The Nameless Extra: I Proofread This World
Chapter 338: Prove It
Still stunned by the sheer amount of Plot Points he had accumulated, Ruvian instinctively jerked his body upright, only for a sharp jolt of pain to immediately tear through him.
He had completely forgotten that his body was still recovering.
But for some reason, he could hardly bring himself to care about the pain right now. He was far too exhilarated, overwhelmed by a mixture of disbelief and barely contained excitement as he stared at the number before him.
’Isn’t this... a bit too much?’
Now, was that supposed to be a bad thing or a good thing?
Why, of course it was a good thing!
What kind of question was that?
’This is really good... With this many Plot Points, I can finally start preparing for my next plan.’
Ruvian had already expected to receive a considerable amount of Plot Points after everything that had happened during this arc.
In fact, he had been planning ahead for quite some time, which was also the reason he had been conserving most of his remaining Plot Points and only spending them whenever it was absolutely necessary.
After all, he already had plans for the examination break.
Once the academy entered its short holiday period, he intended to bring Calyra, Silvena, and several others with him to a certain place.
And that particular place was anything but safe.
Knowing what awaited them there, Ruvian had no intention of bringing everyone along without making at least some preparations beforehand. If possible, he wanted to strengthen them further before they departed, and the most straightforward way of doing that was through his [Power Scaling] skill.
Naturally, something like that would require a considerable amount of Plot Points.
Fortunately...
Judging by the number currently sitting before his eyes, that no longer seemed like much of a problem.
’Ah, right... before any of that, I still need to know the results of this island test. Which squads actually made it into the Top 10?’
Since the examination had been terminated much earlier than originally scheduled, Ruvian was fairly confident that his own squad had secured a place among them. Silvena’s squad should have made it as well.
But what about the rest?
There were still several people whose final standings he was curious about, especially since the abrupt end of the examination might have affected the rankings in ways no one had expected.
That was something he would like to find out.
"Hey..."
Julian suddenly called out to him.
He still had not turned around, leaving only his back facing Ruvian as he stood there in silence.
"You said we were going to talk about it later, right? So... what exactly are you? Why did my Mother call you by that name?"
By that name, Julian was obviously referring to the title Marielle had used before.
The Emissary of Fate.
Ruvian glanced over his shoulder at him.
’Right... there’s still this issue.’
He quietly sighed. Even now, he still had no idea what he was supposed to tell Julian about that. Because truthfully, Ruvian himself was still wondering the exact same thing.
Why had Marielle called him that?
Ruvian remained silent for a moment before finally deciding there was little point in making up an explanation.
It was probably better to simply be honest.
"I... don’t really know either."
Julian finally turned his head slightly.
Ruvian continued.
"At first, I thought your Mother might have seen a future where, among countless possible outcomes, this was the one where I ended up entering your memories and bringing you back."
He paused briefly before adding,
"So maybe that title had something to do with that. Maybe she already knew I would interfere with something that was supposed to happen."
Ruvian gave a small shrug.
"But that’s only my guess. Your Mother never exactly explained it to me."
Julian fell silent again. For a few seconds, he seemed to be considering Ruvian’s answer before another question surfaced.
"Then how did you know it would even work?"
Ruvian raised an eyebrow.
Julian finally turned around to face him properly.
"I mean entering my memories," his expression had become noticeably more serious. "How did you know there was a way to reach me in the first place? And how did you just happen to have a spell capable of entering someone’s mind?"
Julian paused, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"You were fighting that demon possessing my body, weren’t you? Yet somehow, in the middle of all that, you already knew exactly what you needed to do."
His gaze remained fixed on Ruvian.
"That doesn’t sound like something you came up with on the spot."
He hesitated for a moment before asking,
"So... how did you know?"
Faced with such a direct question, Ruvian fell silent and pondered for a moment. It was honestly rather troublesome that Julian had managed to corner him with such a good question.
He could just say that it was Ophelia’s idea, but still...
It was very risky.
It seemed there was no easy way of slipping past this one.
So, in the end, Ruvian decided to simply commit to the explanation he had already been given.
"Haa... I didn’t expect your Mother to possess a spell capable of catching glimpses of the future. I suppose there’s no point in keeping this a secret anymore."
He let out a dejected sigh before looking back at Julian.
"But it was just as she said, Julian — I’m the Emissary of Fate."
Then, after another short silence, he finally added,
"...I am someone that can see the future." (+1,000PP)

[Julian’s POV]
Hearing that, Julian’s expression visibly stiffened. His eyes widened for the briefest moment before narrowing almost immediately.
’What the hell is this guy bullshitting about?’
Seeing the future? That was completely insane.
Julian stared at Ruvian for another moment. Was he seriously expecting him to believe that? What kind of absurd fantasy was that supposed to be?
’Did he hit his head somewhere?’
’No... did I do it?’
For a fleeting second, he genuinely began wondering whether he had struck Ruvian too hard during their fight. Maybe one of those blows had rattled something loose inside his skull.
But then again... as far as he could remember, he hadn’t even managed to land a proper hit on him at all.
"You’re lying."
"I am not."
"No, you are. Do you seriously expect me to believe you’re suddenly claiming to be the next Necraz? Ha! Dream on. I’m not falling for that."
There were more than a few people throughout history who had tried to claim some connection to Necraz.
Some called themselves his descendants. Others insisted they had inherited his will, his memories, or even fragments of his power. There were also plenty of lunatics who simply declared themselves to be his reincarnation and expected everyone else to believe it.
Most of them were frauds.
A few had managed to fool nobles, merchants, or desperate believers for a time, usually by showing off some strange artifact or rare spell and attaching Necraz’s name to it. Others went even further, forming small cults around themselves and preaching that the First Witness of Ruin had somehow returned through them.
None of those stories ever ended well.
Some were eventually exposed as con artists, while others disappeared the moment someone actually demanded proof. A handful had even been executed after using Necraz’s name to manipulate entire cities or provoke political unrest.
Because of that, people had long since grown skeptical whenever someone claimed to possess anything even remotely connected to Necraz.
And claiming to be capable of seeing the future?
That was practically asking to be compared to him.
After all, Necraz Lox Mevillion was not remembered solely as one of the Seven Paragons.
He was remembered as the First Witness of Ruin, the man said to have glimpsed calamities before they ever came to pass.
So from Julian’s perspective, Ruvian suddenly claiming that he could see the future sounded no different from every other idiot throughout history who had tried to borrow Necraz’s legend for themselves.
"It’s up to you whether you believe me or not... but I really did see a vision where that demon stole your body. I even knew long beforehand that you were going to use that bounty card on me."
Julian’s expression faltered for the briefest moment, his brows drawing together as he stared at Ruvian.
Admittedly... he had a point.
But it was hardly enough to prove anything.
The matter with the bounty card, especially, could have been predicted without needing some ridiculous ability to see the future. Anyone who knew Julian well enough, understood how the examination worked, and thought several steps ahead could have figured out that he might eventually use it on Ruvian.
It would have been difficult, sure.
But difficult was not the same as impossible.
Ruvian was annoyingly calculating to begin with. From everything Julian had seen of him throughout the examination, the bastard had a habit of anticipating what people would do and preparing for it beforehand.
So claiming that as evidence of seeing the future was hardly convincing.
As for the demon taking over his body...
Julian’s eyes narrowed slightly.
That one was admittedly harder to explain.
Then, with a skeptical sneer, Julian asked, "So, what can you prove to me now that you’re this so-called Emissary of Fate? If you can really see the future, then...
