The Ordinary Man's Extraordinary Second Life In Another World!
Chapter 151: Guild Registration
"How much is it?" Qiu Nuoya had absolutely no idea, so he tilted his head in confusion.
"Five gold coins for a single bone," Goldmine said with a completely serious expression.
"Isn’t that a rip-off?!"
"That’s how precious and rare Imoogi materials are!" Goldmine scolded him with an exasperated expression.
But if you go into the Dungeon Castle, you can defeat Imoogis over and over again, and there’s an unlimited supply of materials! Still, paying that much for them seems a little excessive.
"Well, if you think that price is a rip-off, I suppose I could lower the price even further?!"
Oh, no.
Qiu Nuoya had just realized his mistake. He should have been happy to have the materials bought at such a high price, but the absurd amount had made him blurt out what he really thought.
[ Hey, Master, what about my alcohol? ]
Long finally seemed to have grown impatient with their long conversation and let out a low growl.
"Don’t think you can use Long to intimidate me! No matter how hard you try, we can’t possibly buy all of it!"
"No, that’s not what I meant at all. This is quite a problem, though. For now, how much do you think you can buy?"
"Hmm, let’s see. How about five platinum coins for everything you’ve brought out here?"
The materials Qiu Nuoya had piled up were only a portion of what he still had in his possession. Judging from the prices Goldmine had mentioned earlier, Qiu Nuoya could not help feeling that he was losing out a little.
Still, there was no point negotiating for a higher price when he had plenty more materials in storage.
"That works for me. Thank you. What about you, Warren?"
"No. At this rate, there’s no way they’ll be able to buy my share too."
Warren had a point.
In the end, they agreed to split the materials between them and divide the payment equally. Each of them received two platinum coins and five gold coins.
Qiu Nuoya had heard that once someone became a Rank D adventurer, they could earn enough money to build a house.
Yeah... This really is a lot of money.
It’s feels like he could live comfortably without working for quite a while.
Beside Qiu Nuoya, Long walked along happily in his demi-human form, carrying a large barrel in his arms. The barrel was, of course, filled with alcohol. Long looked like he wanted to drink it immediately after receiving it, but Qiu Nuoya stopped him. "You can drink it after we get home."
By the way, the alcohol they received this time consisted of only the one barrel Long was carrying and five more stored in Qiu Nuoya’s magic bag. Qiu Nuoya had specifically asked the branch manager to arrange it this way. In other words, it was essentially an installment plan.
There was a simple reason Qiu Nuoya had requested to receive the alcohol this way. If Long received all of it at once, he looked like he might drink every last drop in an instant.
The alcohol had been obtained in exchange for Long providing his own scales, so technically, Qiu Nuoya had no right to complain about how Long drank it. Still, Qiu Nuoya had made this decision because he was worried that Long would turn into a full-fledged alcoholic dragon if things continued like this.
Fortunately, Long still had no idea how valuable his scales were, so he seemed perfectly satisfied with the number of barrels he had received. Qiu Nuoya was relieved.
The Tamer’s Guild also preferred the installment arrangement, since preparing several hundred barrels of alcohol all at once would have been difficult. Qiu Nuoya planned to continue trading the scales for alcohol this way for the foreseeable future.
As soon as Long received his alcohol, he seemed eager to go home, as though there was nothing left for him to do here. However, Qiu Nuoya and the others headed back to the Adventurer’s Guild once more.
After all, Long’s contracted monster registration still hadn’t been completed.
When they returned to the Adventurer’s Guild, the guild was in an uproar. There was a crowd gathered near one side of the building, and Qiu Nuoya could hear people whispering among themselves.
"These are Imoogi materials..."
"No way. Surely they’re fake, right?"
Qiu Nuoya immediately understood what had happened.
Igor must have released the Imoogi materials after saying that his magic bag was full.
"What a magnificent collection of materials! Yes, yes, of course we’ll take them!"
Qiu Nuoya heard the guild master’s voice from beyond the crowd and could not help but smile wryly. With a guild master who looked more like a seasoned merchant, there was no way he would pass up an opportunity like this.
Qiu Nuoya and Warren peered toward the other side from behind the crowd. When Viktor spotted Qiu Nuoya, he came over immediately.
"Looks like things have gotten quite lively."
"These are only Igor’s materials, though. What about you, Nuoya? Would you like to sell yours as well?"
In response to Viktor’s question, Qiu Nuoya and Warren explained that they had already sold some of their materials to the Tamer’s Guild and declined for now.
"So, did you manage to get the documents you needed?"
"Yes! Although, as it turns out, I didn’t actually need the documents after all."
When Qiu Nuoya explained everything that had happened at the Tamer’s Guild, Viktor looked exasperated.
"Forgetting something that important is the very definition of negligence."
Qiu Nuoya then walked over to the receptionist and said, "I’d like to register my contracted monster," before presenting the completed documents he had been given, his Adventurer’s Guild card, and his Tamer’s Guild employee ID.
The receptionist was the same woman as before. However, the moment Qiu Nuoya stepped up to the counter, she visibly flinched and bowed her head. "I sincerely apologize for my behavior earlier! I had no idea that you were a member of the party that has currently reached the lowest floor of the dungeon. I was extremely rude to you!"
