The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 484 - 220: "What Do You Think You’re Doing!

  • Next Chapter

Sean: "?"

"I’ve been wronged!"

A great injustice!

Sean said, "I still don’t even know why I faked my death in the first place."

Daeli retorted, "Then why couldn’t it have been part of a plan to get your hands on Eli?"

Sean grew slightly irritated. "Do you really think I’m that kind of person?"

"If you weren’t, why would I even suspect it?" Daeli shot back.

Sean: "?"

"Fine, fine, fine."

"Since you won’t believe a word I say, you might as well just put me out of my misery," Sean said, exasperated.

With that, he closed his eyes and craned his neck, looking as if he were ready to face death.

This was his fourth trick.

It looked like the noble act of a gentleman, willing to die to clear his name. In reality, he had run out of things to say. Unable to win the argument, he could only resort to this tactic to try and force a comeback.

But Daeli wasn’t falling for it.

After being married to Sean for so many years, she had seen this routine countless times.

The moment she showed any sign of softening, Sean would immediately launch into his act. He’d put the knife in her hand himself and say, "It’s all my fault. I won’t blame you. Go on, do it. Just remember that I love you." Then he’d close his eyes, squeeze out a tear or two to make her heart soften even more, and the whole affair would be forgotten.

The world knew that Carl Black’s Magic Power was beyond Tier Ten, a strength too immense to imagine. What they didn’t know was that this man’s acting skills were also beyond Tier Ten. One moment of carelessness and you’d fall right into his trap.

So this time, Daeli chose to grant Sean’s wish.

She picked up the fruit knife from the coffee table and placed it directly against Sean’s neck.

Sean: "?!?!"

His composure shattered in an instant. He scrambled to the far corner of the sofa.

"Are you serious??"

Daeli pursed her lips. "Weren’t you the one who asked me to put you out of your misery?"

Sean clutched his chest in anguish. "My love, you’ve changed. You don’t love me anymore..."

"That’s right, I’ve changed. You haven’t," Daeli said. "You’re still the same bastard you always were."

Sean: "..."

’Am I really a bastard?’

’...Okay, maybe a little.’

Sean’s mind drifted to the past. As the eldest daughter of the Blazing Angel Family, Daeli was of noble and respected status. She could have had any man she wanted. Yet, she had chosen to stay by his side, content to share him with another woman. Daeli had endured endless criticism during that time, but she never paid it any mind. She even got along quite harmoniously with Olivia—they only fought once or twice a week.

Sean sighed softly and said, "I’m sorry."

"If ’sorry’ fixed everything, what would be the point of Magic Power?" With a flick of her wrist, Daeli sent the fruit knife flying like an arrow. It landed, straight and true, embedding itself in the sofa right between Sean’s legs.

Sean flinched, a cold sweat breaking out on his brow. "Miss Daeli!" he yelped. "Let’s talk this over! No need for violence!"

"I’m serious! I’m sorry!"

"Is that so?" Daeli asked. "What are you apologizing for?"

"Are you sorry for leaving without a word and making me live like a widow for lifetimes? Or are you sorry for your insatiable greed? For deciding I wasn’t enough, so you had to have my sister, too? For wanting both of us sisters to serve you at the same time, sharing your bed?"

Sean: "B-Both! All of it!"

Daeli’s gaze turned cold. "So you really do want me and Eli to serve you together?"

Sean: "?"

’Oh no, she tricked me.’

"Absolutely not!"

Sean declared, his voice firm as iron, "I swear in the name of the Master, I have never, ever had such a thought."

Daeli sneered, "Since when did you believe in the Master?"

Sean: "Just now."

The knife was gone, so Daeli picked up a fork. "Still trying to be clever?"

Sean immediately covered his face. "I really never thought that!"

"Fine," Daeli said. "Then break up with Eli."

"Should I tell her for you, or will you do it yourself?"

Sean: "..."

’Is there even a difference?’

An image of his date with Elvire flashed through Sean’s mind.

He was holding Elvire’s hand. Elvire was clearly blushing, but she insisted on pretending to be disgusted.

But she couldn’t even commit to the act.

Whenever another woman tried to flirt with him, or if he got too close to any other girls, Elvire would jump in possessively and separate them.

His dear sister-in-law was so proud and contrary.

Sean was just as proud and contrary, and he knew it.

People with similar personalities tend to attract one another.

Sean didn’t want to break up with Elvire.

So this time, he didn’t back down.

"I won’t."

Sean dropped the act. "I like Eli. Why would I break up with her?"

Daeli stared at him intently. "And what if I insist that you two separate?"

"No, you won’t," Sean said.

Magic Power began to surge around Daeli—a clear sign of her anger.

The fork in her hand shattered, turning into a ball of flame condensed from Magic Power.

"Do you really think that just because I love you, you can do whatever you want, and I’ll tolerate your insatiable greed?"

"That’s why I said I’m sorry," Sean said earnestly. "I’ve wronged you."

Daeli said, "And I already told you, ’sorry’ is useless."

"Either you break up with Eli, or..."

"I’ll kill you."

"The choice is yours."

Without a second of hesitation, Sean replied, "Then kill me."

’This bastard...’

Daeli clenched her fist, the flame condensing into the point of a blade. "Sean, don’t think for a second I won’t be able to go through with it."

"Funny," Sean said. "Because I’m betting you won’t."

Daeli: "?"

Before she knew it, Sean had regained control of the conversation. He even stood up, walked closer to Daeli, and said, "To be honest, I’ve been incredibly conflicted lately."

"When I learned from Eli that you had been successfully reborn, that you were alive and had become the Clan Leader of the Blazing Angel Family, I wanted to come find you. I wanted to tell you that I’m alive too, that I’ve missed you so much that I even dream about you."

"But I was also afraid."

"I was afraid you’d be angry if you knew I’m with Eli now."

"So I was hiding. Coming to Austin Castle this time took a great deal of determination."
