Chris was betraying the Rashk Kingdom so easily. Arthur was stunned to see it. It wasn’t just a simple betrayal. He definitely had a quest, and that was why he was there, so was he really giving up on that quest?

Arthur didn’t overthink it and just ran to help Thalindra. The poor elf had been trying her best to dodge the enemy’s attacks for a while now, and she wasn’t 100% successful. Her left sleeve had been cut, along with her arm. It wasn’t a deep cut, but it was a wound that needed treatment nonetheless.

Arthur quickly caught up to the soldiers, who were already completely in shock from seeing Divine and Vans wiped out so fast. They already knew those players and had been counting on their support.

Attacks came from 3 fronts. Arthur used his sword, closing in on the soldiers with Blade Dash, dealing damage and blinking at the same time. Thalindra moved with flawless agility, slashing the soldiers with her poisoned daggers.

And finally, Chris was hanging back, casting fire spells from a distance. The guy was kind of clumsy, which was the total opposite of all that swagger he had earlier.

A lot of the fire spells he launched almost hit Arthur, who turned his head to glare at Chris, trying to figure out if it was on purpose or not.

"My bad, aimed wrong," Chris called out from across the battlefield.

He had that kind of vibe where you couldn’t tell if he was serious or actually trying to hit him, almost like a professional rage baiter...

Either way, it didn’t take long to take the soldiers down. Arthur got around 1600 EXP after finishing them off, which was great. On top of that, he got other drops.

[+1 Silver Coin]

[Soldier’s Plate Chestpiece]

[Soldier’s Plate Gauntlets]

In the end, he received about 4 silver coins and those 2 armor pieces, which wouldn’t be super useful to him. His crafted items were always superior. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t sell them to make some quick cash.

’I’ll sell it to some idiot player,’ Arthur thought, a greedy smile forming on his face.

On top of those items, Vans had dropped his sword when Arthur killed him. He walked over to the player’s body, which was still lying there, and picked up the sword.

[Simple Steel Sword (Common)]

[Damage: 30-30]

Compared to the sword he had, that thing was complete garbage...

Chris walked over to him and pleaded.

"Could you let me keep that item? My friend Vans is going to be super pissed if he loses his only weapon... The poor guy barely has enough cash to buy potions, let alone another sword."

Arthur handed him the sword and said, "It’s not because I’m your friend, it’s just that this sword is complete trash. Didn’t your friend drop anything better?"

Chris looked embarrassed as he took the sword back.

"He has terrible drop luck. Poor guy. And you know what the worst part is? Deep down, he watches your videos and tries to learn how to fight like you. Now that he saw you’re a Swordsman too, man. He’s going to spend hours watching them..."

Even the so-called haters were watching Arthur’s content in secret. Classic. They all wanted to keep themselves updates on his adventures.

Arthur pulled Chris over to a corner so Thalindra wouldn’t hear.

"Are you really going to help me? I mean, you’d lose the quest you got. I’m guessing it’s high difficulty with good rewards," Arthur asked, not really sure if the player would actually help him.

The answer was completely different from what he was expecting.

Chris looked embarrassed again, giving an awkward smile while scratching the back of his neck. "What if I told you we don’t even have any quests?"

Silence took over. Arthur stared at him for a few seconds, trying to read his expression to see if he was actually telling the truth.

"No fucking way," Arthur said. "I don’t believe it. You’ve gotta be lying."

He threatened to draw his sword. Chris quickly took a step back.

"I’m telling the truth. There’s an option to share the quest log, right? I’ll show you."

There really was an option to share ALL the quests in the quest log. Not share in the sense of inviting another player to complete quests together, but to show the details of whatever quests were active at that moment.

Still, few players ever did that since it could reveal their secret quests, or even main quests. Since it was the start of the game, that wasn’t really a problem, after all, nobody had many quests anyway.

Arthur could barely believe it when Chris showed him his entire quest log. That wasn’t something many people would do. He read through Chris’s quests, not all the details, just the main points to see if he was telling the truth.

There were a total of 3 quests in his log, and none of them said anything about the elven forest, the elven settlement, or helping the Rashk Kingdom army...

"You were actually telling the truth? What the fuck?" Arthur said with a deep frown. "So why are you here in the first place?"

Chris looked embarrassed again to admit what his group was up to.

"We were just walking near the border and saw some soldiers crossing it, so we thought, why not follow them? The border is usually impossible to get through without dying, so having them there was the only reason we managed to make it through..."

They were basically just curious players looking for hidden quests. Arthur honestly respected the hustle.

"You’re the first players to reach this place, well, with the exception of me and my friend," Arthur said. "That’s commendable. But now, you have to help me deal with the soldiers in that camp."

Hearing that, Chris got anxious again.

"Won’t that make me a traitor? That’s not good, right? What if I can’t even go back to the kingdom I spawned in?"

"That could happen, yes, but I have something better for you. How about you help me not just with the soldiers in that camp, but with the whole war? You could become a spy for the Aldora Kingdom and get some juicy rewards," Arthur laid the offer out in front of him.

Arthur wasn’t lying. That really could happen. If he talked to Ray, Chris and his 2 friends could get quests with amazing rewards they never even dreamed of before.

"And in the end, you guys could become residents of the Aldora Kingdom. What do you think? Could be interesting. Or do you have other friends in the Rashk Kingdom you can’t leave behind?"

Chris shook his head. "It’s just the 3 of us, and we don’t have a guild either. But are you being serious? I don’t know, man, this feels kinda sketchy."

"How about you help take care of the soldiers first, and then I take you to the city of Snow Pine to talk to the ruler there? That way, you can see the rewards for yourself. Worst-case scenario, you die and go back to your kingdom."

"If we kill all the soldiers here in the forest, nobody will know you helped. Zero witnesses."

Chris fell into thought, pacing back and forth.

"Let me talk to Vans and Divine. Wait a bit."
