The Plant Master Becomes A Mute Sub-Beast: Farming And Laying Eggs
Chapter 200: Long-Fanged Demonic Tiger
"Achoo! Achoo!"
Siley brought his tail up to rub his nose, silently wondering if he had caught a cold, having sneezed continuously since morning.
"Brother Siley, are you sick?"
Oliver asked sluggishly. Siley hurriedly said: "I am not, probably just kitchen ash flying into my nose."
He used his tail to wrap around the meat skewer on the stove, holding a tube of boiled animal blood in his mouth to walk to the leaf bed. Catching the smell of bloody stench in the air, the purple-haired boy on the bed immediately grimaced, staring intently at Siley. Afterward, he discovered an additional deep wound on Siley’s back.
Two streams of tears dripped from the purple eyes.
"Why are you crying again?! Be good, do not cry, I will find another way..."
Oliver shook his head: "You are injured again. I am sorry, I implicated you..."
Siley sighed, slithering onto the bed, encircling Oliver in the middle of his body. He flicked his forked tongue to lick away the teardrops lingering on Oliver’s eyelashes, gently comforting: "It is not your fault, I volunteered to save you. Good baby, do not cry anymore. I will go out again to find the way back to the tribe today, alright?"
Siley looked heartbrokenly at the increasingly sallow little Sub-Beast before his eyes, regretting leaving the tribe so ruthlessly that day, leaving no way back for himself. Therefore, now he could neither find the way back to the tribe nor have any way for his clan members to find him.
Hearing that, Oliver panicked and hugged the white snake, unexpectedly aggravating the crack on his ribs. A thin layer of sweat broke out on his forehead, but the little Sub-Beast was resilient and did not let out a single groan. He buried his face into the snake’s body, trying to make his breathing return to normal. Only a moment later did he say:
"Just do not go anymore, you were injured last time, and your scales have not even grown back yet here."
He pointed to the wound right under Siley’s lower abdomen. A few days ago, when Siley was finding the way back, he almost lost his life to the mouth of a long-fanged tiger. Although his recovery power was truly astonishing, Oliver did not want to let him take risks once again.
The position Oliver pointed to was slightly sensitive, so Siley unnaturally used his tail to cover it. He coughed softly and said: "Alright then, I will not go anymore. Hurry up and eat, it will get fishy if it gets cold."
Oliver took the meat skewer, struggling to chew every single bite. From the time of breaking out of his shell until now, Oliver had never eaten any food this terrible. But an injured Sub-Beast who could not even crawl, alongside a beastman cub who did not even have hands, having something to eat was already a blessing, so Oliver did not demand much.
His body had a self-healing mechanism but was not as strong as beastmen, the rib crack had been several days yet only healed a tiny bit.
Oliver wrinkled his small nose, trying to swallow the tough and dry meat down his throat, then reaching out to hug the boiled animal blood tube to drink. The foul bloody smell rushed straight to his brain, making his stomach churn, almost vomiting violently. But thinking of the fact that Siley had to bleed fighting with ferocious beasts to snatch this food portion, Oliver gritted his teeth tightly, held his breath, and gulped it all down cleanly.
After finishing drinking, Oliver’s tiny pale purple snake tail drooped down, coiling around Siley’s silver tail. Since being injured, the Divine Energy was not enough to maintain a complete human form, so Oliver could only maintain this state.
"Brother Siley, wait until we find my Papa, I will tell Papa to cook a table of really delicious food for you." Oliver licked his lips, his large round purple eyes shining with longing: "My Papa’s cooking is the most delicious in the world. Papa’s roasted meat melts in the mouth, being extremely sweet, never being bitter or burnt like this. There are also cakes and fruit candies too..."
Siley was circling the boy, listening to the soft, tender voice painting a beautiful prospect, his eyes drooping slightly. He stared intently at the place where the two tails were coiling together.
The Sub-Beasts of the Snake clan were very special, having neither ears nor tails, only possessing the vertical pupils characteristic of Snakes. Oliver was different; his scent was that of a Sub-Beast, but his form was a Half-Snake. Siley clearly remembered, in the Snake clan’s Priest records, only the revered Snake God of the Snake clan had this form.
However, what Siley paid attention to at this moment was not Oliver’s form. This Sub-Beast was still too young, completely not understanding what two snakes intertwining tails meant, but Siley was different. He was already an adult beastman, and he himself absolutely harbored no intentions toward a Sub-Beast as young as Oliver, so he discreetly retracted his tail.
"Alright, then I will wait for your Papa to cook delicious food for me." Siley extended his tail to rub Oliver’s head: "Since you are full, sleep for a while. I will keep watch at the cave entrance."
Saying that, Siley slithered his wound-covered body towards the outside of the damp stone cave entrance. This was originally the cave of an Earth-attribute wild boar; Siley had to sacrifice half his life to bite it to death to occupy the spot.
Even though he had used dirt to fill the cave entrance and smeared green moss on to conceal the bloody smell, the Illusion Forest was never a safe place.
Inside the cave, Oliver tried his best to sit up straight, starting to lean against the stone wall to cultivate. At the cave entrance, Siley could clearly feel every single stream of spiritual energy rolling into the cave, once again sighing emotionally in his heart at this astonishing cultivation speed of Oliver.
It was dusk. The wind blowing in from the Illusion Forest carried a bone-chilling coldness alongside the roaring sounds of wild beasts from afar.
Suddenly, Siley’s forked tongue flicked out, vibrating continuously in the air. The foul smell of saliva, the rotting smell of corpses... Siley’s vertical pupils contracted.
It is a long-fanged tiger! Moreover, not just a long-fanged tiger alone!
"Oliver! Wake up quickly!" Siley hissed softly but sharply, immediately slithering towards the leaf bed.
Oliver was concentrating on cultivating, hearing the call, he was startled and woke up. The purple snake tail instinctively coiled tightly around a small rock to defend himself: "Is... is there something wrong, Brother Siley?"
"The Long-Fanged Demonic Tiger and its subordinates have tracked us down." Siley had no time to explain. He opened his mouth, bit the tattered grass fiber cloth collar of Oliver, and tossed the boy onto his back: "Hold on tight! We must abandon this cave immediately!"
But it was already too late.
From the darkness of the ancient tree bases outside the cave, a series of bloodshot third eyes in the middle of foreheads began to light up brightly like will-o’-wisps.
Low growling sounds echoed, completely cutting off the retreat path. An alpha Three-Eyed Wolf with a body as huge as a wild buffalo stepped out, its jagged teeth dripping down extremely slimy saliva drops.
It stared intently at the tiny white snake carrying a Half-Snake Sub-Beast inside the cave. Behind the wolf pack was a Long-Fanged Demonic Tiger sitting imposingly on a flat rock like an Emperor. The bodies of Siley and Oliver trembled.
High-stage Martial Master!
Unexpectedly, just two mere cubs like them could actually lure a High-stage Martial Master level Long-Fanged Demonic Tiger to hunt and kill them.
The tiger let out a long roar. The entire wolf pack of over a dozen immediately surrounded the cave entrance, closing in step by step.
Oliver trembled. The breath of the wild beasts blowing straight into his face suffocated the boy. He pursed his lips, sliding down from Siley’s back again, spreading his arms to block in front of Siley:
"Brother Siley, I will draw their attention later, you run away. Their target is me..."
Siley wandered in the Illusion Forest for so many days and months without any problem, yet when meeting him, there would be a wave of magical beasts attacking every few days. If Oliver did not understand the cause by now, then he would be in vain being the son of his Papa and Daddy. This pack of magical beasts was definitely targeting him, or more accurately, the Divine Blood inside his body!
Hearing Oliver say so, Siley froze. He sneered, angrily using his tail to wrap around Oliver’s waist, roughly pulling the boy to hide behind his back.
"Shut your mouth! No beastman would push a tiny Sub-Beast out to take the hit for himself! If we die, we die together!"
Oliver looked with red eyes at the silver snake blocking in front of him.
Siley raised his upper body high, his whole body emitting a blinding silver light. Even though his core was shattered, his martial power dissipated, he still tried to squeeze out his last bit of strength, condensing his silver scales into the sharpest state possible.
"Today, unless I die, none of you even think about touching a single scale of his!"
Roar!
The alpha wolf lunged to pounce. Siley lashed his tail forcefully, the wind-tearing sound whistling. The snake tail smashed right into the wolf’s face, sending it flying into the cave wall. But at the same time, three other wolves attacked from the flanks on both sides.
Siley spun around to sink his venomous fangs into the neck of one wolf, but the claws of the remaining two tore open the scale layer on his flank, fresh blood spurting out again.
"Brother Siley!" Oliver bit his lips to form hand seals in front of his chest, individual water dragons flying out to coil tightly around the two wolves besieging Siley, using water pressure to snap their necks. However, to protect Siley, he was immediately slapped by a powerful wolf claw, his entire body flying up to smash into the stone wall.
"Oliver!" Siley immediately lunged over to bite the neck of that wolf, simultaneously using his tail to smack away several other wolves.
Even though they were just two cubs, the wolf pack of ten suffered over half casualties. The Long-Fanged Demonic Tiger seemed to have lost its patience. It emitted a purring sound in its throat, and the Three-Eyed Demonic Wolf pack immediately retreated, making a path for it.
The Long-Fanged Demonic Tiger casually walked over, then its body suddenly flashed once, and the Silver Snake was sent flying. Siley’s bones creaked and cracked, and a mouthful of fresh blood was immediately spewed out from his throat.
He knew he had reached his limit, so he used his entire massive body to coil up, creating a shield layer made of flesh wrapping the unconscious Oliver in the very center.
Daddy, Papa... I am sorry to both of you...
