The Ordinary Man's Extraordinary Second Life In Another World!
Chapter 134: Mysterious Magic Circle
[ Nooo, I’m gonna tear apart~ ]
[ Giving up over something this minor. That’s why slimes are so useless. ]
Long accelerated even further, seemingly mocking Mochi.
If Mochi hadn’t put up that slime barrier, they definitely would have been blown right off.
"Sorry, Mochi. Just hang in there a little longer."
[ Okay, I’ll do my best~ ]
Even as it said that, Mochi’s body was trembling violently, looking as though it might be blown away at any moment. Qiu Nuoya hurriedly asked Long to slow down.
[ If I fly this slowly, we’ll never reach our destination. ]
"That’s true, but our bodies can’t keep up with this speed, so take it easy!"
Long simply spat out a single remark.
[ You’re so fragile. ]
Even so, he did slow down a little.
Compared to the sturdy body of a dragon, almost every other living creature was fragile. Qiu Nuoya wished Long would take that into consideration a little more.
After flying continuously for nearly an hour, they finally saw what appeared to be an island in the distance. Qiu Nuoya had not been able to see it at all, yet Long seemed to have spotted it long ago. A dragon’s eyesight really must have been incredible.
As the island gradually came closer, Qiu Nuoya realized that it was much larger than he had expected. He was once again left speechless by the sheer scale of this floor.
Just how many islands of this size could there be on a single floor of the dungeon? The sea seemed endless, and there was no way of knowing how far it stretched. The scale of this place was so enormous that it almost felt as though an entire world had been packed inside a single floor.
When Long landed on the sandy beach at the edge of the island, Qiu Nuoya saw a large number of birds suddenly take flight from the forest toward the center of the island.
Could this be an uninhabited island rich with nature?
"Exploration Search."
As soon as they got off Long, Viktor used Exploration Search to check the island’s surroundings. Meanwhile, Long plopped down heavily on the spot as if declaring that it was time for a break.
Igor looked around carefully, seemingly checking for anything suspicious using both his eyes and his sense of smell.
As expected, the two high ranked members really don’t hesitate in their movements.
Qiu Nuoya watched the two of them with admiration, but beside him, Warren had collapsed miserably onto the ground.
This is definitely motion sickness.
"Warren, are you okay?"
"I, I’m fi... urgh..."
"You don’t have to force yourself. Just throw up if you need to." Qiu Nuoya gently rubbed Warren’s back, his eyes filled with concern, and cast another healing spell on him.
No matter how much healing magic Qiu Nuoya used while they were still flying, it would not reduce the physical strain caused by the flight. Frankly, Warren would probably just have to get used to it.
Viktor watched Warren with cold eyes. His expression seemed to silently say, How pathetic.
Still, at least he had the decency not to say it aloud.
"Drink some water and lie down for a while."
"I can’t do that..."
"In your current condition, you’ll only be a burden no matter what you do. Igor and I will go take a look around the island. You two stay here and wait. With Long here, I doubt any lower ranked monsters will attack us, but just to be safe, I’ll put up a protective barrier as well."
With that, Viktor surrounded Qiu Nuoya and Warren with a barrier before taking Igor with him into the island.
"Ah... I’m really useless. At this rate, I don’t even know why I came along in the first place..." Warren lay down on the ground and covered his face with his hands.
Qiu Nuoya sat beside him with his knees drawn up. "Everyone is like this at first."
"But this keeps happening to me. Every time, it just makes me realize how far behind those two I am. I feel so pathetic." Warren was completely discouraged.
It was true that the two of them were clearly on a completely different level from Qiu Nuoya and Warren as adventurers. However, both Igor and Viktor had already been high ranked adventurers when they first met Qiu Nuoya. That did not mean they had started out that way.
"You know, Igor and Viktor have been adventurers since before we were even born. We started from completely different places, so don’t you think it’s presumptuous to compare ourselves to them while we’re still so inexperienced? The two of them have spent all these years building up countless experiences, and that’s what made them who they are now. Trying to stand shoulder to shoulder with them without having gone through the same process would actually be disrespectful to them. We’re still in the middle of building up our own experience. If we’re going to compare ourselves to them, I think we need to accumulate just as much experience first."
"...What are you, some kind of adult? You’re younger than me, so don’t get so cocky. Besides..."
"Besides?"
Warren lifted the hand that had been covering his face and turned toward Qiu Nuoya. They stared at each other silently for a while.
Then Warren abruptly looked away.
"Never mind." He turned his back to Qiu Nuoya and rolled over, looking thoroughly sulky.
Qiu Nuoya looked away from him and gazed out at the vast ocean stretching endlessly before them. The waves were remarkably calm, and they had yet to encounter a single monster. The whole situation almost felt like they had come here for a vacation. ℯℯ𝘭.
"You know, when I found out recently that Viktor hated me because of my name, I thought, ’What the hell is that supposed to mean?’ I’m me. I’m not anyone else. Just because we have the same name, he treats me like I’m the same person and hates me. It makes absolutely no sense."
