The Plant Master Becomes A Mute Sub-Beast: Farming And Laying Eggs
Chapter 288: Grape Cream Cake
The consequence of the kiss was almost burning the pan of vegetables. Kaelen could not help but scold Sane a few times, then dragged him by the collar to make the cake.
The other day, a farmer’s family brought a few pounds of home-grown purple grapes as a gift to the City Hall. Grapes in this place used to be very sour. People mainly used them to make vinegar and wine; rarely anyone ate them directly.
In fact, whether grapes are sweet or not depends on whether they are properly cared for during the stage when they are about to ripen and change color.
Kaelen had spent quite some effort guiding them. He showed the farmers how to sprinkle potassium-rich kitchen ash at the base of the tree when the fruits started to change color, while strictly limiting water. Cutting back on watering for two to three weeks before harvest was the vital key to forcing the tree not to absorb more water that would dilute the flavor, compelling them to concentrate all the accumulated sugar into the fruits.
Not only that, Kaelen also personally went down to the garden to show them how to prune the old leaves obscuring the view, making room for direct sunlight to caress and darken every heavy cluster of grapes.
Thanks to thoroughly applying those unfamiliar yet effective agricultural methods of the Lord Holy Son, the basket of grapes placed on the kitchen counter now possessed a beautiful dark purple color. The plump skin was covered with a thin layer of white bloom. A bite yielded a sweet, refreshing juice oozing out on the tip of the tongue, completely banishing the tartness of the wild grape variety from before.
Kaelen meticulously peeled the skin, removed the seeds, retaining the succulent flesh to simmer with a bit of sugar into a thick jam layer.
While Kaelen simmered the jam, Sane took charge of whipping the egg whites. The handheld egg beater Kaelen brought along was a magic stone-powered machine Cassian made exclusively for him.
Actually, Kaelen did not need to use machines; he could use Divine Energy instead. But Cassian still remembered that previously, before his memories awakened, Kaelen used to wish for magic stone-powered machines. So he painstakingly researched magic stone-powered machines for him.
Naturally, Kaelen could not bear to reject Cassian’s kindness, so he accepted however much he gave.
Three egg whites were beaten until foamy. Sane added a few drops of lemon juice and continued whipping. He only stopped when the egg whites were whipped to the point of forming stiff peaks when lifted.
Kaelen had finished simmering the jam. While waiting for the jam to cool, he started making the cake base.
First, he sifted the flour finely, stirring steadily with egg yolks, a bit of fresh milk, and cooking oil until the mixture combined into a thick, golden ribbon.
At this point, he took the bowl of cloud-like fluffy egg whites that Sane had just finished whipping, dividing it into three portions. Holding the flat spatula in his hand, his movements were extremely gentle yet decisive, folding the mixture from the bottom up to mix evenly. This technique helped the tiny air bubbles Sane had painstakingly whipped not to burst. It was the vital key for the cake base to expand, jiggle, and become as soft and smooth as cotton after baking.
Pouring the pale yellow batter and gently tapping it on the counter to break large air bubbles, Kaelen put the cake mold into the magic stone oven placed in the corner of the kitchen, skillfully adjusting the temperature.
He did not rest his hands while waiting for the cake to bake. Kaelen poured the chilled fresh cream into another clean bowl. Sane stood beside him, extremely self-aware, holding the magic stone egg beater, patiently pressing the button. The smooth buzzing sound of the machine rang out again. The liquid cream gradually thickened, forming soft, fluffy ripples.
"Alright, you can stop." Kaelen smiled and received the cream bowl. He scooped the completely cooled, sweet and sour dark purple grape jam and poured it in. With just a few slow stirring motions, the snow-white cream was immediately dyed a beautiful pastel purple color, radiating the refreshing, sweet fragrance of fresh fruit that awakened all senses.
"Smells so good." Sane’s deep, hoarse voice rang out. He stepped forward, wrapping his sturdy arms completely around Kaelen’s slender waist from behind. His chin rested on the crook of his shoulder. The tip of his nose nuzzled against his sensitive earlobe, bringing the scorching breath and characteristic possessiveness of a dominant male. His lazy silver-gray pupils locked tightly onto the beloved person in his embrace.
Kaelen shrank his neck slightly from the tickle, pushing away the God of War’s coquettish head between tears and laughter: "Just wait a little longer, the cake is almost done."
The "ding" notification sound rang out. The oven was opened, and the mouth-watering aroma of butter and milk burst out, spreading throughout the small kitchen. The sponge cake base expanded high, golden brown, faintly radiating heat. Kaelen quickly took the cake out. He waited for it to cool down a bit, then used a knife to slice it horizontally into thin layers.
He meticulously spread a smooth layer of pale purple grape cream on the surface of each cake layer, interspersing a few peeled fresh grapes to increase the crisp sweetness, then skillfully smoothed the cream coating on the outside.
Before long, a complete, rustic yet delicate grape cream cake appeared on the kitchen counter.
Sane tightened his embrace around his mate’s waist. His dark gaze fixed tightly on Kaelen’s proud smiling lips. He snorted softly with profound meaning: "The cake looks delicious, but I think... the baker looks much more appetizing."
Kaelen’s mind gradually became sluggish. He still remembered needing to put the cake in the refrigerator to chill. As soon as he closed the refrigerator door, Kaelen’s body immediately flew up.
Sane carried Kaelen horizontally like a princess. Their figures flashed once, and the two disappeared from Lyra city, then appeared in an unfamiliar place. Kaelen only had time to glance at the luxurious layout of this unfamiliar room before his vision was obscured by Sane’s approaching face.
Layers of clothes were removed. The air in the room gradually became thick.
The Divine Energy unintentionally leaked when the two Deities intertwined was not something a small place like Lyra city could endure. Therefore, Sane had always held back since they reunited until now.
Only today, when his Divine Energy and Divine soul were completely unsealed, did Sane bring his mate to this place. This was the God of War’s Temple.
Not the Temple built for Sane by believers in the lower realm, but the Temple formed alongside his birth. Only he and the True Gods were allowed to enter.
Streaks of golden light swirling around the Temple gathered to hover around the two, bringing novel waves of pleasure. Kaelen kneeled on the soft bed, enduring every thrust from behind. At the moment Sane hit the sensitive spot, Kaelen’s whole body felt like it was electrocuted. He could not hold back, parting his lips to let out a whimpering sound.
"Ah... Sane... Mmm... Too deep..."
"Baby, you are so sweet." Sane leaned down, pressing his chest against his smooth back, reaching out to grasp his chin, whispering into Kaelen’s ear.
The scorching heat from his breath seemed to have vitality, tracing the sensation on his earlobe running down, transmitting to the most intimate place. His whole body trembled. Kaelen shivered, spurting out streams of milky white fluid from below.
That place became extremely tight. Sane could not hold back, biting tightly onto his nape, increasing his movement speed. Crackling sounds of lightning hovered around his ears. The intimate place received streams of warm liquid, making Kaelen instinctively open his mouth, letting out a scream full of joy.
"Kaelen... Bennett... I love you..."
Crack! Crack!
A shattering sound echoed in Kaelen’s brain. The chains tightly binding his Divine soul were struck heavily by an invisible force, then shattered into pieces like sparks in the night. Kaelen’s Divine soul was liberated, turning around to tightly embrace Sane’s Divine soul.
Sane could not hold back, letting out a soft, sexy groan. The intertwining of Divine souls was much more intense than just physical touch. This was something the two had never experienced before.
Kaelen’s whole body also soared. He turned around, stretching his legs to wrap around Sane’s waist, pulling him close to his body. He gave Sane a passionate kiss. When the two separated, he looked at Sane with sparkling eyes, blooming a radiant smile.
"So... the faith in your heart, was exactly me?"
Sane smiled looking at him. He used his hand to brush aside a lock of hair lingering on his eyes, saying:
"Mhm. You are exactly my God, the faith I pursue for a lifetime."
Kaelen could not hold back, pulling Sane’s head down again, continuing to kiss him. Person entwined with person, Divine soul entwined with Divine soul, a new cycle began again.
High in the sky, a chubby brat rolled around on the bed, using pillows made of golden clouds to cover his ears tightly. He patiently waited one hour, two hours... then until the sun went down the mountain, the stars and moon climbed to the peak overhead, yet the sound causing him distress refused to stop.
He threw the pillows away in frustration, resting his hands on his hips and shouting loudly:
"Damn you two shameless guys! Will you stop already!"
The sky filled with black clouds. Thunder and lightning crashed, waking Kaelen up from his daze. He said hoarsely:
"What... what sound is that..."
Sane used a deep kiss again to pull his mind back, making Kaelen unable to think about anything else. Sane snorted coldly. A golden light pillar struck straight into the sky, knocking the chubby brat who was resting his hands on his hips cursing flat on his back.
The chubby brat was stunned after being hit. A moment later, he burst into tears:
"Waa waa, you bastard bullying a child. I will run away from home!"
The brat sniffled, rummaging through his cloud bed, packing his bags to hit the road. Unfortunately, he had not taken a few steps before a giant hand made of golden light grabbed his waistband, throwing him back to his original place.
At this point, the chubby brat could not hold back anymore. His tears turned into two water hoses pouring down on the mortal realm, creating a surging waterfall. If this waterfall fell to the ground, it would definitely create a great flood.
A helpless sigh echoed in the air. The giant hand appeared again, catching the waterfall and throwing it into the sky. The hand plucked two small cloud clusters, rolling them into two pieces of cotton balls, stuffing them into the chubby brat’s ears.
That giant hand approached Lyra city again. It opened the refrigerator in Kaelen’s kitchen, taking the grape cream cake out and stuffing it into the chubby brat’s arms. The chubby brat sniffled twice, looking at the cream cake with full curiosity.
He then opened his mouth to take a test bite.
The smooth, soft texture mixed with the aroma of butter and milk along with the sweet and sour taste of grape cream filled his oral cavity. The chubby brat’s eyes lit up. The brat opened his mouth to take another bite, his eyes narrowing in bliss.
A sigh of relief echoed in the air again...
