Chapter 345 - 167: It’s My Honor

The two sisters were asking each other, but they were also asking themselves.

Then, they both fell silent.

It felt like no matter what they did, it wasn’t quite right.

Telling their Master would be defying the Saintess.

But not telling him would be disloyal to their Master.

No matter what, they had to "betray" one of them. ’It’s so difficult...’

"How about this," Elise suggested. "If Master asks us, we’ll tell the truth. If Master doesn’t ask, we won’t say anything. This way, no matter who blames us later, we’ll have a reasonable explanation."

"...Fine." Eleanor didn’t really like the idea; it would make her and Elise seem slick and evasive. But there didn’t seem to be any other choice. ’I just hope Master doesn’t ask...’

And Sean, indeed, did not ask.

The thought hadn’t even crossed his mind.

In the church.

Sean was slightly surprised to see the two women waking up. "So soon?"

"Were the enemies that weak, or were you two just that overwhelming?"

Sean got up and poured the two sisters a glass of water.

"Thank you, Master~" Elise said sweetly. After taking a sip of the warm water and wiping her mouth, she answered, "It’s neither."

"Then what was it?" Sean asked, confused. "Don’t tell me you couldn’t find the Saintess."

"Of course not. This was a mission from you, Master," Elise said. "Not only did we find Her Highness the Saintess, we also met the Governor there."

"Master, you’ll never guess. Pulente is actually on our side."

Sean: "Huh?"

’On our side?’

Eleanor nodded. "He’s been working for Her Highness the Saintess from the very beginning."

"It’s thanks to the support of Her Highness the Saintess that he went from being a merchant to the Governor of Siracle State so quickly."

The two sisters recounted the entire story to Sean.

They didn’t even leave out the detail of Pulente kneeling on the floor, too ashamed to look at them.

Sean was both exasperated and amused as he listened.

’No wonder Pulente knows the Truth Technique...’

’You work for the Saintess, you should have just said so!’

’If I’d known, why would I have gone through all the trouble with threats and assassination plots? I could have just revealed who I was and been done with it.’

"So, Pulente treating the public like fools at the press conference—was that also Diana’s idea?"

"We don’t know about that," Eleanor said. "We didn’t talk about it much with Her Highness the Saintess."

Her Highness the Saintess probably wouldn’t have been interested in discussing it anyway; she only cared about matters related to Sean.

"It’s fine. I think I have an idea of what’s going on," Sean said.

The Church Court had always placed great importance on the faith of the people; it was the very thing that held the Empire together.

Faith is a formidable Power, capable of making people press forward fearlessly.

But it has its drawbacks as well.

Just as water can float a boat, it can also sink it.

If that faith could be shaken, the Church Court could be spiritually dismantled, leaving its people divided and scattered.

Clearly, Diana had her own plan.

She hadn’t told him when they last met, perhaps because there wasn’t enough time.

Or perhaps because the time wasn’t right.

Sean didn’t dwell on the issue any longer.

He wasn’t the type of person with such a strong desire for control that he had to understand every little detail. As long as he knew it was what Diana wanted, nothing else mattered.

"Master, what should we do next?" Eleanor asked.

Sean thought for a moment before replying, "I don’t think we need to do anything at all."

’We’re all on the same side, so why make things so complicated?’

The only thing he wanted to do now was pay another visit to the dear Governor, but this time, in a new capacity.

’The Governor’s expression is sure to be priceless.’

"Is he back yet?" Sean asked.

Elise said, "He shouldn’t be back so soon."

"Pulente had to physically travel from the Farm World to the New World. We also had to travel after entering the New World via the Fallen Nether Technique, since our ’spawn point’ isn’t in Elderidge—it’s actually quite far away. That’s why we arrived at Hesinra Palace around the same time as him."

"But when it comes to returning from the New World to the Farm World, we’re much faster than he is."

"After all, we didn’t stay in the New World for long. For us, logging out is just a thought away."

"Then we’ll go find him tomorrow," Sean said.

’The flow of time is the same in both worlds. It took Pulente a day to get to Diana, so it should take him a day to get back. If he arrives early enough, maybe we can even have a meal together.’

"Come on, let’s go home."

"Yes, Master."

The sisters got out of bed and put on their shoes.

Elise took the opportunity to glance around. Not seeing Elvire, she asked cautiously, "Where’s the Lady of the House?"

"You would’ve seen her if you’d come back half a day later," Sean said.

He and Elvire had planned to take turns watching over the Eleanor Sisters, one day each. Who knew it would all be over in just one day? Thinking about it, he felt a little short-changed.

"You must have worked hard, Master," Elise said dutifully.

Sean waved his hand. "Well, you’re my people, aren’t you?"

Elise’s cheeks flushed slightly as she followed up on his words. "In that case, Master... why don’t you make us *truly* yours?"

Sean: "...?"

"What did you say?"

"Nothing."

Elise finished putting on her shoes and stood up with a beaming smile. "Master, let’s go home."

Eleanor shot her a subtle glare.

’Shameless girl, she’ll really say anything.’

’If Master actually agreed, I’d like to see what you’d do then!’

「Back at home.」

Sean habitually took off his jacket and hung it on the coat rack.

Seeing this, Elise’s eyes lit up. "Master, are you going to take a bath?"

"Let me help!"

And with that, she moved to help Sean undress.

Sean: "??"

SLAP.

He slapped her mischievous little hand away.

"Hold on a second."

"You seem a little too excited today."

Sean looked the girl up and down suspiciously. "Did Diana say something to you?"
