The killer whales loved to play with balls.

So, Yun Jiao decided to take a page from her Fifth Brother’s school and organized a unique soccer match on the sea.

The rules were simple. The killer whales and dolphins were mixed together and split into two teams, and Yun Jiao had already marked their foreheads with red and blue paint.

The first team to get the ball to her would win.

The winning team would get extra food and a hug from Yun Jiao.

Both the killer whales and the dolphins loved the idea.

After Yun Jiao threw the ball out, the killer whales and dolphins scrambled to be the first to get it.

They bumped it with their heads and slapped it with their tails.

Although the dolphins were smaller, they were agile, weaving between the killer whales with nimble maneuvers to launch surprise attacks.

For a while, the sea was a flurry of activity.

The killer whales’ tails were incredibly powerful, capable of sending the ball high and far with a single slap.

But accurately hitting it all the way to Yun Jiao was still a bit difficult.

If it landed on the shore, someone would just pick it up and throw it back in.

On the shore, a crowd of children and young people from Bailong Village had gathered to watch the fun, their cheers and shouts of encouragement echoing from time to time.

This spectacle left Wang Yi and Gu Chen, who were seeing it for the first time, completely stunned.

It was even more exciting than the basketball games at their school.

’Killer whales and dolphins playing soccer... who has ever seen anything like it?!’

When Wang Yi snapped out of it, he didn’t say a word. He just raised his camera and started taking pictures nonstop.

His mother worked for a newspaper, so there was always a camera at home. Influenced by her, he was quite skilled with it and took very good photos.

Eventually, the two of them got so excited they joined the village kids of all ages in shouting and cheering.

Sometimes, adults passing by would also stop to take a look.

And after watching for a while, they found it hard to leave.

There was already little entertainment in the village. Now, this marine soccer match between killer whales and dolphins had become the most exciting and lively event in Bailong Village, and maybe even for miles around the coastal region.

Unfortunately, the event wasn’t a regular occurrence. Yun Jiao didn’t call the killer whales over to play every day; more often, they would all go out to play in the open sea.

The match went on for quite some time, and when it ended, everyone was left wanting more.

But it was the killer whales’ feeding time, and they had to go hunt.

Otherwise, they would have loved to keep playing.

Killer whales are very playful. Now that they had a regular game, this pod rarely bothered other marine animals anymore.

After seeing off the reluctant killer whales, Yun Jiao picked up the ball and called for her brothers to head home.

"Jiaojiao, when’s the next match? That was so cool! It’s a shame I can’t play."

Yun Jiao replied, "No way. You can’t beat the killer whales. You’d get hurt."

Never mind the killer whales—even a dolphin, with its physique, could easily break a few bones if it rammed into you or swiped you with its tail.

"I know, I know. I was just saying."

Gu Chen sidled up too, asking with a fawning, eager expression.

"Jiaojiao, you have to tell me when the next match is! I’ll go get a video camera. The footage will be absolutely incredible!"

Yun Jiao tilted her head slightly. "We’ll see when you come visit next time."

"Okay, okay! I’ll come find you as soon as I get my hands on a video camera!"

’I’m going to go pester my dad as soon as I get back!’

"I want to come too. Count me in next time," Wang Yi added.

Wang Yi wondered if he should try to get a video camera too, but he knew his dad would never allow it.

’But, I could ask Mom.’

When they got home, Shen Yunlian and Wang Mei had already finished making lunch.

Wang Jianlin and his wife were there too.

Liu Yun was dressed in a woman’s suit with a camera hanging around her neck, holding a notebook and jotting something down.

"Mom, what are you doing here?" Wang Yi asked.

Liu Yun brandished her notebook. "Of course I wanted to write a report on such a great story. I’m sure many people would be interested in you all bringing remains out of the sea for burial, not to mention building a village temple and ancestral hall."

Truth be told, some wealthier villages certainly had temples and ancestral halls, but it was rare for them to be expanded.

Of course, the most important part was that this time, the money had come from a single family—or to be more precise, from one little girl.

"Jiaojiao is still so young, so I don’t feel it’s right to mention your name in the paper. I’ll just say it was your family."

"There’s no need to hide it when you’ve done a good deed."

The Yun family all agreed to be in the paper. For people of that era, it was quite an honor.

The Wang family stayed for a meal before they left.

The following days passed in an orderly fashion, with the villagers busy with their work while Yun Jiao and Yun Xiao Ba went to the county town for their studies.

Soon, it was time for Yun Xiaowu and his friends to go back to school.

He still had some homework left to do, so his Third Brother was making him stay home and finish it.

The day before school started, he was finally done.

Yun Jiao went with a few of her brothers to the school for registration and had the pleasure of seeing how his classmates—the ones who had spent the entire summer vacation playing around and had barely written a word of their homework—were frantically trying to finish it all before registration.

Watching his classmates wail in despair, some even copying homework while crying, Yun Xiaowu felt a surge of superiority.

’Hahaha... Seeing other people suffer really does make me happy.’

"Tsk, tsk, tsk... I told you what would happen if you just played all break. Now you’re getting what you deserve."

"You have to suffer first to enjoy the sweet rewards later, don’t you get it? I’m so disappointed in all of you. If the teacher gets here and you’re not done, you can just wait to have your parents called."

"Sigh, you’re all useless. Why can’t you be a little more self-disciplined, like me?"

Yun Xiaowu was being a real pest. His classmates were already exhausted from rushing their homework, but he just had to go over and gloat with his smug, sarcastic remarks.

He was truly skilled at earning everyone’s hatred.

"Get lost!"

Someone, furious and embarrassed, threw a book at him.

Sitting in his seat, Yun Jiao was speechless.

She was holding a cup of milk tea and sipping it with gusto.

’This stuff is actually pretty good. I heard it started over in Hong Kong, and a shop just opened here this year.’

SLURP SLURP...

Once the milk tea was gone, Yun Jiao tossed the cup and dragged her trouble-making Fifth Brother out of the classroom.

"Brother Qi, what are you thinking about?"

Yun Xiaoqi was holding his milk tea cup, which still had a little left.

Come to think of it, Yun Jiao had been the one to treat them to the milk tea.

"Jiaojiao, do you like this stuff?"

Yun Jiao nodded. "Yeah, I love it. It’s really good."

Yun Xiaoqi immediately said, "This stuff doesn’t seem that hard to make. Mom and the others could probably figure it out. What do you think about us opening a milk tea shop near the school? I noticed when we were buying it earlier that most of the customers are kids and young people, and where are you going to find the most kids? At school, of course."

Yun Jiao stroked her chin. "You might be right."

"But who in our family would run the shop? It can’t be you, can it?"

Yun Xiaoqi replied, "Why not? I think I can do it."

He was always eager when it came to making money.

Yun Jiao had to hand it to her Brother Qi. He always had a ton of ideas for making a little money here and there. He didn’t care if it was a lot or a little, as long as it was something.

But he was also very stingy. He rarely spent any of the money he earned, and he would always leech off others if he had the chance.
