207. Black Bullet : Aftermath and Kisara Request to Follow Kaito to Other World.

After being completely done with Est's soul fragment business, chat group members who should not be in Black Bullet return to their respective worlds to settle matters regarding the portal, which is a part of the requirement to increase the chat group level. 

All chat group members have agreed to connect the 3 worlds with the base world, with the note that Black Bullet is not attached publicly for now (the position of the portal is kept secret with space props). As the other two worlds are connected in public after the chat group members have succeeded in conquering the world.

Well, in Aika's opinion, the progress of the chat group has been very good so far. In HOTD, Yuu's existence was enough to force every force in that modern world to submit... with law basically non-existent thanks to the zombie apocalypse wrecking their world.

In Akame Ga Kill, it's only a matter of time before the Empire decides to attack 'Paradise City', giving chat group members a more grounded reason to fight back and conquer the Empire in one swoop.

However, most of the chat group members right now don't care about that. Instead, they were feeling frustrated and sad for themselves.

After learning what Kaito did to Tendo Kikunojo, at first, most members were freaked out and afraid of such a cruel method. However, both Aika, Sakuya, and even Manaka explained and convinced everyone else that it's a result of Kaito getting stressed out and exposed to so much darkness in Black Bullet (as someone who saves cursed children the most), making everyone now feel bad for Kaito.

No one could deny that Black Bullet was certainly the worst world they had visited so far, because some of the members who also happened to do so personally rescued some children. Hence, they also personally experienced how ugly the society in that world was.

Yet, Aika then told them that Kaito had encountered thousands of such cases personally (using a clone). 

Realizing how terrible their leader's mental state was, Most of the members were surprised that Kaito hadn't become a madman yet after witnessing thousands of times of hopelessness, and truly admired Kaito's mental fortitude.

Naturally, after realizing their mistake, everyone in the chat group quickly apologized to him, unanimously agreed to let their leader have a break, and left the rest of the task to them to finish.

Everyone also conveyed how grateful they are for what he has done so far, even the arrogant Misaka admits how hardworking Kaito is compared to others. Learning all of this, Kaito feels it is great that his family shows how much they care for him, but on the other hand, Kaito also feels bad for them.

That is because Kaito genuinely thinks it was natural for him to work the hardest on every task as the leader of the chat group. Not to mention, this Est soul fragment task happened because of his mistake in the Fate world.

"What's wrong, Kaito? Are you feeling tired?"

Hearing a familiar voice, Kaito, who is currently sitting on the rooftop of Aika's office in the Black Bullet base, finds Kisara walking toward him. Unlike the current healthy Kaito, Kisara's current appearance is covered with a bandage on her leg and arm, and a strong smell of antiseptic. 

"Kisara... Why are you here?"

"Sitting alone on the rooftop... You look so lonely, the leader Kaito."

"Heh."

Kaito wasn't surprised Kisara would know his identity by now, and just replied, "...I am just watching the kids playing below us." 

Seeing easily thousands of children currently playing around with a genuine smile on their faces everywhere in this mini city base, Kaito couldn't help but be happy with his hard work. 

Now, it's only a matter of time before each cursed children in moves away to the base world and gets cured one by one, becomes their first permanent resident. In the end, although he suffered so many bad experiences in this world, Kaito feels everything is worth it and looks forward to the future of the base world.

"Pffft... Is that so? It seems the rumor you might be a lolicon was correct." Kisara commented after hearing his answer, "Is it true?"

"These guys are spreading slander..."

Kaito shook his head, didn't want to show any emotion, and then asked back with concern, "Are you able to move now? I think you shouldn't move a lot after just recovering."

"It still hurts, but at least I am still alive." Kisara gives him a wry smile and then decides to sit beside him, "Well... I am here to say sorry and thanks for saving our lives."

"No problem."

Kaito just nodded and didn't refute it. If anything, they should be thankful to the world consciousness of this world. Who makes them the son of the world (protagonist) and has such thick plot armor to survive such a catastrophic event? No one would normally survive from drop off helicopter from a hundred meters in the sky, yet somehow they manage to survive.

"Speaking of which, Kisara." Kaito looked at her seriously and then bowed his head slightly, "I also want to apologize to you."

"Apologize?"

"Yeah... I think you have learn about what happened to your grandfather." 

Kaito sighed, turned away, and complained, "I forgot he was your revenge target... and honestly, I truly regret doing such an action."

After calming himself and thinking for a long time, Kaito realized how fucked up that Zeno Paradox ability was... especially when he also got part of the memory of Tendo Kikunojo in his last moment before he literally broke down. Kaito truly didn't expect his new ability could do such a thing, but after asking the system what happened, he understood such an experience was inevitable every time he used that ability. 

To manipulate someone's soul perception of time, unlike changing form, Kaito needs to touch the deepest part of the soul, which is consciousness that contains memories of someone's life-- and he naturally got the 'experience' from that.

From this, Kaito now learned that he should be able to use soul manipulation to read someone's memory in the future, but Kaito himself is now really averse to using the Zeno Paradox method once again. It might be a very effective ability to take someone down, but Kaito himself also doubts whether he has enough good mental strength to experience part of the victim's memories over and over again.

Even the system suggests to him not to do that often, as it would eventually cause permanent soul damage to himself.

Meanwhile, Kisara, who heard Kaito apologize, just chuckled, "My revenge... it doesn't matter anymore." Tendo Kisara just shook her head slightly and looked at the sky. "The old man now changes for the better, and besides, your torture of that man was so cruel, I think he experienced something way worse than death."

"He certainly does. It was so bad that I felt sorry for him." Kaito nodded in confirmation, "Even after he wanted to kill all my family."

"Well, at least now we don't worry that shitty grandpa dares to do something bad again in the future." Kisara smiled at him and then grabbed Kaito's hand, which made him confused.

After all, Kaito was sure Kisara should be in love with Rentaro, not him, who literally indirectly almost killed her!

"K-Kisara-san?!"

He also never planned to be a minotaur. Although he dislikes Rentaro as a protagonist, Rentaro himself proved that he could change for the better in the future, especially when there's no reason for him to fight anymore in the future, as the chat group member planned to clean all the Gastrea.

"Kaito, can we follow you to another world?"

Didn't expect such a request from Kisara to come out of nowhere, Kaito nervously asked, "Uh... But this world... would it become better when we eradicate all Gastrea?"

"Not really."

Kisara then explained to Kaito that they, as civil security servant, only have combat skills, and nothing else they could live on. Both of their academic ability are mediocre, and they wouldn't cut it in a normal society.

If Kaito and his friend truly fulfill their promise to eradicate all Gastrea creatures and take all cursed children away from this world, there's no doubt that society will recover and back to normal. In such a normal society, those who have already adapted to live in a cruel world definitely feel strange couldn't adapt. Kisara even bet that most of the promoters would think the same the moment they knew about the other world.

Hence, Kisara and Rentaro would rather follow Kaito and his friend to another world, and besides, in that way, Enju wouldn't be separated from the other cursed children.

On top of that, Manaka is also offering an important position for Kisara as one of her assistants. As someone who is slowly taking some of Aika's authority in the chat group, she's also really busy and needs someone to take care of her daily needs. 

Hearing her reasoning, Kaito admits her reason does make sense and then offers, "I understand. But I have a condition."

"You know one of the four sage doctors, Sumire Miroto. Bring her with you to our world."

Hearing the unexpected condition, Kisara became quiet and asked, "Rentaro knows her better... but why do you need her too?"

"Her skill is needed. It would be wasted in this world, and she's better off following us." Kaito answered frankly, "Besides, she would be a good teacher to Ravel-sama, as she aimed to be the doctor of the chat group."

For Kaito, Sumire Miroto's doctor skills are very valuable to have in the base world. 

Especially, she's also very familiar with the Gastrea virus; she is a perfect doctor to take care of the cursed children, as she is certainly an expert on it. Also, she would be a perfect doctor to stay in the base world, as Minaka (Sekirei) still can't be trusted enough, and it's still too early to fully recruit Orochimaru (Naruto) to the base world. 

Both of them have a dangerous background, but Sumire Miroto was a decent person who also happened not to discriminate against cursed children.

"It seems the rumor was true. Is she your favorite girl? Ravel-san."

"No doubt." Kaito nodded seriously, didn't even attempt to deny it, "To make you understand how important she is, I wouldn't be here without her help."

"I see." Kisara nods in understanding, thinking of Kaito seeing Ravel as how she saw her childhood friend, "Then Rentaro and I will do our best to persuade her to join you."

After receiving her answer, Kaito, who had had enough of watching cursed children, stood up, "Well, the portal opens tomorrow, and I know all my friends have started collecting all cursed children."

"Prepare all of your baggage, I believe you guys are going to leave in a week, with the first batch of cursed children."

"Thank you for accepting our request." Kisara was surprised at Kaito's reminder, curiously asked, "...You don't hate us after everything that happened?"

Kaito just shrugged, explained honestly to her, "Hate is a strong word. Dislike is the perfect world to express my opinion about you guys."

"But I know people can change for the better, and I believe both of you can do that."

They were both his friends, and there was no way Kaito would hate them. Kaito does understand that both of this world's protagonists were inherently good people, but they were incompetent and too passive in this world, which made many people dissatisfied with their behavior.

After that, Kaito decided to go down to play with cursed children again... since all of his members decided to give him a time to break, he might as well use it to have fun and make himself feel better.

That's until the immigration of cursed children to the base world started, and Kaito was forced to take a longer vacation in the Akame Ga Kill world.
