Chapter 9: The Adventurer’s Guild Part II

Everyone was supposed to have an identification card originally.

However, Qiu Nuoya had not lost his.

He had simply never possessed one in the first place.

Because of that, he had been nervous about whether a replacement could even be issued under such circumstances.

But surprisingly, it was created without any problems.

Qiu Nuoya had no idea how the system worked.

Still, since it had been successfully issued, he decided not to worry about it.

The identification card he received was basically like a business card.

It only listed his name, age, race, and occupation.

Although, seeing his occupation listed as [Missing Child] was still rather questionable.

After successfully obtaining his new identification card at the church, Qiu Nuoya and the others headed toward the Adventurer’s Guild together.

There were procedures required before he could take the adventurer registration exam.

Additionally, Igor and Viktor, who apparently were already adventurers, needed to report the completion of their own requests.

They also learned that the guild had training grounds for both magic and physical combat.

Since Qiu Nuoya would need to practice anyway, they quickly decided that training there would be the best option.

While walking, Qiu Nuoya asked Igor and Viktor about adventurers.

Apparently, adventurers had a ranking system.

In a way, it was exactly the kind of standard fantasy setting he was familiar with, so Qiu Nuoya understood it immediately.

There were ten ranks in total.

From the highest downward, they were:

SSS, SS, S, A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.

Igor was ranked B, while Viktor was ranked A.

Qiu Nuoya was surprised to learn that both of them were actually highly ranked adventurers.

They were both still young, yet they had already reached such heights.

Apparently, ranks above S were more like honorary titles.

They were special ranks given only to adventurers who had achieved great accomplishments.

For ordinary adventurers who simply continued working normally, A rank was considered the highest achievable rank.

To increase one’s rank, completing requests was not the only requirement.

There were also additional examinations depending on the rank being pursued.

However, that was still far in the future for Qiu Nuoya, so he did not need to worry about it yet.

The Adventurer’s Guild apparently arranged jobs based on rank and profession.

For difficult requests, adventurers often formed parties to complete them.

Igor and Viktor frequently worked together because their ranks and ages were close, and their combat styles complemented each other well.

Igor specialized in close-range combat, while Viktor focused on long-range attacks.

When taking on missions that were even more difficult than their current ones, they sometimes formed parties with other adventurers.

However, for simple jobs around this area, the two of them were more than enough, they said with a laugh.

"This area doesn’t have many dangerous monsters, and it is pretty peaceful."

"Exactly. There are no conflict zones nearby, and since this is a rural area, some adventurers consider it boring. But I personally like this calm and peaceful place."

"I plan to earn a little more money here, then challenge the dungeon to the north!"

A dungeon!

There were actually dungeons?!

Qiu Nuoya immediately reacted to the word dungeon and looked up.

Seeing his expression, Igor gave him a mischievous grin.

"Oh? Nuoya, are you interested in dungeons? Viktor doesn’t seem interested in things like that at all, which is pretty boring. Even though he is an A-rank adventurer, he has no desire to go on adventures."

"I have already experienced most of the things I wanted to do."

"Are you an old man or something?!"

"By human standards, I am indeed quite old."

"Huh? Wait, does that mean Viktor isn’t human?"

When Qiu Nuoya asked, Viktor lifted up his long hair that was loosely tied around his shoulders and revealed his ears.

"I am an Elf."

The ears he showed were indeed slightly pointed compared to those of humans.

An elf!

After encountering a beastman, Qiu Nuoya had now met an elf too!

Both Igor and Viktor were people straight out of a fantasy world!

Qiu Nuoya had thought Viktor’s almost unreal beauty was strange, but now it made perfect sense.

Elves were beautiful.

That was an absolute fantasy cliché!

"By the way, can I ask your age...?"

"Hmm hmm, how old do you think I am?" Viktor said that and gave a smile as if trying to avoid answering.

Maybe he did not really want people asking about his age.

When he said that he and Igor were close in age, perhaps he only meant that their appearances seemed similar.

While they continued talking, Qiu Nuoya and the others eventually arrived at the Adventurer’s Guild.

Compared to ordinary houses, the building was larger in every way.

When they entered, even the ceiling was much higher than Qiu Nuoya had expected, making the interior look almost like a hotel.

However, Qiu Nuoya quickly realized why the building was designed that way.

The reason was simple.

The adventurers inside were all large people.

The adventurers in the guild came from various races and had all kinds of appearances, but they all shared one thing in common.

They had sturdy and powerful builds.

Qiu Nuoya felt a little intimidated.

Was he completely out of place here?

"Nuoya, wait here for a moment."

After saying that, Igor and Viktor went over to the counter.

Qiu Nuoya who is being left alone immediately felt uncomfortable.

He could tell that the adventurers’ eyes were gathering on him.

Of course they were.

A child like him suddenly appearing in a place like this would naturally make people wonder what he was doing there.

Sorry.

But please do not bully me.

"Hey, kid!"

A loud voice suddenly called out to him, making Qiu Nuoya flinch.

When he turned toward the voice, he saw a man with an intimidating face and an obviously powerful build.

Standing beside him was a female warrior whose muscles were equally impressive.

The two of them were looking at him with amused smiles.
