The Ordinary Man's Extraordinary Second Life In Another World!
Chapter 180: Leaving Oraria
Guild Master Rogue was standing behind him with a smile as well, leaving Qiu Nuoya completely at a loss for words.
"Mother, this young man says he wants our daughter to marry him."
Wait! How long are they planning to keep this little skit going!? Surely Viktor won’t play along.
"I would never let Nuoya marry some unknown brat whose background we don’t even know."
What!? Viktor actually joined in!?
While Qiu Nuoya stood there dumbfounded, Guild Master Rogue smiled warmly and said, "What a close knit party you have. It’s wonderful to see."
They are certainly not on bad terms, but still!
"Well, enough about that." Viktor held out an arm toward Qiu Nuoya. "Come here."
Igor was extremely tall, so when he lifted Qiu Nuoya up, Qiu Nuoya’s head had been more than two meters above the ground. It was not too high to jump from, but jumping down from that height still required a little courage.
Qiu Nuoya let Viktor support him as he climbed down and returned safely to the ground.
"Now, everyone, it’s time to say your goodbyes as well."
Qiu Nuoya had received a great deal of help from Guild Master Rogue over the years. He had arranged for Qiu Nuoya to continue accepting missions while hiding from the Church, and he had even issued him a special pass that allowed him to leave the city without identification. Qiu Nuoya could never thank him enough.
"Thank you for everything." Qiu Nuoya bowed his head, and Rogue bowed in return. "No, thank you. Thanks to all of you, we can continue managing this city’s dungeon safely. We truly appreciate everything you’ve done. Our guild will always welcome you, so please be sure to visit again whenever you have the chance."
No matter what form it took, saying goodbye was always a little sad. However, unlike when they had left Coalora and practically fled in the middle of the night, this time they had been able to properly say goodbye to everyone who had helped them. Qiu Nuoya was grateful for that.
The horse drawn wagon Igor had prepared was not as large as the ones merchants used to transport their goods. It was a simple covered wagon with just enough space for all of them to sleep comfortably.
Two horses had been assigned to pull their wagon. Apparently, a single horse would have been capable of pulling it on its own, but since they were preparing for a fairly long journey, they had chosen to use two horses to reduce the strain on each animal.
Qiu Nuoya was once again impressed by just how powerful horses were. Their strength was enough to carry the entire party and their belongings while pulling the wagon at the same time.
"Well then, shall we go?"
They climbed into the wagon and left the city of Oraria behind.
What kind of adventure will be waiting for them this time?
Saying goodbye was certainly sad, but Qiu Nuoya was sure there would be many new encounters waiting for them as well.
He could not wait to see what the future had in store.
After leaving Oraria, their first destination was the tourist city of Cider Orchard. It was a resort town built along the shores of Coder Lake, a place that apparently served as a vacation destination for nobles and even members of the royal family.
The journey to Cider Orchard would take about ten days. This time, they were traveling leisurely by horse drawn wagon without having to hunt monsters for missions, so the trip was incredibly relaxed.
They occasionally hunted monsters that appeared and blocked the road, but for the most part, the journey was rather boring. To make use of the time, Qiu Nuoya was being taught how to handle the horses and ride them.
The two horses who had joined their group were a male gray horse and a female chestnut horse. Apparently, the gray horse had taken a liking to the chestnut horse and kept trying to get her attention, only to be coldly rejected each time. Watching the two of them was rather amusing.
Qiu Nuoya had been calling them "Gray One" and "Chestnut One," and somehow those names had simply become "Ash" and "Chestnut." He had never intended them as actual names, though...
Nothing happened on the first day of their journey. They found a suitable place to camp and began preparing dinner. Qiu Nuoya had slept inside dungeons several times before, but it had been a while since he had actually camped outdoors.
Of course, calling it camping was a little misleading this time, since they had a wagon. They did not have to sleep directly on the ground.
Qiu Nuoya even had futons stored inside his Magic Bag. Once he spread a futon across the wagon bed and covered himself with a blanket, it made a perfectly respectable bed.
Compared to traveling on foot, this is way too comfortable.
They had stocked up on a reasonable amount of food before leaving, but they also ate monsters they hunted along the way. After all, Qiu Nuoya wanted to enjoy a warm meal whenever possible.
Speaking of food, there was also the matter of the experiment he had conducted using his Spatial Magic and food storage.
To put the conclusion simply, vegetables stored inside the Item Box, just like those stored in the Magic Bag, did not spoil. However, the vegetables placed inside the expanded storage space he had created within the small box had gone bad.
In other words, the inside of the Item Box was probably a vacuum where time did not flow, while ordinary time continued to pass inside spaces expanded through Spatial Magic.
But when Qiu Nuoya thought about it more carefully, the result was actually obvious.
He had already managed to expand his room. If the inside of that room had been a vacuum, he would not have been able to live there.
So the result of the experiment should have been obvious from the beginning. He was just being an idiot for not realizing it sooner.
