Chapter 117: A Dragon’s Journey

As Qiu Nuoya continued pondering these possibilities, the area suddenly grew dark.

Wondering what had happened, he looked up at the sky and a tremendous gust of wind suddenly swept down, nearly blowing him off his feet.

Qiu Nuoya braced himself and resisted the force of the wind. The gust was so powerful that he could barely keep his eyes open, but he could hear the sound of wings cutting through the air.

At the same time, he heard a deep rumbling growl that seemed to crawl along the ground. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

Qiu Nuoya cautiously opened his eyes and when he looked toward the source of the growl, he was left speechless.

"I sensed the presence of the Creator God and came here. Just who are you?" The one glaring down at them with vivid red eyes was an absolutely enormous dragon, so terrifyingly huge that Qiu Nuoya could hardly comprehend its size.

"Whoa..." The guild employee’s eyes went wide, and he collapsed onto the ground in shock.

Qiu Nuoya would have liked to collapse in the same way, if possible. However, since the dragon had spoken directly to him, he could not simply ignore it. He forced strength into his legs and remained standing. "My name is Qiu Nuoya. I have received a small amount of divine protection from the Creator God, but I’m not a suspicious person."

"Hmm, I see. Then what have you come here to do?"

"Um... I suppose I’m here to look for a new tamed monster?" Qiu Nuoya had never imagined that he would encounter a dragon in a place like this, so his answer came out rather hesitantly.

He had been told that the monsters in this place chose their own tamers, but he had never imagined that he might actually be chosen by a dragon. Qiu Nuoya could not hide his confusion.

Wait, has he really chosen me? Maybe the dragon was simply attracted by the Creator God’s blessing and came over out of curiosity?

"Um, could it be that you might become my tamed monster? Is there any chance of that happening?" In response to Qiu Nuoya’s question, the enormous dragon narrowed its sharp red eyes and looked him over for a while before it said, "Ridiculous," and then it turning its head away.

"Haha, yeah, I figured."

"We dragons are not so cheap that we can be easily subjugated. However, the Elder wishes to meet you, so I will take you to him."

"Huh? The Elder? Take me where...?"

"Waaaaah!"

The dragon opened its enormous jaws, gently but firmly clamped them around Qiu Nuoya’s body, and began flapping its wings without giving him any chance to object.

Mochi hurriedly bounced around in panic before diving into the pocket of Qiu Nuoya’s robe.

Meanwhile, the guild employee was completely left behind as the dragon rose into the air.

"Wait, seriously!? Guild employee, help meeeee!" Qiu Nuoya’s desperate cry seemed to snap the employee back to his senses. He hurriedly grabbed onto the dragon’s body.

The dragon glanced at him briefly, but since it was already carrying Qiu Nuoya in its mouth, it presumably could not say anything.

Without paying any further attention to him, the dragon simply took off into the sky and so began Qiu Nuoya’s completely involuntary aerial journey with a dragon.

You said there was no danger! You liar!

However, unlike Qiu Nuoya who was being carried relatively securely in the dragon’s mouth, the guild employee was in a much more dangerous position and was desperately clinging to the dragon’s body. Because of that, Qiu Nuoya found it difficult to complain too much.

He could save the complaints until they got back safely. Yes, that sounded like a good plan.

It had been about fifteen minutes since the dragon had taken flight with Qiu Nuoya in its jaws.

The dimensional space was much larger than Qiu Nuoya had expected. Vast stretches of untouched wilderness continued endlessly in every direction.

Where exactly is this dragon taking them?

The dragon had said it was taking him to meet an Elder, but Qiu Nuoya did not know any dragons. He had no idea why he was being taken there in the first place.

Dragons were supposed to be beings so dangerous that nations had to gather high ranking adventurers and pour in state funds just to eliminate them. Yet here Qiu Nuoya was, having a perfectly normal conversation with one before being carried away by it.

What exactly is going on here?

"Guild employee, are you okay?"

"I... I’m so cold. I think I’m going to die." The guild employee was still clinging desperately to the dragon’s body, or rather, one of its legs. Since he was being exposed directly to the freezing wind rushing past the dragon, it was only natural that he was cold.

His complexion had also become quite pale.

Qiu Nuoya wanted to do something to help him, but there was little he could do while the dragon was still holding him firmly around the torso.

If Qiu Nuoya accidentally struggled and caused the dragon to tighten its grip, he could easily be crushed.

At the same time, if the guild employee fell from this height, there was almost no chance that he would survive.

"Mochi, that person who’s hanging on over there. Can you somehow bring him inside your barrier?"

At Qiu Nuoya’s request, Mochi simply replied, [ Okay~ ]

The slime crawled out from inside Qiu Nuoya’s robe and pressed itself tightly against the dragon’s body to keep from being blown away by the powerful wind. Then Mochi slowly made its way toward the guild employee and enveloped him within its body, bringing him safely inside its protective barrier.

The guild employee stared in shock at the sudden turn of events. However, since Mochi was clinging to the dragon’s leg like a pouch, the inside of Mochi’s body was probably protected from the wind pressure and because Mochi itself was attached securely to the dragon’s leg, there was little chance of it falling.
