After Yun Sui’s grandfather died, he was taken up the mountain to live with Daoist Qingfeng.

Although Daoist Qingfeng himself wore an old, worn Daoist robe, he had someone make a new one for Yun Sui.

Yun Jiao, Yun Xiaowu, and the others often went up the mountain to visit him.

Half a month had passed since Grandpa Yun’s death, and Yun Sui wasn’t as sad anymore.

"Yun Sui! Yun Sui! Look what we caught!"

Yun Jiao and her brothers ran up the mountain, carrying a large coconut crab and several coconuts.

At that moment, Yun Sui was holding a small wooden sword, meticulously practicing his forms.

His eyes lit up when he heard Yun Jiao’s voice.

"Jiaojiao..."

He had just taken a step forward when he heard his master let out two soft coughs.

He looked over with pleading eyes.

"Grandpa Daoist, aren’t you eating? I brought this just for you."

Daoist Qingfeng chuckled softly.

"Of course I’ll eat. Why wouldn’t I?"

"Whoa, this one is pretty big."

Yun Jiao nodded. Of course it was.

"Come on, let’s get a fire going."

Besides the coconut crab, they had naturally brought other food as well.

Daoist Qingfeng’s cooking skills were quite good, and soon, everyone was sitting under a large tree, enjoying a fragrant meal.

After burning incense for the immortals in the temple, they played on the mountain until late before preparing to leave.

"We’re leaving now! We’ll come play with you again next time."

Yun Jiao said goodbye to Yun Sui.

Yun Sui nodded, standing at the mountain pass and watching them until they were gone.

Daoist Qingfeng walked to his side and patted his head.

"Come on, kid. It’s time to go back and do your studies."

Yun Sui grunted in agreement and turned to follow his master back to their quarters.

「Time flew by.」

Yun Linhai and the others had already taken their new boat out fishing several times. With the diesel engine on the steel-hulled boat, everything from sailing to trawling was much more convenient.

They could travel farther and catch more big fish.

The villagers who didn’t have steel-hulled boats yet looked on with envy.

In their eyes, that steel-hulled boat was a stunning beauty!

"Jiaojiao, your godfather and godmother are here."

Yun Jiao was panting; she had been dancing.

She had been dancing for three hours and had perfectly executed all the difficult moves her teacher taught her.

It had to be said, her flexibility and aptitude were both excellent. Every time Xie San Niang watched her dance, she felt like she’d discovered a precious treasure.

Yun Jiao discovered that by learning dance and opera from her teacher, some of her physical shortcomings on land were gradually being overcome.

For example, she hadn’t been able to climb trees before, and she wasn’t a particularly fast runner on land.

But after studying with her teacher, and occasionally going up the mountain to train with Yun Sui and learn Daoist Qingfeng’s martial arts, her body gradually became lighter. Climbing trees, vaulting over walls, and jumping were all effortless now.

Hearing her dad’s voice, Yun Jiao wiped the sweat from her brow and ran outside.

"Godfather, Godmother."

"Jiaojiao, did you miss us?"

Yun Jiao nodded. "I did."

She poured them some tea.

"Why are you so sweaty?" Wang Yun asked.

Yun Jiao sat down beside her. "I was dancing."

Wang Yun said, "If I remember correctly, aren’t you still studying traditional Chinese medicine? How did you end up learning to dance too?"

Yun Jiao propped her chin on her small hands. "Well, I originally wanted to learn a musical instrument, but my teacher said I was a genius, so now I’m learning dance and opera too."

Wang Yun sucked in a breath. "Our Jiaojiao must be exhausted."

Yun Jiao nodded. ’You can say that again.’

’I’ve even had to cut back on my time out at sea.’

’And on top of all that, Mom and Dad still want me to go to school.’

Sun Yaotong started discussing the shipwreck salvage with Mr. Yun and the others.

"Do you all want to come see? I’ve hired professional divers, and I can set aside a couple of sets of diving gear for you."

Yun Linhe chuckled. "Oh, we couldn’t possibly impose."

But he didn’t refuse.

After all, they really wanted to see the depths of the ocean. But without diving equipment, even skilled swimmers like them who had grown up by the sea couldn’t go too deep.

Sun Yaotong said, "It’s no problem. Jiaojiao is going too, and I’ll feel better if you two are there to keep an eye on things."

Mr. Yun laughed heartily. "Then we’ll have to thank you. You must stay and have dinner with us tonight."

Sun Yaotong and Wang Yun readily accepted.

The Yun family prepared a sumptuous dinner, complete with wine.

It was a large gathering, but the atmosphere was one of joyful harmony.

「Two days later.」

With everything prepared, they were ready to set out for the shipwreck salvage.

Just as they were about to board the boat, Yun Xiaowu and the other boys came running out.

"Wait! Wait for us!"

The moment Yun Linhai and Yun Linhe saw them, they wanted to grab a whip and start lashing out.

"Weren’t you supposed to be at school? What are you doing here?!"

Yun Xiaowu and the others shrank back, knowing they were in for a beating they couldn’t escape.

But even if it meant getting a beating, they were determined to go with them.

"We want to go too!"
