Ethan moved to his Beowolves, stared at them for a few moments as he assessed the damages...

Bef’s jaw hung opened, thin threads of flesh connecting its upper and lower halves. The other beowolf had its head bashed in, and was missing an eye.

Exhaled. He had summoned the wolves because using them in a battle would consume less energy. However, looking at how battered they were made him regret why he didn’t summon the golem instead...

After all, if he was smart about it, he would have finished this fight with more time to spare...

He crouched in front of Bef and rubbed its head. "Sorry about that." He wasn’t sure if they could understand him, but an apology was all he could give right now. He sighed, stood up and dismissed them back into storage.

```
[Ding!]
[Undead has been released.]
[Corpses have sustained damage to anatomy.]
[Undead Recovery is now active.]
```

He watched the system close and stared into the deeper part of the dungeon. He rolled his shoulders and kept moving...

The air in the second chamber was thinner as he noticed that the place itself seemed to had shrank. He looked around... he seemed to be in a narrower chamber. So narrow, that he was sure that if he stretched his hands, he would be able to touch both sides of the walls.

He walked a few more steps before a sudden change in pressure forced him to stop.

In front of him, something moved, as if iron was being dragged against the stone floor. It shifted again, and Ethan stepped back summoning the Iron Golem on instinct.

The beast rose from his shadow as green light filled it’s eyes when the connection settled.

The figure shifted again...

This time, it moved towards him. Slowly, it dragged itself out of the shadows and into the fading blue living where Ethan was finally able to see what it was.

```
[You have encountered: Iron Golem]
[Rank: C]
```

It was larger.... Not necessarily in hieght as it was just about a head taller than Ethan’s golem.

What made it feel large was the aura intensity radiating off of it. It’s metal plates were darker, causing it to gleam brighter as it moved again.

It had more interconnected joints that made it look more like something that was built and blue light intensified in its eyes when it looked at Ethan...

He stepped back. This was different from the iron golem he had used countless times before.

’But it’s still an iron golem. Even if it’s a rank above mine, fighting it shouldn’t be hard...’

The thought took root in his chest as he slowly stopped backing up, convincing himself that this was the same with the entity that was standing behind him.

"Go."

And boy, was he wrong...

His golem ran straight towards the C rank, clashing with it head on but that collision told the truth immediately.

The impact ended with a ring that forced his golem back and Ethan shuddered as he felt it through his link. It was like running into a wall.

He gave another order and his golem stepped back, and sidestepped, aiming to score a hit in its side.

The C rank blocked the hit and back handed his golem with a force strong enough to force it sideways and followed up with a blow that threw it into the wall.

His golem shuddered, then pulled itself out, narrowly dodging a right book that punched hole in the wall where it stood moments again.

The golem used this opening to try and deliver a hit of its own but its fist caught on ths jagged ceiling and brought down stone completely killing the momentum.

The C rank turned, picked the golem up and slammed it against the ground.

Ethan gritted his teeth. This was what he was afraid of...

When the arrived at the narrow chamber, he had hoped that this structure would not make fighting hard for him.

Unfortunately, he was right... His golem was in a really tight spot.

Literally...

Each time his golem tried to attack, either its hands or legs would be robbed of their attack power killing its potency. At a point, even moving to evade slowly became as hassle.

The C rank however, was doing just fine... it know how hard to hit, where to hit and was entirely unbothered by the narrow chamber.

Considering its size and it being bigger than his golem, it should have had the same issue...

However, that wasn’t the case. This was the c rank’s territory so of course it would have no problem moving here. Ever part of its body had been modeled to be able to thrive in this environment so seeing its enemy struggle here was an easy kill for it.

Ethan gritted his teeth. If he wanted to beat this thing he needed space. He needed to think of something, and fast..

He turned towards a tunnel, and an idea popped in his mind.

’What if, there was a wider chamber inside there?’

If there was, then all he need left was a plan to defeat this thing.

He exhale... "Golem, with me."

Then he took off running.

He sped through the tunnel with the golem following behind him.

The C rank grunted in anger and ran after them.

"Shit." When Ethan turned, he stumbled. The C rank was right behind them...

It ran in a way that each step covered a full stride as it slowly began closing the gap.

Ethan’s heart thundered in his chest as adrenaline flodded his system...

He pushed his legs harder, prompting his golem to move faster to keep up.

Twice, an iron hand almost grabbed him and once, both golems clashed.

They ran across the dark tunnel, and the c rank lunged...

Ethan’s golem reacted immediately— it wrapped it’s metallic hands around him and launched itself through the wall.

All three of them fell, hurdling into the chamber below.

**BOOM**

Dust filled a part of the chamber when they landed. The golem rolled onto its back, and opened its hands as Ethan rolled out, coughing out dust and gravel.

He took a few moments to catch his breath and looked around. They were in a bigger chamber...

The golems rose to their feet and took stance. Suddenly, tension filled the air.

"Alright," he said, coughing up dust "Let’s get this over with."
