— ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍Kyaaaaaaaa!

At ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍that moment, a sharp shriek pierced into my brain. It was the screaming of the fetuses sacrificed to this greatsword.

“Shh, ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍be quiet now. I will let you do what you wanted.”

I gently stroked the greatsword and then gripped it firmly with both hands.

“What… what are you trying to do.”

“I am going to kill you with this greatsword.”

I looked at his head and slowly raised the greatsword. At that moment, the shrieking that had been rampaging in my head subsided.

Then, the greatsword trembled low with excitement.

“Do you see this? Die by the greatsword, as the fetuses trapped inside are looking forward to it.”

Originally, a fetus cannot have proper thoughts. Nevertheless, every fetus trapped inside this greatsword instinctively craved a single wish.

“Stop it. Damn it, get away! I just… I just wanted to become strong!”

“I know. And you failed. Failure always comes with a price.”

I wore a smile.

“How many souls of fetuses are trapped in this greatsword? Hundreds? Or thousands? I did not kill them, so I have no idea. But you probably know.”

The greatsword swung over his head. The blade of the greatsword sliced through his head.

The head fell to the floor and rolled, and blood poured from the bloated, headless corpse.

“Go and have a good time with the kids. The souls of the countless fetuses you killed are desperately hoping for your soul to arrive inside the greatsword.”

What the suffering fetuses inside the greatsword wanted from him was definitely not something like a rattle toy.

Who knows, if he apologized sincerely, the fetuses trapped in the greatsword might go easy on him?

I simply handed his soul over to the fetuses, and whether they forgave him or not was none of my business.

“I think we found everything we need.”

Jung Oh-hoon carried several large boxes. They were filled with the problematic black stones.

“Good grief, it makes me wonder where on earth they sourced all of these.”

Han Sang-ah flicked a USB toward me. I caught the USB, tucked it into my pocket, and spoke to her.

“How about it? Did you get anything?”

At my words, Han Sang-ah gave a slightly more ambiguous answer than expected.

“It seems so, but it looks like we will have to continue with an additional investigation.”

“Dear me, there is no time for additional investigations.”

Since the job was done, we had to rest at the hotel for a few days and then prepare to deal with Gonsalok.

Time was far too tight to get involved in things like smuggling any further.

“Grandfather will not like it much.”

“I cannot leave Gonsalok alone just to suit your grandfather's mood. If he is dissatisfied, tell him to go stop Gonsalok himself.”

The thing one can catch by swinging bundles of cash like a sword is a person, not a monster. When Han Sang-ah pulled out her smartphone, I spoke quickly.

“No, don't actually say it like that. It is just that Gonsalok is the priority.”

I also had many questions about the relationship between the black stones we secured and the Korean government. I had the intention to investigate further.

But since the corpses that occupied Beijing might slap Korea across the face, I was just pushing it back for a bit.

“I understand.”

While Han Sang-ah contacted Chairman Han Sang-cheol, I tried to contact Lee Se-eun.

— Yo, what is it. Won’t you stay still? Your arm will break!

Following the bold statement, a powerful explosion was heard over the receiver. It seemed she was still fighting.

“Do you need help?”

— Nah, it is almost over… Argh!

Along with a scream full of pain, the voice of a man shouting, "My arm! My arm!" was heard.

Did she eventually break it? It seemed she chose a typical Batman-style non-lethalism.

“I found a passage leading outside. Should I open it?”

At that moment, Jung Oh-hoon answered quickly.

“No, there is no need for that. There was a status log on the desk in the security room.”

According to Jung Oh-hoon, the duty personnel in the security room seemed to change shifts every three hours.

“According to what is written in the log, they finished the shift change 13 minutes before we arrived. How about just heading back the way we came?”

Han Sang-ah immediately countered Jung Oh-hoon's opinion.

“Think about the hole I made. No matter how fast we moved, the security room would have already contacted the police.”

Han Sang-ah's point made sense… but I thought about it a bit more and then smirked.

“It is fine. We can sufficiently deal with that. Let us go with what Jung Oh-hoon said.”

It was a sudden thought, but that way seemed safer instead.

I rummaged through the corpse I had just killed with the greatsword, found the equipment that created the sub-space, and threw it to Jung Oh-hoon.

It was a small brooch.

“You take it. It is a sub-space device.”

After checking it once, the usage was not difficult. Jung Oh-hoon accepted the equipment and looked at me.

“Is it okay for me to use this?”

“You will be able to use it most usefully. Do not ask useless questions and quickly sweep up anything useful among the smuggled goods here.”

What else would a guest who came secretly have to do besides stealing. Since we were stealing smuggled goods anyway, we could just think of it as a somewhat good deed of stealing.

“Take this greatsword too. But never think about using it.”

I warned Jung Oh-hoon while gesturing with my chin toward the original owner of the greatsword. He would end up like that.

“I don't use barbaric weapons like greatswords.”

Afterward, Jung Oh-hoon quickly appraised the smuggled goods and packed items, then looked at the dagger held in my hand.

“What about that dagger?”

“I am going to break this.”

As soon as I finished speaking, I immediately gripped the dagger with both hands and snapped it in half. At that moment, a stream of water poured from the broken dagger and was sucked into the greatsword.

It seemed the souls inside this dagger also had business with the guy inside that greatsword. After watching that sight for a moment, I discarded the broken dagger.

About 30 minutes later, Jung Oh-hoon packed things that looked useful and gathered the rest of the smuggled goods and black stones in one place.

There were plenty of explosives among the smuggled goods. It was a bit insufficient to blow up this entire warehouse, but it was enough to destroy the gathered smuggled goods and black stones.

“Let us finish up and get out of here.”

There was no more business here. Jung Oh-hoon tried to put his mask back on.

“Put the mask and the coat into the sub-space and hide them.”

“Huh? Then our identities…”

“It is fine. It is safer that way instead. Ah, and Han Sang-ah, you open the door of the passage leading outside.”

After giving the instructions, I looked at the pile of smuggled goods and black stones.

“Then, boom.”

After distancing myself sufficiently from the piled smuggled goods, I pressed the detonator.

It was a warehouse deep underground anyway, and since it was a place for storing smuggled goods, the soundproofing was well done. The sound of the explosion would not have leaked outside.

The items were completely destroyed.

We immediately went back up the secret passage and opened the door connecting the passage to the security room.

“Stop!”

The police immediately pointed their guns at us. I immediately raised both hands.

“Calm down.”

The police who confirmed our faces wore flustered expressions.

“It is the Headhunter. Why are you here…?”

“I was spending time at the rooftop bar with Chairman Han Sang-cheol, and I confirmed suspicious movements in the casino.”

At my words, the police still looked at me with bewildered expressions while pointing their guns.

“Wondering if it might be the guys who caused the explosion in the casino, I asked for Chairman Han Sang-cheol's understanding and jumped straight from the rooftop bar to the casino.”

The CCTV in the security room had lost its function anyway.

“I moved through the hole in the casino wall and arrived at the security room.”

Afterward, we discovered that secret passage in the security room and entered it.

“Hunter Yoo Chan-seok. Is there a way to prove those words?”

The policeman asked back.

It was a natural question, but there was no way for us to prove those words were true. Because it was a lie. How do you prove a lie is the truth?

“I did not think that far. Because those guys were moving fast, I hurried.”

There was no evidence. What were they going to do? But did they have evidence to be certain that my words were a lie anyway?

Of course, since I was the one making the claim, it was right that I should first present the grounds that my words were correct. But the world never works in the right way anyway.

I maintained the posture of raising both hands and wore a regrettable expression.

“Calm down. There is no reason for us to cause such an incident.”

At my words, the police looked at each other for a moment. What I said was not actually wrong. Why would we bother barging into a perfectly fine hotel security room and knocking people unconscious?

“Ah, and it is a bit much to call it grounds but… this hotel existed since before I became a hunter, did it not?”

“That is… true.”

I continued to persuade the police with a subtle voice.

“I was at best an intern at a logistics company. Are you saying that I interfered with the hotel and made such a secret passage?”

It was not like I belonged to the Illuminati or the Freemasons.

“I even walked around that secret passage, and it is very deep.”

Hearing my words to that point, the police slowly lowered their hands. In the meantime, one policeman looked at Han Sang-ah.

“But Hunter Han Sang-ah is from Geumyang Group…”

“This hotel is not owned by Geumyang Group.”

At my words, even that policeman shut his mouth. If Han Sang-ah wanted to do something like this, she would have obviously caused an incident at a hotel under Geumyang Group.

No matter if they were one of the construction companies, there was no reason to dig up the basement of this hotel instead of a building owned by Geumyang Group.

While we were talking, people dressed attractively in suits and sunglasses suddenly entered the security room. Those guys glanced at the police once, showed them something, and said.

“Leave the room for a moment, please.”

The police checked what the men in suits presented and immediately left with pale faces. The black sunglasses looked at us.

“It seems like you are in a mood to take us somewhere and waterboard us if we say one thing wrong.”

At my words, the man in the suit standing at the front opened his mouth.

“Where would there be a person with the guts to waterboard a hunter. Hunter Yoo Chan-seok.”

When he gestured slightly, the men in suits standing behind lined up in front of the exit leading to the hotel.

And their leader walked to the table, sat in a chair, and pointed to the chair opposite with his hand.

“Please sit. Shall we talk for a bit.”

“In this atmosphere? Sure. Can I eat seolleongtang too?”

As the three of us, including myself, tried to sit, he immediately raised his hand.

“Hunter Han Sang-ah may return. Hunter Jung Oh-hoon, you shall talk with someone else, not me.”

Are you discriminating because she is the granddaughter of the Chairman of Geumyang Group? Han Sang-ah did not move despite those words.

“It is fine, so go first. If you have the spare time, could you go and order some seolleongtang for delivery? It looks like they will not give me any here.”

Han Sang-ah looked back and forth between me and Jung Oh-hoon for a moment, then nodded and left. Jung Oh-hoon headed elsewhere according to the guidance of the other men in suits.

The mouth of the man in the suit, who was tapping the desk with his index fingernail, opened.

“Well then. Let me ask some questions now.”

Ah, now that no one is watching, you are going to use informal speech?

“Go ahead and ask.”

“What are you trusting in to act so cocky?”
