The long silver blond hair loosely tied around his shoulders sparkled as it reflected the sunlight, making him look strangely divine.

His eyes were a light brown, though depending on the angle, they almost appeared golden. His facial features were so perfectly balanced that it was difficult to tell whether he was male or female.

However, his voice was clearly masculine, so Qiu Nuoya assumed he was probably a man.

"Ah, there was a child being attacked by slimes."

"That’s unusual. Slimes are practically toys for the children around here."

The young man who had said that leaned closer to examine Qiu Nuoya.

When he noticed Qiu Nuoya’s clothes, which had been torn apart and nearly destroyed, he frowned slightly and began chanting a spell.

A moment later, the area around them sparkled briefly.

Qiu Nuoya’s clothes were restored beautifully.

Well, not completely.

The length had become slightly shorter, but they had been restored enough to be worn again.

"Sorry, I cannot use complete restoration magic. The length might be a little shorter now, but it is better than leaving them torn up, right?"

After he said that, the beautiful young man gently patted Qiu Nuoya’s head.

So the magic he used was probably some kind of restoration spell that could return objects to their original state to a certain extent.

"Um, thank you very much! Really, really! You helped me so much!"

"Haha, this is part of our job, so don’t worry about it. Kid, where is your home? We will take you back."

The young man named Igor easily picked Qiu Nuoya up.

Qiu Nuoya had not expected to be lifted, so he panicked.

"Ah, um, I can walk by myself!"

"It’s fine. You had a scary experience today, so consider this a special occasion."

With that, Igor carried Qiu Nuoya on his shoulders.

Qiu Nuoya’s view suddenly became much higher.

The slimes that had terrified him moments ago were now far below, hopping around harmlessly.

When one of the slimes approached Igor’s feet, Igor simply kicked it away.

The slime flew through the air, bounced several times, and disappeared into the grass.

Once again, Qiu Nuoya realized that to adults, slimes really were not much of a threat at all.

The world viewed from Igor’s shoulders was enormous.

For Qiu Nuoya, who had spent his daily life surrounded by rows of buildings in the city, this scenery felt completely unfamiliar.

And when he looked more carefully, he noticed something besides the landscape that was equally out of place.

It was above Igor’s head.

This was...

"Ears?"

Yes.

Hidden beneath Igor’s hair were a pair of round and fluffy animal ears.

They did not look like hair accessories or decorations. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Qiu Nuoya who is curious cautiously reached out and touched them.

At the same time, Igor laughed.

"That tickles."

"What, kid? Is this your first time seeing a beastmen?"

"Are you a beastmen, sir?"

"More accurately, I am a beastmen. My father was a beastmen from the bear tribe, specifically a grizzly, while my mother was human."

"Beastmen..."

Ohhh.

Qiu Nuoya had finally encountered a truly fantasy like person.

Right in front of him, Igor’s round ears were twitching back and forth.

They were incredibly cute.

"My name is Igor, and this is Viktor. What is your name?"

"Ah, Qiu Nuoya. You can call me Nuoya."

The silver blond young man who began walking beside Igor introduced himself as Viktor.

"Oh? You have a family name? Does that mean you are from a noble family? I do not hear the surname Qiu often. Where did you come from?"

What?!

In this world, did only nobles have surnames?

If that was the case, Qiu Nuoya probably should avoid using his surname.

Besides, he was not a noble at all.

Viktor looked down at Qiu Nuoya and asked where he had come from.

"Um... from over there."

Qiu Nuoya pointed behind him toward the forest.

Igor immediately looked surprised.

"From The Forest of Wandering?!"

So that forest was called The Forest of Wandering.

Thank goodness he had not entered it.

Choosing to head toward the grassland had been the correct decision.

"Nuoya, why were you in The Forest of Wandering? Your home is in the city, isn’t it?"

Igor’s question left Qiu Nuoya troubled.

How was he supposed to explain this?

Would they even believe him if he said he had come from another world?

More importantly, was it something he was allowed to tell the people of this world?

"My home... I don’t have one."

"You are not a child from this city...?"

"Then where are you from?"

Qiu Nuoya did not know how to answer.

He could only remain silent and shake his head.

"You don’t know? What about your family?"

"When I realized it, I was already near the forest. Other than that, I don’t remember anything..."

It was not a lie.

Qiu Nuoya truly knew nothing about this world.l and of course, he had no family here either.

Come to think of it, this body was clearly different in size from Qiu Nuoya’s previous body.

Was there originally someone who owned this body?

Or had God created this body from nothing?

"You don’t remember anything?"

"I have heard that The Forest of Wandering is home to monsters with dark magic that can confuse the mind."

"If that’s the case, could Nuoya have lost his memories because of one of those creatures in The Forest of Wandering?"

"The possibility cannot be ruled out."

Igor and Viktor had found a reasonable explanation that somehow made sense, so Qiu Nuoya decided to simply go along with their assumption.

"What should I do now...?"

"Hmm... for now, let’s go to the church in the city. If we check Nuoya’s status, we might be able to find out something."

"Status...?"

"Yes. If you go to the church, you can check your status and basic personal information. Apparently, people with the Appraisal skill can view it without going to the church, but the Appraisal skill is rare."
