The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 403 - 190: Good News and Bad News
"Honey, let me explain!"
"Then stop right there."
"Put the knife down first!"
"Sorry, it’s stuck to my hand. I can’t let go."
"???"
The sounds of a chase echoed through the early morning sky over Kovloki Castle.
Elise lazily pushed open her window and leaned on the sill, sighing softly as she soaked in the morning sun. "Flirting so early in the morning... Those two, honestly..."
"Sister Elise, what’s going on?" Yisha asked, walking over with a cup of yogurt and licking her lips.
Clearly, she wasn’t bothered by the recent explosion.
After all, with Eleanor around, it was definitely not an accident.
"Look." Elise pointed to the sky. "Your Master was caught fooling around, and Miss Flame Crow found out."
Yisha: "Huh?"
"Master was fooling around??"
"No way, right?"
Yisha wasn’t convinced. "Is Master really that kind of person?"
Elise tilted her head. "Isn’t he?"
Yisha fell silent for a moment. She suddenly recalled the incident at the hospital—that guy was actually pretty good at charming girls. Her face flushing slightly, she nodded. "I guess he is."
Now it was Elise’s turn to be silent. She gave the girl a strange look. "You seem to speak from experience?"
"Of course not." Yisha scooped some yogurt into her mouth and mumbled, "I just know Master well, that’s all."
"Oh, is that so."
Elise smiled, not calling her out on it. She closed the window and said, "Come on, let’s go get something to eat."
Yisha gazed up at the two tangled figures in the sky. "Aren’t we going to wait for them?" she asked.
"We could be waiting a while," Elise said, unwilling to starve because of that bickering pair. "Once they’re done fighting, they’ll come back on their own."
Yisha thought about it and agreed. "Then I’ll go get Koni."
"Oh, right, Sister Elise."
"I haven’t asked who Master was fooling around with."
"Who else could it be?"
Elise said, "Who are the girls close to your Master? It’s just the few of us, right?"
Yisha gasped. "Don’t tell me he was fooling around with you?"
Elise: "?"
"He’d have to get the chance, wouldn’t he?"
She spent every day with Elvire; there was no opportunity for anything ’secret.’ At best, it would be cheating right under the wife’s nose.
Elise said, annoyed, "It was your Master’s personal Maid, Eleanor."
"Oh, so it was Sister Eleanor..." Yisha said, looking as if it all made sense now. "Well, in that case, it’s understandable."
"How is it understandable?" Elise asked.
Yisha answered, "Because Sister Eleanor is gorgeous, and she’s a Grand Mage. To everyone else, she’s high and mighty, but in front of Master, she’s obedient and docile. It’s the contrast—that’s super attractive to men, you know?"
"If I had a Maid like Sister Eleanor, I wouldn’t be able to resist pushing her down, either."
Chatting, the two walked to a corner in the hallway. Just as they turned, they came face to face with Eleanor, who was stepping out of her room.
Yisha: "..."
Elise: "..."
Eleanor: "..."
’Does Master really think that?’
The three of them stared at each other, speechless.
Yisha, not expecting to run into the very person they were talking about, turned red with embarrassment. She scratched her head and forced a laugh. "Ahem, Sister Eleanor, good morning! We were just... complimenting you."
Eleanor: "..."
"Good morning, Miss Yisha."
"Great compliment. Don’t praise me again."
Yisha: "..."
’SOB, she really heard me.’
The two women had their own way of addressing each other: one used "Sister," the other a formal "Miss."
Elise wasn’t as timid as Yisha. Seeing that Eleanor seemed to be in good spirits, she said with a sly smile, "Miss Eleanor, perfect timing. I was just getting curious about something and wanted to ask you."
Eleanor: "Hm?"
Elise leaned in to the girl’s ear and whispered with a laugh, "So, didn’t you and Mr. Writer have a fierce battle all night? How was it?"
Eleanor: "???"
Yisha also seemed very interested in this topic, craning her head over and perking up her ears to eavesdrop.
Eleanor’s expression stiffened slightly. ’Who asks a question like that!’
’Forget the fact that she and Sean hadn’t done anything—even if they had, how could she possibly answer such a mortifying question?’
’But since this was an act, she had to commit to it.’
Eleanor could only blush and answer ambiguously, "It was... it was okay, I guess..."
"What do you mean, ’it was okay’?" Elise feigned dissatisfaction. "You’re just fobbing us off."
"I’m not..." Eleanor was at a loss. She’d never experienced anything like this, so she had no idea what she was supposed to feel.
"I guess it’s hard to describe, huh? Alright, I’ll ask a different question," Elise said thoughtfully.
Eleanor, thinking she had escaped disaster, nodded hastily. "Okay."
’She should be able to answer anything but that.’
Only to hear Elise ask, "Was he big?"
Eleanor: "?"
"What was big?"
"Playing dumb, are we?"
Elise said, her eyes turning sultry, "Mr. Writer, of course. Was he big?"
Eleanor: "???"
The base of the girl’s ears turned a visible shade of red.
’Seriously... what kind of question was that!’
’How was she supposed to know if Sean was big or not?’
"I-It should be... b-big, right?" Eleanor stammered, unable to look Elise in the eye. She lowered her head, a pink blush spreading across her pale neck.
"Don’t worry, it’s fine." Elise wrapped an arm around the girl’s shoulder like a big sister. "This is just some girl talk between us," she said with a wink. "No one else will find out."
Yisha chimed in, "Yeah, yeah!"
Eleanor said bashfully, "I already said it was big..."
Elise: "How big?"
Eleanor: "..."
’It’s no use, this is never going to end...’
Eleanor knew that Elise wouldn’t let her go until she gave a concrete answer. So, squeezing her eyes shut, her face beet red, she blurted out, "It’s huge! As big as my arm!"
Yisha gasped. "Then, Sister Eleanor, wouldn’t you be... broken?"
’I really am about to break...’ Eleanor wished she could find a hole to crawl into and disappear.
