Chapter 1698: The Invisible Noose
Chapter 1698: The Invisible Noose
Rowan rested for a while, even for him, the pain of losing a part of your soul permanently was severe. He had lost a part of his soul but for him this loss was acceptable, because he could grow his soul faster and better than anyone else, and Rowan suspected that it would not matter how much he ended up damaging his soul, if he could evolve his dimensional soul as he just did his flesh, then he could rebuild his soul back from nothing.
Not everyone was like him. From a mortal, he had been able to ascend to a god, an Empyrean, a Celestial Creator, a Nascent Primordial, a dimension, and now he was an Apex Omniversal Titan whose evolution was still ongoing, who was slowly becoming a Reality.
For most in all of existence, the most significant change they would ever see was a mortal becoming a god, but for a god to become anything else was almost impossible, after all, they were immortal. Yet it would seem that for Rowan, the higher in the ladder of existence he got, the quicker he was able to ascend and change.
His ascension was not a simple affair, as he became nearly indistinguishable from what he had previously been; this included his soul and body.
So, using this technique was dangerous, incredibly so, but if he could keep even a shred of his soul alive and find a way to ascend, he would arise from nothing like a phoenix.
Rowan could not complete more tests with this technique inside of this space; it was already on the verge of destruction, and time was running out faster than it should.
The cracks were slowly devouring the laws of time and space inside, and instead of having 3.2 million years of time, he was down to a million. Still, Rowan did not regret testing out this technique; with it, he had his ultimate weapon, and half of the reason for his ascension was complete.
There was one last fusion to be made, and Rowan left this for last because it might bring up unexpected changes.
His Bloodline Ability fused with his Dimensional Fabrics Skills, which was a combination that Rowan was greatly looking forward to.
Some of his most powerful abilities were here, and Rowan would not have been willing to proceed with this fusion if he had not seen the result of the first three.
There were so many essential abilities that were here that defined who he was that it was almost scary for him to let them go, but change was inevitable.
A million years were left, and he could not waste more time; he looked at the page of the Primordial Record.
His last Bloodline Ability was Purgatory Gate, and it was essential for his plans in the future for his children, without it, then the difficulty of converting his children into the path of Origin would be countless times harder, if not impossible, and there was a great chance he might lose a portion of this skill in the fusion, but recent events made it necessary for him to change his bloodline skills, and it was all because of Primordial Soul.
That entity had been in the dark for so long, and she knew him better than any other Primordial. Since the knowledge that she had been out of Oblivion for a long time, Rowan had the feeling of an invisible noose tied around his neck, and with every passing moment, it was getting tighter.
Everything he had, except his consciousness and the Primordial Record, was at risk; even his Origin Land was not safe from her.
If the Primordials were able to get to his dimensional flesh using his Angels, then if Primordial Soul wanted to get to his Origin Land, then she would need his children, and the question Rowan needed to ask himself was why was she waiting?
More than anyone else, she must be aware of how quickly he could grow stronger, and if she was wrong about his progress, it might not be by much. Rowan did not have the time to delay, as he could have done with any other Primordial; he needed to hunt her down and kill her.
Rowan had returned here for his ascension because he knew he needed the tools to kill a Primordial, and to do that, he needed to sacrifice the Purgatory Gate… So many of his children were already lost to him; how much more can he sacrifice?
None!
Primordial Soul was going to be a problem, and if he could not kill her when she was sleeping, he would have to look into her eyes as he did it.
His Dimensional Skills were just as important to him. Dimension Engine from Minor, Major, and Supreme was already completed and was a part of his dimension, and then there was the Dimensional Absolute Skill, Breath of Enoch; he still had two breaths that were unused.
The range of his dimensional skills extended to his Dimensional Fabric Skills, which included Astrolabe, Knowledge Well, and Hollow Forge.
Rowan could not begin to analyze how deeply these three fabric skills had helped him bridge the gap against higher-dimensional entities when he was weaker.
A lot of his achievements were tied to them, and now it would seem it was time to let go of it all and push for the next level in his ascension.
Rowan adjusted his body, his invulnerable skin pushing against the countless cracks in space around him, and they all broke against his skin.
“Primordial Record, dig deep for this one, give me something that would break everything. I… I need it.”
The black book was silent, but it responded to Rowan without delay, and Rowan groaned and clutched his chest as relentless waves of pain tore through his body, as the Primordial Record tore all of these abilities from his body and soul and began fusing them.
There was no words to describe the pain he was experiencing at this moment, but Rowan was silent, in his mind was the memory of his life, from the time he woke up in a room full of corpses who all wore his face in the body of a child, all the way till he found himself here, and he could not help but ask himself, how many times was Primordial Soul there with him.
How long had she watched him make mistakes and make progress, and why would she risk revealing herself at this moment if she was not fully prepared to commit?
