The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 435 - 205: "Two
"Go die? What’s this about?"
Sean had just stepped out of the bathroom when he heard those words. He asked the two women while drying his hair with a towel.
The tense atmosphere in the room eased somewhat at his appearance.
Anna glanced at him and answered, "We were just discussing how all unfaithful men should die."
Sean: "?"
"Are you talking about me?"
"I wasn’t talking about you," Anna mocked. "Or does Mr. Sean know he’s a scumbag and is taking it personally?"
’He kind of was...’ But of course, Sean wouldn’t admit it. Feigning anger, he said, "The look in your eyes says you were talking about me, weren’t you?"
Anna said coolly, "If you insist on thinking that, there’s nothing I can do about it."
Sean: "?"
’What kind of toxic comeback is that?’
’And she has the nerve to call *me* the scumbag?’
Sean huffed, not bothering to argue with Anna. "I’m done with my shower. You two can go ahead."
Anna glanced at Elise, as if asking who should go first.
Elise didn’t answer.
So Anna went into the bathroom herself.
The sound of running water soon came from the bathroom.
Sean, already lying on the bed, asked Elise, "What were you two talking about just now?"
"Nothing." ’There was no way Elise was going to tell Sean that she had been completely outmatched in her first confrontation with Anna and had nearly lost her composure. Did she have no pride?’
So she just said, "That woman has had her eyes on you for a while."
Sean: "Huh?"
Elise said, a hint of jealousy in her voice, "She saw you the last time you came to the New World. She’s been after you ever since."
’It wasn’t always a good thing when the man you liked was too handsome. He was so popular everywhere he went; a love rival was bound to pop up every now and then.’
"Well, that can’t be helped." Sean spread his hands innocently. "It’s not my fault I have so much Charm."
Elise rolled her eyes. "You’re so narcissistic."
Sean: "Hah. Then don’t get in the bed."
"As if I’d want to," Elise huffed.
But despite what she said, her body was quite honest. She slipped off her shoes, squeezed under the covers, and lay down beside Sean.
"Hey, hey, hey, you haven’t even taken off your clothes," Sean said, trying to scoot away.
Elise grabbed his arm, her eyes bewitching. "Why don’t you help me take them off?"
Sean wasn’t about to help her. He continued to point out, "And you haven’t showered."
’They had been in the car all day; she was dusty from the road. It wasn’t clean to get into bed without showering.’
Elise: "It’s fine. I’ll shower after we’re done."
Sean: "?"
’Who wants to ’get done’ with you?’
’Women only slow down my Cultivation speed.’
"Don’t touch me, I need to begin my Meditation." Sean found an excuse, closed his eyes, and ignored Elise.
’The main reason was that there was a stranger present. Besides, this woman was an expert at flirting. If he couldn’t control himself, was Anna going to get a live show?’
’They barely knew Anna, and Sean certainly didn’t have that kind of weird kink.’
In truth, Elise was just teasing. She simply wanted to flirt with Sean a little.
She didn’t know when it started, or why, but if a day went by without her teasing him, she would feel an irresistible urge to do so.
Seeing Sean close his eyes and pretend to begin his Meditation, Elise smiled. She didn’t push her luck, instead taking a magazine from the drawer and leaning against Sean’s shoulder to read.
About half an hour later, Anna emerged from the bathroom, and Elise went in to take her shower.
In the end, Sean was the one who really lucked out, getting to sleep in the middle.
Anna was on his left, and Elise was on his right.
He took a sniff; the air was filled with the fragrant scents of the two women.
’It was just a pity he couldn’t hug either of them.’
All three of them had their eyes closed.
They all looked like they were sound asleep, but no one knew who was actually sleeping and who was pretending.
The night passed uneventfully.
「The next day.」
Sean was the first to get up. After quickly washing up, he said, "Let’s go. We’ll get some breakfast, then head to the church."
Believers usually choose to go to church to pray in the morning.
It was an unwritten rule.
Going to church in the morning was for prayer, the afternoon was for confession, and after dusk was usually for atonement.
The "Master" is tolerant and rarely punishes the people of the world directly, so most churches have small, dark rooms where those who feel their sins are heavy can go to reflect on their own accord.
Since it was the weekend, more people would be going to church to confess in the afternoon. And while fewer people went for atonement at night, doing so would easily attract attention—a fact many police officers liked to exploit. This was because usually only those who had committed grave errors needed to atone. For a minor transgression like stealing a neighbor’s underwear, a simple confession and a cup of Holy Water would suffice; there was no need for the small, dark room.
By taking advantage of this, the police department’s performance improved year after year.
At least, that was the case for the Holkaydo police department.
To avoid being targeted and getting into unnecessary trouble, it was better to go early in the morning.
As everyone knows, waking up early requires willpower, especially when the weather is cold in late winter and early spring. Compared to a warm bed, the cold air outside feels like torture. Therefore, the earlier one went, the more pious one appeared.
"Wait for me to put on my makeup."
Anna said.
Sean, wanting to save time, said, "You don’t need to. You look great even without makeup."
This was the truth. In addition to being beautiful, Anna also had good skin and a naturally aristocratic air. Even without makeup, there were few who could rival her.
Anna looked up. "Are you hitting on me?"
Sean’s compliment pleased her, but for him to praise her without knowing her true identity was tantamount to him hitting on another girl. Another sin to add to his list.
"So you don’t like compliments, is that it?"
Sean said irritably, "Fine, I’ll put it another way."
Anna: "Hm?"
Sean said with a look of disgust, "You women are so much trouble."
"We’re going to scout the place, not on a date. What’s the point of putting on makeup?"
Anna: "..."
’That tone...’ She suddenly remembered that a long time ago, when Sean was still Carl Black, he had said something similar. So she gave the same explanation as she had back then: "Makeup isn’t for looks. It’s a matter of courtesy."
