The Ordinary Man's Extraordinary Second Life In Another World!
Chapter 125: The Drunken Viktor
"Viktor, come on, stay with me!"
"Q... Qiu Nuoya...?" Unlike that time, Viktor seemed to be conscious. His voice was weak, but hearing him call Qiu Nuoya’s name was enough to make him breathe a sigh of relief.
Acute alcohol poisoning was no joke. It could even be fatal. Forcing someone to drink like this was absolutely unacceptable!
"Thank goodness. Do you feel sick? Are you all right? I’ll get you some water..." As Qiu Nuoya turned toward the kitchen to fetch some water, Viktor suddenly wrapped both arms tightly around his waist. "Nuoya, Nuoya... Don’t leave me."
"I’m just going to get you some water, so wait here for a moment..."
"No!" The way Viktor shook his head was strangely childlike. He hugged Qiu Nuoya tightly, almost painfully so. When Qiu Nuoya looked at him closely, he noticed that a flush was gradually spreading from Viktor’s ears down along his neck.
"Don’t leave me behind. Please, love me more!" Viktor shook his head as if desperately refusing, then looked up at Qiu Nuoya with teary eyes.
"It’s all right. I’ll be back soon, okay?"
"No. I don’t want you to go. I absolutely won’t let you go."
The moment Qiu Nuoya saw Viktor acting like a spoiled child, he realized that this was already hopeless. Viktor was already unusually attached to him, and in this state, there was simply nothing Qiu Nuoya could do.
When Viktor got completely drunk, he became a crybaby and started clinging to Qiu Nuoya like a child. Viktor had regretted showing such an embarrassing side of himself, which was why he had not touched alcohol for the past three years.
Qiu Nuoya gently stroked Viktor’s head as he continued crying without loosening his tight embrace. This was troublesome. At this rate, Viktor probably would not let him go until he finally fell asleep.
"Nuoya, should I go get some water?" Warren who had been completely overwhelmed by the atmosphere and had practically faded into the background timidly spoke to Qiu Nuoya.
"Thanks, Warren. Please do." Qiu Nuoya bowed his head gratefully.
"Viktor is such a clingy drunk, just like always."
"How can you say that when you’re the one who caused this? You should be ashamed of yourself!"
"When a new member joins, it’s best to show them something like this right away. If they know beforehand that this is what Viktor becomes like when he drinks, there won’t be any strange misunderstandings later, right? Besides, it’s Viktor’s fault for becoming clingy with everyone whenever he drinks. Anyone who gets flirted with by him is just as much a victim." Igor said all that with a completely carefree expression.
Wait, he did this on purpose!?
[ Huh? Does this guy become a completely different person when he drinks? What a strange fellow. ]
Long looked at Viktor with an exasperated expression. Viktor certainly had a bad habit when it came to drinking, but he knew that about himself and had deliberately refrained from drinking because of it. Qiu Nuoya felt that it was a little unfair to criticize him for it.
While they were talking, Warren returned with a cup of water and handed it to Qiu Nuoya.
"Viktor, drink this. Then let’s go to bed for tonight, okay?"
"No! I won’t drink it! I hate him." Viktor had completely regressed into a childlike state. Apparently displeased with the water Warren had brought, he turned his head away with a pout.
"Why does you hate Warren so much? Warren hasn’t done anything to you, has he?"
"I hate his name."
"Huh?"
"Just hearing that name reminds me of nothing but unpleasant things. I hate his very existence. He took everything away from me, so I hate him!"
Qiu Nuoya could not make any sense of it. What on earth had Warren supposedly taken away from Viktor? More importantly, did Viktor hold a grudge against someone else named Warren? If so, was he not simply taking his anger out on the wrong person?
"I’ve always thought there was something strange about the way Viktor treats Warren, but his name, huh? Warren is a pretty common name, so I wonder if something traumatic happened to him involving someone with that name."
"I am honestly shocked that he hates me because of my name. No wonder Viktor has never called me by my name even once..."
"Is Warren really such a common name?"
"Well, I suppose it is. After all, it was the name of the first king of the Velikorya Kingdom. I hear he was a brave and brilliant man, a wise ruler who was also known for his excellent character. Naturally, parents would want their children to inherit such a name."
Qiu Nuoya’s eyes widened.
The first king? Could he be the one who married Saint Qiu Tailang!? Wait, but when he read about him in the history books, he was not called that.
Qiu Nuoya voiced his question, and the answer he received was simple.
"Warren is just a nickname."
"The official name was Warrington de Velikorya. Apparently, ’Warren’ was a nickname his companions used to call him when he was an adventurer."
"I see..."
"Come to think of it, there is also a story, though I do not know whether it is true, that the First King possessed such immense power that he could even command dragons to obey him."
[ Hah! As if dragons would so easily submit to a human! ]
Just as Long said that, Viktor added sulkily, "That dragon did not obey His Majesty. It obeyed Qiu Tailang."
"You speak as if you saw it yourself. And who exactly is Qiu Tailang?"
"Apparently, he was the Saint who founded the Church."
"The Saint who founded the Church? Surely you mean the Saintess? I was under the impression that the Church was founded by Saintess Catherine who later became the King’s wife."
Viktor had told Qiu Nuoya that the existence of the Saint Qiu Tailang had been erased from history. Judging from Igor’s reaction, it certainly seemed that Igor had never heard of Qiu Tailang.
