presence of the Primordials inside Eosah’s Reality. They would be expecting him to do such a thing, and Eos did not see any reason not to oblige them.

He doubted he would be able to cleanse Eosah’s Reality of the Primordials in their entirety, which would require him to kill every single living being inside of Eosah’s Reality, and even then, he could not be assured that this step would be enough.

Nevertheless, it would be of some benefit in the future. The Primordials might have surprised him, but Eos did not look down on his abilities, knowing fully well that the Primordials had also been desperate; he had been slowly getting closer to discovering the truth about them and their powers, and if they had not taken great risks, they would have failed.

Eos could respect their conviction, even though they were enemies. He was not dumb enough to ignore the sides of the Primordials that he could emulate. In life, the best teachers were most likely your enemies, and the most significant change that could affect the life of a man would most likely come from pain.

The second task he would pursue would be to focus solely on his Origin Essence and use it as a basis for building a new power system from the ground up. This was a massive undertaking so difficult that Eos made it a long-term affair, and it was the primary reason he created the Elythrii and gave them the potential to search for their destiny.

However, because his path to power had been largely set, Eos did not fully pursue the path of Origin in the past; it was seen as one of the many experiments he was maintaining at any given time.

Now, Eos would be making exploring his Origin Power his priority, because he knew that this was one of the few abilities he possessed that were not understood by the Primordials. It would not be an easy road; it meant redefining everything he knew about power as he created something new, with no assurance that it would be able to match the Primordials in combat or in any other metrics that mattered.

It would have to work; Eos had no choice but to make it possible. He sighed once more as he checked the tools available to him. Telmus’s ascension to the first layer of his Origin as a Primordial had given Eos the power of Origin Essence. Previously, he had wished to use this essence to power the growth of his body to the ninth dimension, but he was no longer following this path.

The path of the dimensions might be the most complete path in existence, and it may be foolish for Eos to abandon a sure path to power for something new and untested with an unknown future, but he had met the Primordials, and Eos had seen the end of this path.

He had set down his pride and admitted to himself that the Primordials were the true masters of the higher dimension, and if he were going to win against them using this power, it would only be because he had a more robust foundation; essentially, he would win only if he had a bigger fist.

This plan would have worked if he were fighting the previous versions of the Primordials, who were undoubtedly powerful, but still restrained, not these new Primordials. Their foundation would grow faster than he could match, and their array of powers would only explode in complexity faster than Eos would be able to evolve.

Giving his Incarnation the task to thoroughly understand the path of the dimensions was not just to see all the places where the Primoridals may have hidden from him, but it was also to understand the Primoridals as well.

Eos realized that he needed to ask this question again… What are the Primordials?

In the field of bones, sixty-two million Cosmic Eras ago, the Incarnation of Rowan was asking the boy this exact question, “What are the Primordials?”

The boy, who had been quiet all this time as Rowan watched the events that happened with the Primordials and saw that they were now free, the words that Nyxara had told his main body, and the year Eos had spent drifting in pain, slowly turned his gaze toward Rowan as he dismissed the vision.

“That is an easy question to answer and is among the most difficult for me to tell you, mostly because doing so would corrupt the knowledge I give you. Still this question is extremely important to you… so dont fear Rowan, for the solution is before you…” gesturing grandly the boy pointed to the field of bones, “Your answer lies there. you know I had expected you ask me what the hunger you ate signified.”
