The Plant Master Becomes A Mute Sub-Beast: Farming And Laying Eggs
Chapter 241: Strange Metal
The snow on the northern mountain peaks had begun to melt.
Water flowed down threading through rock crevices, turning the ground around the Golden Bull tribe mushy; a single step would sink up to the ankles. On branches bare throughout the entire winter, tender shoots had sprouted purplish, only waiting for a few more sunny days to fully bloom.
Spring had arrived.
All over the Golden Bull tribe were towering green-tiled roofs. Oh wait, now it was not called Golden Bull anymore.
After receiving the Weapon Forging inheritance, the White Elephant tribe and the Golden Bull tribe had merged into one, taking the old Golden Bull tribe territory as the main location, named Aegis, also the first tribe on the Continent with dual Chiefs.
This name was the result of a fiery month-long battle between the two Sages, possessing extremely significant meaning.
Kaelen stood on top of the watchtower, casting his gaze far away, taking in the panoramic view of the Aegis tribe. Their houses were very tall and spacious, perhaps as tall as a three-story villa in Crimson. Under the influence of Kaelen and Sane, the houses here all had spacious gardens, smoothly paved with stones; in the yards, various types of vegetables or fresh flowers were planted; some houses planted fruit trees or medicinal herbs.
Far from the residential area was the industrial area. The people of the Aegis tribe were clumsy; exquisite industries like weaving, fine ceramics crafting,... they could not do, therefore their industrial area was mainly blacksmith workshops and carpentry workshops along with brick-making workshops.
It must be said that although blacksmithing was tiring it earned a lot of money; just the first batch of weapons and knives, scissors, hoes, shovels,... was enthusiastically welcomed. Low-level Martial Artists who had not yet condensed martial weapons and ordinary people all came to buy weapons; farming tribes bought agricultural tools. Even the Martial God Shrine bought a batch of specialized weapons and iron tools.
"Priest Kaelen!"
Kaelen heard someone calling him; poking his head to look down, he saw Bertram swaying his round belly vigorously waving at him. He then turned and climbed down from the watchtower, walking to his place: "You called me, is there a matter?"
Bertram nodded: "Yes, our place encountered a small problem. There is a newly transported batch of ore today that is extremely hard; no matter how we heat it, it won’t melt, no matter how we smash it, it won’t break. Master told me to ask you to come over and help take a look."
Kaelen hurriedly followed Bertram to the blacksmith workshop.
"You’re here? Here, look at this thing; we’ve been researching it for a while. The smell is correct, the shape is also similar, but why can’t iron be smelted from it?"
Kaelen picked up the ore piece to examine, discovering an anomaly. The color of this metal seemed brighter than iron, the rust smell was also much stronger. He pointed out these differences to Solomon and Bertram, telling them to filter these ore blocks out separately. He brought all of them back to his residence, beginning to flip through each page of classic texts to research.
Sane and Maxwell had taken the Guest Elder token to the Martial God Shrine; him being alone in this place was a bit boring. Now having a matter to be busy with, Kaelen immediately immersed himself in it.
Ten days later, the first spring rain fell; Kaelen finally found information about this type of ore in the Dwarven Weapon Forging inheritance that Edward left behind before leaving. This metal was called Star Iron, an extremely precious mineral specially used to forge magical artifacts.
Kaelen jumped up happily, feeling his whole body floating. Previously he still thought the Weapon Forging inheritance could only be looked at but not used, because it lacked the most important Star Iron material. Unexpectedly it delivered itself right to the door!
"What’s the matter that you are so happy?"
Sane braved the rain returning; the first thing he did was run home to take a look at his mate. Just entering the door, he saw his mate happily holding a rock jumping up and down, looking no different from when Finnick was chased and spanked by Chloe.
He took off his raincoat while asking amusedly. Kaelen saw Sane return, immediately ran over, hopped onto his body and gave his mate a passionate kiss. Sane was enveloped by this enthusiasm, his whole body floating as if on clouds.
"My love, quickly look! This is exactly Star Iron!!!"
Sane was stunned, then wildly joyful. He was originally worrying about forging Divine Energy weapons for the Crimson Warriors. The weapons in Edward’s and Ryder’s spaces were their own; taking out a few for the whole family and nearly a hundred team members following them to the Eastern continent to use was out of absolute necessity. He did not want the two children to empty their private hoards to compensate the tribe.
Now having Star Iron, those ancient weapons did not need to be used anymore!
Kaelen narrowed his eyes in a smile: "Previously I still mumbled about not having materials to craft communication magical artifacts, now we immediately have it. From now on wherever we go we can contact each other. We can also contact the kids on the other side."
He slid down, pulling Sane back to the work table, saying: "Although on this side there are no Fire attribute Divine Energy Warriors, your Purple Lightning Divine Energy still has several times more heat; smelting and crafting this thing is absolutely not a big problem!"
Sane nodded: "First temporarily put the Star Iron matter aside. This time I went to the Martial God Shrine and managed to meet the Temple Master."
Kaelen widened his eyes in surprise, exclaiming: "He came out of seclusion? Did he successfully advance?"
Sane shook his head: "Not yet successful, but his Martial power has condensed to a terrifying degree. Although he has not yet reached the God stage, he is only half a step away from the God stage."
"Half-step God stage?" Kaelen’s eyes shone: "How is his strength?"
Sane smiled bitterly: "I and Maxwell rushed forward together at the same time, couldn’t block a single strike."
Kaelen’s mouth gaped open. If considering the Martial power direction, Maxwell and Sane both had reached the Intermediate Martial Saint rank; if counting according to the Divine Energy direction, they both had reached the Demigod Warrior level. Yet the two combining forces could not withstand a single strike from the Temple Master.
His complexion tensed: "Then the Temple Master’s meaning is...?"
Sane smiled relievedly: "He stands on our side, or more accurately, he stands on the side of this Continent."
At this moment Kaelen finally breathed a sigh of relief: "An ally is good, an ally is good..." Such a strong person being on the opposing faction, gathering this entire continent together still wouldn’t be able to defeat him.
"The Temple Master kept me behind separately." Sane placed Kaelen sitting on his lap, resting his chin on his shoulder: "He said your Divine Energy brought him some enlightenment, so we stayed until now to return."
During that time, Sane conveniently observed the Martial God Shrine’s movements. He smirked, his eyes slightly curving:
"That Head Divine Attendant group reached out to the Temple Master’s Shrine and the Holy Son’s Shrine many times but all failed. That brat Rylan even reused his old trick, wanting to use the charm technique to seduce the Holy Son. Unfortunately he was kicked by the Holy Son and almost died on the spot; if his five beastmen had not exerted themselves to block it, he probably would have had to change to a new body again."
Kaelen raised an eyebrow, blinking his eyes: "What is the Holy Son’s strength? Moreover, having such a resilient psychology is truly far different from my perception."
Sane chuckled: "He is an Intermediate Martial Saint like me; moreover, he is the Temple Master’s younger brother. These two brothers outwardly appear to oppose each other, but in reality are secretly rebalancing the isosceles triangle of the Eastern continent’s factions. As long as someone dares to touch the head of one side, the other side will beat them until their Papa can’t recognize them. Therefore the Head Divine Attendant even holding secrets related to Deities, does not dare to arbitrarily touch them."
Kaelen frowned: "The Temple Master this year is one thousand seven hundred years old, while the Holy Son is said to be only six hundred; are you sure they are brothers and not father and son?"
Sane shrugged: "That is what the Temple Master told me; as for the reality who knows. That is their family matter; if it doesn’t affect the big picture then who cares if they are brothers or father and son."
Kaelen felt it was also correct. The couple switched the topic to the content of the private meeting of the Temple Master’s Shrine, the Holy Son’s Shrine, and Sane. From what was distilled, they had reached a consensus with each other, which was finding a way to separate Rylan and his beastmen, then dealing with each one individually.
For this matter, the Temple Master said to leave it all for the Martial God Shrine to resolve; Sane and Kaelen only needed to promptly provide clues and assist them if the matter exceeded the scope ordinary people could handle.
Regarding this matter, Kaelen completely had no objections. The two of them were only outsiders, not knowing too much about the Eastern continent’s internal affairs as well as the combat terrain; rushing to the front lines would only make themselves lose face.
"The information needing to be grasped I and the two Sages have researched almost entirely; staying here won’t solve any problems. Waiting to finish resolving this Star Iron matter, I will go with you to the Martial God Shrine once, looking at the documents they store to see if we can find any more clues, then we will go find the Fire God’s Heart."
"Mhm, listen to you completely." Sane rubbed his head into his mate’s neck crook, inhaling the refreshing fragrance blended with the gentle orange blossom scent on his body, softly saying: "I think I know when you fused the Wood God’s Heart. Was it during that first time..."
Kaelen blushed furiously covering Sane’s mouth, saying fiercely: "Shut up!"
Sane, having his mouth covered by him, chuckled softly. The vibration in his throat emitted an unusually seductive sound; Kaelen embarrassedly let go, buried his head biting his chest once, mumbling: "Hateful guy!"
Sane chuckled, kissing his furiously blushing earlobe. Every time he pressed Kaelen asking when he fused the Wood God’s Heart, he always blushed and evaded. He guessed back and forth, unexpectedly guessing correctly.
It turned out when they got tangled together by a twist of fate in that damp cave, their life trajectory at that time truly began.
