With that, she let out a sigh as if she’d made up her mind. "Forget it."

"We’re all friends here. Since Mr. Writer wants a hug, I suppose I can reluctantly let you hold me for a night."

"Don’t worry, I won’t tell Miss Flame Crow."

Sean: "?"

’Wow. Just wow. In a few simple sentences, she’d twisted this from her trying to get a piece of him into him trying to get a piece of her.’

Sean sneered, "Is your mouth always this talented, Miss Elise?"

Elise stuck out her tongue and licked her lips, her voice seductive. "Why don’t you find out for yourself, Mr. Writer?"

Since Elise was sitting on his lap, she was so close that Sean could feel the warm puff of her breath as she licked her lips. He was genuinely afraid she would kiss him right then and there. He turned his head away and refused, "I’ll pass."

Elise leaned in close to his ear and whispered, "I’ll tell you a little secret, Mr. Writer. It would be my first kiss~"

Sean: "?"

"Really?"

"Pah!"

"Even if it’s your first kiss, I’ll pass."

Sean snorted. "What’s it to me whether it’s your first kiss or not?"

Elise giggled. She loved seeing Sean put on this brave front, pretending he wasn’t interested.

’People are possessive, especially men of status. The word "first" could pique their interest to the highest degree. It had little to do with feelings; it was purely about the desire to possess something beautiful for themselves. And women were just as possessive, if not more conquest-driven. Elise actually wanted to turn this act into reality, to satisfy Sean and herself. But unfortunately, not here...’

’Otherwise, if Elvire found out, the girl would really chase her down with a blade.’

’So she could only tease Sean a bit and get her verbal kicks. One had to know when to stop.’

Seeing that Elise didn’t escalate things, Sean understood that she was also just pretending to be nonchalant. She acted like she was going to eat him alive tonight, but in reality, she was still afraid of Elvire finding out.

And if Elise was afraid, then he wasn’t.

’When your enemy has the same weakness as you, it all comes down to who’s more ruthless.’

So Sean immediately straightened his back, his voice growing louder. "I hear you want to Dual Cultivate with me?"

Elise: "Ah~"

Sean: "?"

"We haven’t even started. What are you moaning about?"

Elise’s face flushed red as she glared at Sean. "You’re poking me."

"Oh, so I’m poking you, am I?" Sean’s eyes were defiant. "Sorry. I did it on purpose."

Elise: "?"

This time, it was her turn to warn Sean. "Man, you’re playing with fire!"

’Her threat was all bark and no bite.’

Sean threw her words back at her. "Then why don’t you burn me?"

Elise: "..."

Sean: "I haven’t even asked you yet. Is it comfortable sitting on my lap?"

He didn’t just counterattack with his words; his hands weren’t idle either. He took the opportunity to grasp Elise’s slender waist.

Through the thin fabric, she felt like panna cotta wrapped in a layer of plastic wrap—soft and smooth.

Elise felt the intense heat from the large hands on her waist, causing her own body to heat up. Realizing the situation was getting dangerous, Elise squirmed, trying to get off Sean’s lap. But the hands on her waist suddenly tightened, pinning her firmly in place. Her struggles not only failed to improve her predicament but almost made her succumb completely.

’Damn it, how is he so big...’

’Before, when Eleanor said he was big, it was just a wild guess.’

’Now, Elise knew. Eleanor had guessed right.’

"What do you think this is, a supermarket? You think you can just come and go as you please?"

Sean toyed with Elise’s soft waist, his tone teasing. "Didn’t you want to discuss positions with me? Come on, then."

Elise’s beautiful face turned beet red. She said, slightly ashamed and annoyed, "Sean, don’t you regret this!"

Sean kept pressing. "Regret what?"

"Regret not taking you and making you my woman?"

Elise bit her lip. "You wouldn’t dare."

Sean raised an eyebrow. "Try me?"

Elise was about to say "Try me, then," but she suddenly felt the large hands on her waist begin to wander upwards, about to cross the mountains and valleys. She panicked and quickly said, "I won’t! I won’t! I really just came to find you for Meditation!"

Sean: "Oh? So you know how to talk nicely now?"

Elise felt wronged. "I was talking nicely the whole time."

’She just wanted to add a bit of life and flavor to her conversations with Sean. What was wrong with that?’

"Fine." Sean had no intention of letting this enchantress off the hook so easily. Although he stopped his movements, his hands didn’t leave Elise’s waist. He said, "The Fallen Nether Technique requires physical contact anyway. Why don’t we just do it like this?"

Elise: "???"

’Wait, how was she supposed to concentrate on her Meditation in this position?’

"At least let’s change spots!"

Elise said, her face red, "This is the living room."

Sean: "The living room is what makes it exciting. You said so yourself."

Elise: "..."

She discovered something.

It wasn’t just women who held grudges. Men did, too.

All the teasing things she’d said to Sean earlier had turned into boomerangs, flying back to hit her in the face and making her blush furiously.

"Let’s go to the bedroom. Please," Elise begged pitifully in a small voice.

’Otherwise, if Elvire came looking for Sean tomorrow, she would open the door to find the two of them cuddling on the sofa, and they’d all be screwed.’

"No. We’re staying here."

Sean huffed lightly. "Keep complaining, and believe it or not, I’ll pin you against the floor-to-ceiling window."

Elise: "..."

She immediately shut her mouth.

’Elise finally understood. This guy knew for a fact that she was afraid of Elvire finding out.’

’And unfortunately for her, she really couldn’t risk it...’

’Right now, she was only Tier Four and didn’t know any Secret Techniques. No matter how fast she ran, she wouldn’t be faster than Elvire’s blade. When the time came, she feared she wouldn’t even have a chance to argue before the girl cut her in two.’

’So, once Sean caught on, she was completely at his mercy.’

’In a way, this was indeed a case of playing with fire and getting burned.’

’But it didn’t matter.’

’Physically, she couldn’t do anything to Sean, couldn’t really ’eat’ him. But in the spiritual realm? That was another story.’

’She would remember tonight’s "humiliation." Once they were in the "New World," she would make this guy pay it back double!’

"You still remember the Meditation method, right?" Sean asked.

Elise had been there when they went to the fourth floor of the library to read the "Fallen Nether Technique." High-tier Wizards didn’t have poor memories.

"I remember," Elise said.

Sean wrapped his arm around Elise’s waist without any hesitation. "Then let’s begin."

As he spoke, he deliberately bounced his leg, nearly making Elise lose her balance and fall off his lap. She instinctively threw her arms around Sean’s neck. Seeing the playful look in the man’s eyes, her face couldn’t help but burn again. She cursed him silently—’You damn man, just you wait!’—then decisively closed her eyes and began to circulate the Fallen Nether Technique.

To Sean’s surprise, although the woman had complained about the position, she actually entered the state very quickly.

’It seemed her self-control was exceptionally strong.’

’This was also why Elvire had always trusted Elise so much.’

’If she could remain unmoved even in the face of a handsome man like Sean, starting her Meditation the moment she said she would, then handling other serious matters would be no problem at all.’

And it was true. In all these years, Elise had never failed in any task Elvire had given her.

Seeing Elise’s seriousness, Sean also put away his teasing thoughts. He gently lifted her from his lap and placed her on the sofa beside him, holding just one of her fingers before he too entered the state.

Because this was Elise’s first time condensing a Soul Reflection, making her a "new character," and since Sean had previously been pushed off a cliff and "fallen to his death," making him a new character as well, their "spawn point" was once again randomly set in the Kovri Ruins.

As soon as he opened his eyes, Sean saw the familiar street.

The difference was that the weather this time wasn’t so great; it was overcast.

A steady drizzle was falling.

What was even less great was their situation.

On the wide, cluttered street, a large umbrella was set up, and a group of soldiers was eating lunch beneath it.

Living conditions in the Kovri Ruins were obviously not the best. Their meal consisted of the simplest noodles.

A campfire made of firewood was built on the ground. Over the fire was a crucible, normally used for Alchemy, but now being used to cook noodles. The boiling water was BUBBLING away, steaming, adding a bit of warmth for the soldiers in the cold, rainy weather. They chatted while slurping down their noodles, creating a surprisingly lively atmosphere.

Until the air under the umbrella suddenly distorted, and a man and a woman appeared out of thin air without any warning—right in the "pot."

Sean held Elise’s hand with one of his, lest the enchantress get lost, and with his other foot, he stomped the crucible into the fire. It was as if he were treading on a cloud of flames, incomparably majestic.

The soldier opposite him froze completely, a forkful of noodles stuck in his mouth, not moving for a long moment.

After a good while, he jolted as if waking from a dream. His face went pale with fright. He slammed his noodle bowl onto his companion’s head and roared, "Trouble! We’re under attack!!"
