The Most Powerful Bodyguard
Chapter 1489: Ao Bo Incubates the Egg
Chapter 1489: Chapter 1489: Ao Bo Incubates the Egg
Yang Yan sat on the seat, carefully observing the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg, but discovered that the egg was shaking more violently.
However, it seemed to lack something, clearly just one step away, yet unable to break open for a long time.
Yang Yan glanced at the three people in the hall, then waved his sleeve and brought them to a valley filled with Spiritual Qi.
The pained cries coming from here caught the attention of the surrounding students, and someone couldn’t help but come over to investigate.
Without saying much, Yang Yan directly took out the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg.
Ao Bo’s eyes immediately lit up, and with a whoosh, he ran over to Yang Yan.
Yang Yan twitched at the corner of his mouth, then his eyes turned sharp, and an invisible wall of air pushed Ao Bo to the side.
"Aiya—"
Ao Bo screamed miserably, looking at Yang Yan with a face full of grievance: "Godfather, let me take a look at such a good thing?"
Yang Yan glared at him irritably, then said to the three of them: "This is the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg, rumored to have the Ancient Phoenix bloodline. If it hatches, its power could reach Divinity Transformation."
"But since I obtained it, I’ve tried every method and still haven’t been able to hatch it."
"Never did I expect that today, when you arrived, it would undergo a mutation, as if it’s about to break its shell and emerge."
"I suspect that one of your auras has attracted it, giving it the tendency to break its shell."
"Now I must trouble you to release your auras one by one, so I can see whose aura is attracting it."
Yang Yan looked at the Vermilion Bird, smiling as he said, "You should start! After all, your bloodlines are connected, and the chances are great."
The Vermilion Bird was already stunned the moment she saw the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg.
Though she had not fully matured, she could still feel the terrifying power emanating from the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg.
This was the bloodline of an Ancient Phoenix, likely surpassing her talents by a large margin.
The Vermilion Bird nodded heavily, then released the aura of the King of All Birds.
Huh?
Originally full of anticipation, he was instantly disappointed.
The egg, however, had no reaction whatsoever.
Yang Yan couldn’t help but be surprised.
After all, the Vermilion Bird is a direct bloodline of the Ancient Phoenix; logically, he was the most likely, so why no reaction at all?
Yang Yan pondered for a while but couldn’t figure it out, so he had the Vermilion Bird step back, then called over the White Tiger.
Unfortunately, the White Tiger tried several times, using almost all his strength, but also to no avail.
Yang Yan couldn’t help but twitch at the corner of his mouth, then looked toward Ao Bo with no doubt.
That guy seemed completely oblivious, standing to the side, munching on a pile of Spirit Fruits while watching the others’ misfortune.
Yang Yan’s face darkened, threatening Ao Bo: "Your turn, Ao Bo. If there’s no reaction from the egg, you’re doomed!"
Ao Bo shivered all over, then timidly approached the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg.
Ao Bo was well aware of his own limitations.
If the Vermilion Bird and White Tiger couldn’t succeed, then naturally, he wouldn’t be able to either.
But under Yang Yan’s fierce gaze, Ao Bo dared not slack off.
He quickly swallowed the last Spirit Fruit in his hand, wiped the juice off his mouth, and then trotted over.
"What are you standing there for? Hurry up!" Yang Yan impatiently urged.
Ao Bo quickly nodded and then activated his powers.
Buzz—
As soon as he released a hint of emerald aura, the egg began to vibrate violently...
Was it really this kid?!
Yang Yan was speechless for a moment.
Indeed, people cannot be judged by their appearance, nor the sea measured by a bushel.
The most likely one didn’t work, yet the least likely succeeded so easily.
It seemed that there was indeed a higher power deciding fate; this guy is stupid and yet blessed, perhaps hiding some secret.
Yang Yan adjusted his mindset, immediately urging Ao Bo to continue releasing his aura.
However, the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg simply vibrated more intensely, with no further changes.
Yang Yan frowned slightly, then ordered the already sweating Ao Bo to retract his aura.
As Ao Bo’s aura disappeared, the giant egg gradually stopped trembling.
Though the surface light shimmered, the aura’s fluctuation became even more agitated than before.
Seeing this, Yang Yan fell deep into thought.
Why would a dragon cause the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg to vibrate so intensely, yet the closely related Vermilion Bird had no effect?
Yang Yan couldn’t help but think of a possibility, then twitched at the corner of his mouth, secretly gloating.
If this were true, then Ao Bo, the lazy and cunning fellow, would have a lot to deal with.
Yang Yan stifled his laughter, seriously saying to Ao Bo: "Try heating the egg with your Dragon Breath."
Ao Bo’s eyes lit up, instantly thanking Yang Yan: "Godfather, you’re so good to me, knowing the egg can’t hatch and letting me eat it. Thanks! I won’t be shy then."
As he said this, he glanced provocatively at the Vermilion Bird and the White Tiger, looking smug.
The White Tiger looked wide-eyed at Yang Yan, then glared at Ao Bo.
Ao Bo shrank his neck but then met his gaze, confronting him directly.
At this point, the relatively mature Vermilion Bird seemed to understand, and the corners of her mouth curled into a smile.
As Ao Bo continuously spewed out Dragon Breath, the massive egg, as tall as a person, gradually turned red.
Unfortunately, Ao Bo’s strength was limited, and such a frantic output could not be maintained for more than a quarter of an hour, leaving him pale and trembling.
Fortunately, Yang Yan was prepared and directly fed him a top-grade Spirit Gathering Pill, simultaneously expending some Wish Power to help catalyze it.
The pill entered the body, bursting out suddenly under the stimulation of Wish Power, instantly rejuvenating Ao Bo.
This was thanks to his hardy Dragon Race physique; otherwise, even if Yang Yan wanted to use him as labor, he wouldn’t be willing to burn him in such a consumptive manner.
The burn of the Dragon Breath continued for another half an hour, and finally, the Nine Nether Fire Bird egg gently moved.
Crack!
Then there was a faint cracking sound, and a small crack appeared on it.
Yang Yan’s eyes sharpened, increasing the output of Wish Power in his hand while injecting his Spiritual Power into Ao Bo’s body.
Roar!
Ao Bo’s whole body trembled, letting out a dragon’s roar, his body bursting through his clothes, revealing his true form.
Crack—
In an instant, the tiny crack spread like a spider web.
Moments later, as the first piece of eggshell shattered, it became the center as pieces flaked off.
Screech!
An emerald silhouette suddenly shot out from the egg, circling once above everyone’s head, chattering noisily:
"You damned little dragon, daring to disturb my Nirvana Rebirth. Watch me skin you alive today and swallow you to quell my rage!"
A streak of emerald light flashed, and a petite claw suddenly printed itself on Ao Bo’s face.
