The lead railway officer hadn’t expected the little girl to have such skills.

Of course, the way she had dislocated the human trafficker’s wrist was also incredibly shocking.

"What about dislocating the trafficker’s wrist?"

Yun Jiao said, "I’m just strong."

Yun Linhe grinned from ear to ear and nodded. "That’s right, Officer. You see, our Jiaojiao’s senses—her nose, ears, and eyes—are just a little sharper. Her strength is a little greater than the average person’s, her memory is a little better, she’s a little smarter, and she’s a little prettier. Other than that, she’s nothing special. Just an ordinary kid."

Everyone was speechless.

’Wait a minute, is that how you’re supposed to put it?’

’Are you trying to be humble, or are you just showing off?’

The officer patted Yun Jiao’s head and left.

But he soon returned, asking Yun Jiao if she could pop the joint back into place, since she was the one who’d dislocated it.

Yun Jiao nodded.

This time, her family went with her, afraid that something else might happen.

With such a large and imposing group, anyone who didn’t know better would have thought they were going to start a fight.

When they reached the place where the traffickers were being held, Yun Jiao and her family heard a familiar sound before they even went inside—someone was wailing their lungs out.

’Does this mean they didn’t get their gold jewelry back?’

’How delightful.’

Yun Xiaowu and the others didn’t even try to hide their expressions; the corners of their mouths were turned up in smiles they couldn’t suppress.

Yun Jiao went inside and set the trafficker’s wrist back in place, then spoke under the astonished gazes of the railway officers.

"There, it’s done. I’m going back now. Bye-bye, sirs."

’Surprisingly polite, too.’

As for the wailing couple and the brat rolling on the floor screaming his head off, Yun Jiao didn’t spare them a single glance.

"Alright, alright... Take care on your way out, little one."

Once Yun Jiao was gone, the people inside immediately started talking.

"The difference between people can be so huge. A kid that small, already taking on villains."

Then you look at that brat over there, lying on the ground and howling—his voice is pure torture.

It wasn’t that they were biased; any normal person would prefer a child like Yun Jiao.

She was well-behaved, pretty, and capable.

Now that the real thieves had been caught, Yun Jiao and her family’s luggage no longer needed to be searched.

Wu Lan got off at the next stop. She was very reluctant to leave, hugging Yun Jiao and insisting that she remember to write to her.

The rest of the journey was peaceful. Without that family of three, they arrived at the Capital in peace and quiet.

The Capital’s train station was also very crowded.

Even in a sleeper car, the train ride was truly exhausting.

Old Wu invited them, "Why don’t you come stay at my place for now? Have a meal, get some rest, and tomorrow I’ll go with you to wire the money."

"Oh, that... that would be too much trouble. We’ll just go to a guesthouse."

’If it were just a few of us, staying at someone else’s house would be fine.’

’But with this many people, how could we possibly impose?’

With his hands behind his back, Mr. Mu suddenly said, "Come to my place."

Everyone looked at him.

He started walking ahead. "What are you all staring at me for? Let’s go."

The place where Mr. Mu lived was also a courtyard house.

It was a courtyard house with three main courtyards, and from the outside, it exuded a simple, antique charm.

But parts of the walls were crumbling at the corners.

Upon entering the main gate and stepping into the courtyard, they found it overgrown with weeds. Dilapidated furniture was scattered haphazardly on the ground. The doors were broken, as were the windows, and some of the roof tiles had large holes in them.

Countless spiders had made their homes here.

The group stood in the windy courtyard, no one saying a word. An awkward silence hung in the air, so thick you could almost see the crows flying overhead.

"Grandpa Mu, can people actually live here?"

There was no furniture, the place was overgrown with weeds from long neglect, and dust coated everything.

Just setting down their luggage sent clouds of dust billowing into their faces.

Mr. Mu was at a loss for words.

He hadn’t been back in a long time and never expected his courtyard house to fall into such a state.

’Damn it! Those bastards! Breaking into an empty house to steal things, and even smashing the place up!’

Old Wu chuckled. "Let’s just go to my place after all. I have two houses here. We can go to the one that’s currently empty."

Mr. Mu rubbed his nose in embarrassment and dejectedly led everyone over to Old Wu’s place.

On the way, he couldn’t help but complain, "We’re brothers, couldn’t you have found someone to help me tidy up the house?"

"You made me lose so much face today."

Old Wu snorted. "I thought you were never coming back. Why clean up the house for someone who isn’t returning?"

The two old men bickered back and forth.

On the same street, Old Wu’s courtyard house was immaculately kept. The yard was filled with flowers and plants, complete with a rockery and a pond. There were even koi swimming in the water. The whole place looked very tasteful.

"You all get some rest first. Once you’re well-rested, I’ll take you out to eat."

After Old Wu got them settled into their rooms, he left them with those words and then rushed off in a hurry with the ambergris.

They had eaten on the train, so they weren’t hungry now, but they were truly exhausted.

Once they lay down on the beds, it wasn’t long before they were all fast asleep.

When Yun Jiao woke up, Grandpa Mu was giving Grandpa Yun, Grandma, her father, and the others a tour of the courtyard house.

"These courtyard houses can have anywhere from two to five main courtyards. A four-courtyard one is typically where high-ranking officials lived in ancient times. Not only are they spacious, but they’re also built with the finest materials and come with gardens and the like."

"A couple of years ago, the prices were cheaper. You could get a two-courtyard house for six or seven thousand. But recently, the prices for these houses in the Capital have been climbing fast. Now, a two-courtyard house would probably cost over ten thousand. As for the three- or four-courtyard ones, you’re looking at fifty or sixty thousand at the very least, though that also depends on the condition of the property."

Grandpa Yun and the others gasped. "These houses... how can they be so expensive?"

A single house costing tens of thousands was something they couldn’t even begin to imagine.

But you had to admit, the house was truly beautiful.

Mr. Mu stood with his hands behind his back. "And that’s just the price of the house itself. For an old house with this much history, the repairs alone will cost a fortune. Then there’s the furniture, the flowers and plants in the yard, the pond water, the fish... it all costs money."

The Yun family thought, ’Listening to all this is making us not want to buy one anymore.’

Yun Jiao’s voice suddenly piped up, "Don’t worry! We have money! When we run out, we can just earn more!"

’The ambergris is worth almost ten million. A house that costs tens of thousands, or even over a hundred thousand, isn’t expensive at all.’

’Even if all the money is spent, I can just go back to the sea and look for more ambergris or other valuable treasures.’

Mr. Mu admired Yun Jiao’s spirited attitude.

"Look at you all. You’re not even as bold as a child. Isn’t money meant to be spent? Now that you have several million, are you just going to hoard it forever? What’s the point of saving it?"

"You should spend it. If you run out, you can earn more. It’s not like you can take it with you when you die."

Yun Lin Hai and the others scratched their heads.

’It’s just... we’ve never spent this much money before.’

After stowing the ambergris safely, Old Wu returned.

"Come on, let’s go! I’ll take you to wire the money and then we’ll get something to eat!"

Yun Jiao happened to be hungry, so she immediately perked up.

"Grandpa Wu, what’s the best food here?"

"Oh, there are plenty of delicious things! But if you’re asking about the most famous dishes, that would definitely be Beijing Roast Duck and *douzhi’er*."
