Igor’s wife apparently lives in the royal capital with their daughter and currently runs the inn she inherited from her parents. Her name is Lilica.

Apparently, Igor had stayed at her inn and fallen in love with her at first sight when he saw her serving customers in the dining hall. He pursued her relentlessly until he finally won her over.

Lilica was a human, so her parents had initially been strongly opposed to her marrying Igor, who was a beastman. However, with support and encouragement from the people around them, the two were eventually able to marry.

They had one daughter named Aria. Sometimes Igor would look at Qiu Nuoya and mutter, "She must have grown so much by now."

Apparently, Lilica had remarried while Igor was away. Still, since the two of them had not separated because they hated each other, Qiu Nuoya sometimes thought Igor should go see her at least once.

However, Qiu Nuoya had absolutely no experience with the complicated dynamics between men and women. He was still single and had never even had a girlfriend, so there was no way he could understand such things. He decided it was better not to say anything.

"By the way, what was the forty eighth floor of Dungeon Castle like?"

"Hmm... If I had to describe it in one word, I’d say it was the open ocean."

"The open ocean? Wait, you mean the sea?"

"That’s right. There was water stretching as far as the eye could see. We had no idea what to do."

According to Igor, after descending the stairs leading to the forty eighth floor, they had found nothing but an enormous expanse of water.

What was more, because the interior of the dungeon existed in another dimension, there was even sunlight shining down on it.

In other words, it was basically a midsummer ocean, complete with monsters.

They could hardly swim across an endless ocean, and they had no materials with which to build a boat.

They had been left wondering, What are we supposed to do with this?

Then Viktor had apparently said, "Well, I suppose there are times like this," before pulling a simple boat out of his magic bag.

Is Viktor’s magic bag a four dimensional pocket!?

Well, functionally speaking, it absolutely was a four dimensional pocket!

"Does that bag even have a boat inside it? More importantly, how does a boat even fit in there!?"

"As Igor just said, it is only a simple boat. It is made by processing the intestinal membrane of a large monster. You inflate it with air when you use it, so it can be stored compactly when being transported."

Put that way, it was basically an inflatable boat.

So things like that existed in this world too. The range of uses for monster materials was surprisingly broad. It made sense that various monster parts could fetch such high prices when sold.

"But wouldn’t it be difficult to deal with monsters if you’re using a simple boat like that?" Qiu Nuoya could imagine dungeon exploration in an ordinary ship, but going into a dungeon on an inflatable boat was difficult for him to picture.

Fighting monsters that lived in the water would surely be difficult as well. Qiu Nuoya did not even know how deep the water was, but simply falling into it could potentially be fatal.

"That’s why we only looked around and came back this time. To clear that floor, we might need to prepare a proper ship. Alternatively, we could arrange for a tamed monster capable of carrying us while swimming, or one that can fly."

"Igor, are you suggesting that we recruit a new tamer to join us? I refuse. I would rather freeze the surface of the ocean and make a path out of ice."

"Do you realize how ridiculously difficult that would be?"

"I know it would be difficult. But I’m saying that I dislike the alternative so much that I would rather go to that much trouble."

Igor and Viktor had already started discussing how they would tackle the forty eighth floor in the future. Qiu Nuoya wished there were something he could do to help, but the only thing he could really contribute was making delicious packed meals for them to take along.

"Oh, wait. We already have someone perfect for the job."

"Someone perfect? What are you talking about? I just said I don’t want to add another companion..."

"But you’d be happy if Nuoya could come with us too, wouldn’t you?"

"What? There’s no way I could take Nuoya to a place that dangerous!"

"But Nuoya does have an aptitude for being a tamer."

"Huh? Wait, what are they talking about?"

"That is true, but he doesn’t have a tamed monster. Mochi can swim, or rather, it can float, but it lacks both combat ability and mobility."

"What if we bought Nuoya a new tamed monster? There should be a Tamer’s Guild in this city, right? If we’re going to do that, it would be better to find one that can fly."

"That will depend on the compatibility between Nuoya and the tamed monster..." With that, Igor and Viktor both turned to look at Qiu Nuoya. "So, how about we visit the Tamer’s Guild tomorrow, Nuoya?"

"Wait, what? I have absolutely no idea what you two are talking about!"

"We need some kind of strategy if we’re going to clear the forty eighth floor. If Nuoya can form a tamer contract with a flying monster, it would help us tremendously."

"Do you mean a monster like a Wyvern as a tamed monster?" Qiu Nuoya did have the Tamer skill, but the only monster he currently had with him was Mochi.

To Qiu Nuoya, a tamed monster was essentially like a pet dog or cat. He believed that the owner had a responsibility to properly care for their pet.

That was why he had decided never to keep a pet that he could not properly care for. But Wyverns were fairly large, if he remembered correctly. Could he really handle one?
