The Primordial Devourer : Rise of a nobody
Chapter 68: game 2
The angel screamed in agony as the darkness spread throughout his body.
I watched him carefully, observing the changes.
At first, the light energy surrounding him had been trying to repair his injuries. However, the moment my darkness entered his body, his regeneration stopped completely.
“Oh?”
My eyes narrowed with interest.
So this is what happens when darkness enters his body.
That was an interesting discovery. His regeneration had been working perfectly fine before, but now he couldn’t even heal his wounds.
Unfortunately for him, I had no reason to let him live.
I raised my blade, preparing to deliver the final blow.
“Please! Don’t kill me! I’ll give you anything!”
The angel’s terrified voice stopped my movement.
My blade halted in midair, just before it could reach him.
I looked at him for a moment.
“Anything?”
He immediately nodded.
“Yes! Anything! Just spare my life!”
A smile appeared on my face.
“All right. If you can give me what I want, I’ll let you go.”
The angel’s expression relaxed slightly, and he seemed ready to breathe a sigh of relief.
Unfortunately for him, I wasn’t finished speaking.
A curved knife formed in my hand as my slime transformed. Unlike before, this time the weapon was coated in darkness, its blade carrying a sinister aura.
I placed it against his neck.
The angel froze.
Cold sweat began running down his face as he stared at me.
I looked directly into his eyes, my expression turning completely cold.
“But if you can’t give me what I want, then get ready to die. I have no use for useless people.”
He swallowed nervously.
“What… what do you need? Even if I don’t have it right now, I’ll do my best to get it for you!”
I grinned.
“That’s the spirit!”
The angel looked at me expectantly, waiting for me to reveal my demand.
I leaned closer.
“I want the Elven Tear.”
“Huh?”
He blinked.
I suddenly remembered something and turned toward Nyx.
“Hey, Nyx. Is the Elven Tear the name of that thing you want?”
Nyx’s eyes twitched.
“Yes, Asher. That’s exactly what it is.”
I nodded in understanding before turning back toward the angel.
My expression immediately returned to its previous coldness.
“Yeah. I want the Elven Tear, the item that can cure everything.”
The angel stared at me.
His eyes twitched as he tried to process how quickly my expression had changed.
One moment, I had been threatening to kill him, and the next, I was casually asking someone else to confirm the name of the item I wanted.
Apparently, he hadn’t expected his life to depend on such a ridiculous conversation.
Still, he quickly nodded.
“Currently, I don’t have it. However, I can make preparations for you to obtain it.”
I considered his words for a moment.
Then I slightly lowered the knife against his neck.
“Hmm. That’s more like it.”
The angel finally looked as though he could breathe again.
However, before he could relax completely, I continued speaking.
“But remember something. If you ever think about backstabbing me, think twice before doing it.”
I grinned at him.
“I hold a massive grudge, you know.”
His expression stiffened.
“If you cross me, you’ll wish you were dead, but I won’t let you die so easily.”
Cold sweat dripped down his face.
He quickly nodded.
“I understand! I won’t betray you!”
“Good.”
Satisfied with his answer, I finally moved the knife away from his neck.
The angel immediately recalled his remaining allies.
I watched as they gathered around him, unable to hide the amused expression on my face.
Hmm. Being powerful really is amazing.
Just a moment ago, this guy had been threatening to kill me. Now, he was practically begging for his life and promising to help me obtain the item I wanted.
It was a wonderful feeling.
I turned around and started making my way back toward the throne.
However, before leaving, I wasn’t foolish enough to let my new helper walk away freely.
Darkness spread from my body, forming several vines that wrapped around the angel.
I tightened them around him and dragged him along as I returned to the throne.
The other winged men immediately noticed that their leader had been captured.
Their expressions changed.
Without wasting another second, they fled in different directions like flies.
I watched them leave with a satisfied smile.
Look at that. Their leader gets captured, and the rest immediately run away.
How disappointing.
I had expected a little more loyalty from them.
Meanwhile, Nyx returned after killing several of the angels who had attacked her.
She approached us, her expression calm despite the battle that had just taken place.
Azera, who had been sitting on the throne, saw us returning and immediately tried to get up.
Unfortunately for her, I wasn’t going to allow that.
Darkness spread toward her, forming vines that quickly tied her to the throne.
“Hey! Don’t move!”
Azera’s eyes widened.
“What are you doing?!”
I looked at her seriously.
“Don’t you dare ruin my chance to get my reward!”
Her expression became one of disbelief.
“Are you serious right now?!”
“Of course I’m serious!”
I crossed my arms.
“Who knows? What if the match isn’t over yet? What if they say the match doesn’t count because the chicken is still alive, and then we lose?”
Azera’s face filled with black lines.
“That’s ridiculous!”
“Ridiculous or not, I’m not taking any chances.”
After all, I had already gone through the trouble of capturing the angel and making him promise to help me obtain the Elven Tear.
I wasn’t going to throw away our potential reward because someone decided to get off the throne at the wrong moment.
Nyx arrived beside us and glanced at the bound Azera.
Then she looked at me.
“Asher is right. We can’t be certain that we’ve won yet.”
Azera turned toward her in disbelief.
“You’re agreeing with him?!”
Nyx simply shrugged.
“We should wait until the system confirms the result.”
I nodded approvingly.
“See? Nyx understands me.”
Azera looked as though she wanted to argue, but before she could say anything else, a system message appeared.
[The Angel Group has lost.]
I stared at the notification.
Then a grin spread across my face.
“See? We won!”
I immediately looked toward Azera.
“And look! You stayed on the throne, just as I told you!”
Azera’s eyes twitched so violently that I wondered whether they might start smoking.
“Untie me!”
I laughed and finally released the darkness holding her to the throne.
However, before we could celebrate properly, another barrier appeared.
My smile faded slightly.
Hmm? What’s this now?
Before I could examine the situation further, a figure flew toward Nyx at incredible speed.
My eyes narrowed.
The moment I saw the direction of the attack, I moved.
Space itself responded to my will.
In an instant, I crossed the distance between us and struck the attacker with overwhelming force.
His head exploded into pieces.
However, I didn’t stop there.
I kicked his broken body, sending it flying toward the other members of his group.
The corpse crashed into them, interrupting their movement and making them immediately turn toward me in anger.
I looked at the group before us.
Vampires.
Another race had appeared.
I couldn’t help smiling.
Seriously, how many races are there in this Tower?
Still, there was no time to wonder about that.
I glanced toward the angel I had captured earlier and pointed toward Azera.
“Hey, you. Hide beside the dragon girl over there.”
The angel stared at me with terror in his eyes.
After seeing what I had done to the vampire who attacked Nyx, he apparently decided that staying close to Azera was the safest option available.
He quickly moved toward her.
I turned back toward the vampires.
Nyx had already joined me, ice spreading from her body as she prepared to fight.
I summoned two identical claws from my slime, gripping them as I faced our new opponents.
The vampires stood before us in considerable numbers.
I examined them briefly, then tightened my grip on my weapons.
They have numbers, and we have power.
A grin slowly appeared on my face.
Well, if they wanted to fight, I certainly wasn’t going to disappoint them.
I rushed forward with my claws ready, while Nyx advanced beside me, ice gathering around her as we charged into the enemy ranks.
Then a powerful percent i fell as a vampire came from the middle of them she has raven black hair and blood red eyes.
She look at the carnage happened here she know they don’t have a chance so she ask “humen aren’t you afraid vampire queen come after you.”
I just look at her “huh but i already have a girlfriend so i have to refuse sorry.”
I stay to my decision i ain’t a cheater.
The vampire girl who Introduc queen flabbergasted thinking ‘what the hell this human mumbling about.’
Her eyes twitch so hard as she cluch her sword tightly ready kill me.
But someone stop her.
