Chapter 244: Steamroll

“Who goes there!”

Kong Chuming led a contingent of the Great Li Army, standing in tight formation before the herb garden’s gate. He stared at the approaching tall figure and bellowed.

Lu Bai, with the Five Emperors Gold Coin Sword on his back, announced, “I am Lu Bai, a Captain of the Huben Army’s Fuhu Camp. I was pursuing a member of the Witch Race who controls demonic beings. He fled into this place. I hope you’ll do me the courtesy of handing him over.”

Kong Chuming’s voice was grim. “This is the territory of the Great Li Country. I don’t care who you’re chasing or what your reasons are. You will go no further!”

“So you won’t hand him over?”

Lu Bai shot back.

“Hah…”

Hearing the undisguised threat in Lu Bai’s voice, Kong Chuming sneered and shouted, “And what if I don’t?”

“Then you’ll have to excuse me. I’m coming through to make my arrest!”

With that, Lu Bai moved. Wielding his Cyan Cloud Sword, he charged straight toward the Great Li Army’s formation. The Blood Qi in his body surged like a torrential river, his momentum overwhelming!

“Fire!”

Kong Chuming commanded with a sweep of his arm.

Among the thousand soldiers of the Great Li Army, two hundred archers drew their bowstrings in unison.

The bows curved like full moons, the arrows flew like shooting stars.

SWISH SWISH SWISH!

In an instant, a rain of arrows descended.

They glinted coldly in the night.

Lu Bai stomped his foot, and a burst of golden light erupted from the sole of his boot. The ground trembled and dirt flew as his speed skyrocketed to another level!

Having comprehended the fourth scroll of the Fuyao Skill, Lu Bai’s Body Technique speed was already terrifyingly fast.

Combined with the instantaneous burst from the ‘Vajra Earth Splitting’ technique, his speed reached its absolute peak.

To the onlookers, Lu Bai’s figure became a blur, transforming into a streak of golden light that dodged the volley of arrows and reached the front lines in the blink of an eye!

“Kill!”

The soldiers of the Great Li Army roared, and the front rank thrust their spears toward Lu Bai.

BUZZ!

The sword hummed.

A brilliant, blinding sword light erupted, like the first rays of Dawn dispelling the night, illuminating the world as if it were day.

The Great Li soldiers found the light so piercing they couldn’t bear it.

Some reflexively shut their eyes; others turned their heads to avoid the glare.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

A series of metallic clashes rang out, one after another.

By the time the soldiers reacted, the spears in their hands had all been snapped in two.

SPLURT! SPLURT! SPLURT!

The next moment, wherever the Cyan Cloud Sword’s edge passed, blood sprayed. Countless severed limbs and heads flew through the air.

Lu Bai charged into the formation, leaving a trail of chaos and corpses in his wake!

“AHHHH!”

Miserable screams echoed from within the Great Li Army’s ranks.

Kong Chuming’s pupils contracted at the sight.

Liang Bin, hiding behind the crowd, was also secretly terrified.

In the midst of the crowd, Lu Bai’s figure moved like a roaming dragon, weaving through the countless glinting blades with absolute ease.

Several Long Sabers were clearly about to strike him.

But Lu Bai, as if sensing them, would shift his Body Technique like a willow catkin in the wind—unpredictable, narrowly avoiding the blades before striking back with his sword.

All manner of weapons had clearly sealed his path, yet he always managed to slip through the most fleeting of gaps.

Some Great Li soldiers tried to fight him desperately, trading injury for injury, life for life.

But after they charged, they were the ones who ended up gravely wounded or dead, while Lu Bai remained completely unscathed.

Even with their superior numbers, the Great Li Army couldn’t stop Lu Bai’s ferocious assault when they swarmed him.

After just a few moments, a huge swath of them had been cut down by him instead.

One man, one sword, utterly unstoppable!

“Divine Brilliance Guard, forward!”

Kong Chuming’s face contorted with fury, his eyes nearly splitting at the seams as he roared the command.

‘This man’s killing power is too terrifying. He’s a master of chaotic battle.’

‘That sword truly is an Unparalleled Treasure Artifact. Our Great Li Army’s Tier Two Treasure Artifacts and Armor are useless against it. They’re like paper mache before his blade.’

‘If I let him continue this slaughter, the thousand Great Li soldiers stationed here will be scattered and utterly routed.’

At Kong Chuming’s order, more than a dozen top-tier Innate Realm Martial Artists leaped into the air, wielding their Treasure Artifacts as they surrounded Lu Bai.

Kong Chuming himself wielded a Thick-Backed Saber. His Blood Qi erupted, and four streaks of Blood Prohibition Light bloomed from the blade.

A Top Grade Treasure Artifact!

Although it was a tier lower than an Unparalleled Treasure Artifact, it was still a rare Divine Weapon for the Innate Realm. At the very least, it wouldn’t be easily shattered by one.

Kong Chuming saw his chance and leaped. He swung his arms in a full circle as the Blood Qi roared within him, once again creating the sound of a rushing river.

Innate Twelve Meridians, a Blood Qi River!

The Thick-Backed Saber carved a perfect arc through the air, using the momentum of his descent to slash down at Lu Bai’s head!

This strike was timed perfectly for a moment when Lu Bai had nowhere to dodge and no room to retreat.

Lu Bai blocked with a backhand strike of his Cyan Cloud Sword.

CLANG!

Saber and sword met, sending sparks flying with an ear-piercing shriek of metal.

A powerful tremor ran through Kong Chuming. His arms went numb, and he nearly lost his grip on the Thick-Backed Saber.

HISS!

‘Such incredible strength!’

‘We both have a Blood Qi River, so how can he possess such earth-shattering Divine Power?’

Moreover, Kong Chuming could clearly see that Lu Bai’s Cyan Cloud Sword had chipped a small notch into the blade of his Thick-Backed Saber!

With just one blow, the Thick-Backed Saber was nearly ruined!

Taking advantage of that moment, the dozen or so remaining Divine Brilliance Guard had closed in, forming an encirclement.

The lowest Cultivation among these Divine Brilliance Guard was at the Innate Nine Meridians.

Several were even at the Innate Twelve Meridians, their combat strength far surpassing the other Great Li soldiers.

A cold glint flashed in Kong Chuming’s eyes.

‘As long as I can hold him off for one or two moves, the other Divine Brilliance Guard can seize the opportunity to kill him on the spot!’

In that split second, Kong Chuming was about to withdraw his saber and strike again.

Suddenly, Lu Bai raised a hand and sent a palm strike flying toward him.

‘Let’s see you handle my Palm Force!’

Kong Chuming’s eyes lit up. He channeled his own Palm Force, Blood Qi surging to gather in his palm as he struck out to meet Lu Bai’s.

Earth Tier Martial Technique, Heart-Piercing Palm!

A single palm strike, with force that could penetrate the Internal Organs and pierce the heart!

Even heavy Armor couldn’t block the power of the Heart-Piercing Palm.

“Die,” Lu Bai murmured softly.

Before his voice had even faded, in Kong Chuming’s vision, Lu Bai’s palm seemed to transform into a giant stone monument rising from the earth, radiating an aura that could destroy heaven and earth and suppress all living things!

“What the hell is that?”

Kong Chuming’s eyes widened, but before he could react, their palms collided.

SPLAT! SPLAT! SPLAT!

His entire arm was instantly pulverized, turning into a bloody mist.

The stone monument’s remaining power slammed directly into his body.

BOOM!

Under the gazes of countless onlookers, Kong Chuming was blown to pieces by Lu Bai’s palm strike, dying on the spot!

The dozen or so Divine Brilliance Guard had just rushed forward when they witnessed this horrifying scene. A chill ran down their spines, and their Hearts and Spirits trembled.

‘What kind of monster is he?’

‘They are both Innate Martial Artists, yet he can shatter his opponent with a single palm?’

‘Kong Chuming was the Commander here, and his Armor’s defense was at the level of a Tier Two Top Grade Treasure Artifact. His Cultivation and combat strength were the highest, yet this man killed him with a single palm strike!’

The shock of this scene was too much for the Great Li Army.

He had killed Kong Chuming with one palm as easily as swatting an ant.

The dozen Divine Brilliance Guard were shaken to their core. A slight hesitation appeared in their Body Techniques and attacks.

Just then, their vision was filled by an intensely brilliant, crimson-gold sword light. A myriad of radiant rays shone dazzlingly, leaving no room for anything else in their sight.
