Chapter 385 - Fu Zhi Does Not Deserve It
Chapter 385: Fu Zhi Does Not Deserve It
Truth be told, there was one thing that Ouyang Ya did not understand. She could see that Ouyang Feng clearly liked her design. He had even acknowledged her talent in front of the other elders of the family, so why would he dismiss the idea of taking her in as a disciple all of a sudden?
Ouyang Feng looked at the girl who used to be his best student and said, “Yeah, sure. The offer still stands.”
Just as Ouyang Ya felt delighted, Ouyang Feng added, “I already have a candidate that wants to be my disciple.”
Ouyang Ya was stunned.
“It’s a student from our school. I will introduce her to you when the time comes since she doesn’t have any intention of becoming my disciple yet,” Ouyang Feng said. He knew that Fu Zhi was hard-nosed and he should not force her to do anything that she did not want to do.
Ouyang Ya’s face sank after she heard what Ouyang Feng had said. However, there was nothing she could do other than put a fake smile on her face and say, “Really? Do I know her?”
“I think so. Her name is Fu Zhi.”
Ouyang Ya’s smile froze, and her heart skipped a beat. Ouyang Feng looked at her meaningfully.
“Is that so,” Ouyang Ya said. “With all due respect, I don’t think she’s qualified.”
Ouyang Ya would not have said something like this if it were someone else, but Fu Zhi was different.
After Fu Zhi left, Ouyang Ya thought about it for a long time and finally figured out that the sense of similarity she had gotten from Fu Zhi was because of the way she did things, which was somewhat similar to Ouyang Zhui’s way.
In the Ouyang Family, strength was everything. Ouyang Ya whipped up a confident smile and added, “It was just a stroke of luck that she defeated me last time. If I were given a chance to fight her again, I’m sure the same thing would not happen. If you insist on taking her in as your disciple, the people from the Shadow Corps might not be happy about it.”
Ouyang Feng lifted his eyebrows and said, “Really?”
“Master, how about this… If No.1 High School emerges victorious from the competition this time, you can take Fu Zhi in as your disciple, and I won’t object. Not only that, but I will also help you convince the other elders. However, if No.1 High School loses, you’ll have to accept me as your disciple. What do you think?”
Fu Zhi did not have the blood of the Ouyangs flowing in her, nor had she grown up in the Ouyang Residence.
Ouyang Ya was certain that the elders would not let Ouyang Feng hand the Shadow Corps to an outsider. Besides, due to her talent in firearm design, she had gotten quite a lot of support from these elders. As such, they would take her suggestion into consideration.
Ouyang Feng touched the cup and smiled. “It’s a deal then.”

Fu Zhi still could not make any sense of Ouyang Feng’s design after two days. On the third day, she finally gave up. She threw the notebook aside and contacted Feng Bo through WeChat.
Fu Zhi was not an expert at film distribution, but she was willing to learn.
The movie “Yellow River”, which had been directed by Feng Bo, had been extremely successful that year, and both he and the movie had won a lot of prizes.
As for the two sci-fi movies he had directed afterward, from Fu Zhi’s perspective, both movies were certainly above the standard, so she did not understand why they would fail so hard.
Maybe someone had put a spoke in Feng Bo’s wheel?
After Fu Zhi finished watching all of Feng Bo’s movies, she asked for the script he had written for “Red Sun”.
It took Feng Bo three days to come out with the script. The silver lining was that Pure Feather was one of his favorite writers, and he had read some of her works. Besides, he had gotten his inspiration for the war movie that he was going to direct in the first place from “Red Sun” as well.
Therefore, he only needed to make a few changes to his original script based on “Red Sun”.
It took Fu Zhi roughly half an hour to finish Feng Bo’s script. He added a new teenage character and amplified some details that were only briefly mentioned in the book.
On the whole, Fu Zhi felt that the new character added some depth to the main character. However, there was something she did not understand, so she called Feng Bo. “Overall, it’s a good script, but some of it is not in line with the storyline. I suggest we remove those parts. What do you think?”
Fu Zhi asked Feng Bo as a beginner. She did not force him to delete those parts. She was just suggesting.
The man on the other side of the line stuck the milk bottle into his daughter’s mouth and walked to the balcony. “Yes, I can do that. Actually, the script in your hands is just a draft. The Mu Corporation needs a script as well since they cooperated with Master Pure Feather some time ago…”
Then, he asked carefully, “Can you understand what I’m trying to say?”
It went without saying that Fu Zhi could understand him.
Feng Bo let out a sigh of relief. He was paranoid because he had been deceived far too many times in the past.
The script he had written had been stolen by someone on the second day, and his idea had been taken away by his friend. Feng Bo was no longer the naive man he used to be, and from that day onward, he decided not to trust anyone anymore.
Fu Zhi said, “If you’re free these days, then let’s get the contract done so that we can proceed to the next stage.”
Feng Bo had not expected her to make up her mind so swiftly.
He gripped his phone tightly and said in a raspy voice, “Ms. Fu, let me be honest with you. I’m not very good at writing to the market. Although the script is not the finalized version, the storyline I added doesn’t have an element of romance or bromance. Can… Can you accept this? Maybe the final product will not appeal to the taste of current society…”
“Is that so…” Fu Zhi sighed.
Feng Bo’s heart leaped into a gallop in his chest.
He had met many bosses and investors over the years. Most of them had told him that the world had changed. Their main target groups were youngsters, and sci-fi and war movies were no longer mainstream. Older people did not like going to the cinema, while youngsters favored love stories. Therefore, he was a movie director who did not know how to meet the market’s demands, so none of them could see any future in Feng Bo.
Feng Bo had told everything to Fu Zhi. After all, no matter how much he needed money, he still could not bring himself to deceive a little girl.
“So? There is no rule that says a movie must have a romance element,” Fu Zhi said. She paused for a moment before adding, “I’ve already gone through all your movies. Your ideas are good, but some of them are too far ahead of our time and don’t resonate with some people. All you can do is simplify your ideas or shift the focus of your story, but that doesn’t mean that your movies are not good.”
Feng Bo felt warm.
Other than his wife, nobody had ever praised his movies before. Everyone just thought that he was messing around and he would never be able to surpass the sci-fi blockbusters produced by Country M no matter how hard he tried.
