Chapter 4663: Echoes of Divine Revelation

Words couldn’t describe how completely bamboozling the time-travel attack was. Even though he knew about it, even though he had seen it before, it still shook him both physically and metaphorically. It was one thing to have witnessed it used on the battlefield before.

It was another thing entirely to be subject to it. Very rarely did he deal with an attack that completely bypassed his predictions, his awareness, and even his reactions to such an extent; he was extremely unused to it. It reminded him of the time that Tokugawa Ieyasu had used chaos to completely bypass Rui’s systems of thought and prediction in their battle during the East Panamic War.

That was how thoroughly bewildering the attack was in its ability to completely bypass his many, many measures, systems, and methods of precognition and detection. As a Transcendent at a considerably advanced stage of development, he had thought it was impossible for him to be caught off-guard anymore. He had not only his extraordinary physical senses, but even prophecy, the information dimension, and even Autocorpus.

And yet, not a single one of them had been enough to allow him to react to the attack.

But nobody was more shocked than Ria, who had borne witness to the attack from the side.

"What?!" Ria’s expression became one of astonishment. "That—that’s impossible!"

She understood what had happened with just a single glance. Even though Amare moved at speeds that even Ria, with all of her gifts, could barely follow to a partial extent, she had understood that the attack that her mother had launched had a cause in the future.

Her mother had reversed the flow of causality.

And then she did it again.

And again.

And again.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The second blow ravaged his ribs.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The third blow cratered his gut, causing his internal organs to be crushed inside out.

With just three blows, the battle had completely shifted tracks. Rui looked like a normal person had been through a train accident. The front of his body was completely ravaged in a way that made it hard to even look at.

Yet, Amare only charged forth without any qualms, continuously blasting Rui with attack after attack. His tenacity was unparalleled, and his ability to survive was extreme beyond extreme. Even the damage that she had inflicted upon him with a mere three strikes was nowhere near enough to threaten his life, proven by the fact that his body healed them so fast one would have thought he had cast a magic spell.

But the onslaught continued nonetheless. Blow after blow, she knew that she couldn’t let him get away, lest he plan something tricky, using it to overcome her time travel. Even though her ability was overpowered, she didn’t dare underestimate Rui.

In her heart, she firmly believed that there was nothing in this universe that he couldn’t adaptively evolve to. It was one of the reasons she loved him so much, but it was also why she couldn’t let her guard down and take it lightly. Each blow she inflicted was intense enough that it pushed him to the ropes, consuming his resources.

She aimed for that one perfectly timed attack from the future that would cleanly knock him out. However, at the current level of bodily control that he had, even the concept of being knocked out no longer applied to him. He could simply undo the critical brain trauma. If she wanted to win, she would need to incapacitate him or outlast him. Of course, she could also just kill him if she wanted, but that was not an option she considered. He too had lethal trump cards that he kept hidden; this was supposed to be a sparring match or a duel at best, but nothing too serious.

"I’ll just beat him up so good that even he won’t be able to restore himself too easily."

And she meant every word, her palms preparing her Yin-Yang Spear. Despite how simplistic the technique was, in her hands, it was a masterpiece.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Rui experienced the fourth attack from the future, its impact wholly rattling his entire body, propagating through his body, amplified by the Verse of the current Amare. He realized that by traveling her attacks to the past, she was also preserving her present stamina, including phenomenological stamina, on top of having two Martialverses to begin with.

It was an overwhelming trump card that simply defied any sense of balance and fairness. Rui finally understood what it was like to fight him. If this was how helpless many of his opponents felt, then they certainly had his sympathy.

But the grin of pure excitement through the blood was not fake, it had simply emerged subconsciously.

Even though her overpowered time travel was overwhelming, he loved every second of it. He loved his wife for being able to push him to such a degree on an even battlefield. It made him remember how fun their first battle all those decades ago in the Gen Temple had been.

Despite already being quite overwhelming, her attacks only grew more and more overwhelming.

Her future self didn’t just throw simple strikes; she began throwing combos.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!

An onslaught of jabs from the future, overlapping with attacks from the present Amare, who exploited the lapses in his defense against the future to attack him in the present, something that she had just managed to come up with.

Within minutes after the Transcendent phase of the battle had begun, Amare had managed to thoroughly overwhelm him, pushing him to the brink of defeat in a domineering manner, all but moments away from claiming victory.

And with the specter of defeat looming over him, he finally acquired the answer.

"You are not the only one who travels through time."

His voice was euphoric and enlightened, as if a profound epiphany condensed in his mind. His words were surprising, but they were true. In fact, Amare’s time travel was only the second phenomenon of time travel that he had ever experienced in his life. There actually was a form of time travel that every Martial Transcendent was capable of in the entire world.

To project their voice into the future, present, and past, overcoming the shackles of causality and the flow of time itself.

It had always been a curiosity caused by Transcendence, but never anything of practical utility. The voice of a Transcendent promulgated through the information dimension as trans-temporal metaphysical entropy once it crossed back into the rivers of time, unable to so much as even interfere with the fabric of reality.

Yet, in that moment, a single question echoed in his mind.

’What if I can weaponize this ability?’

What if he could ’speak’ to his past self?

Just enough to warn him of the attacks that future Amare was launching at him.

If he could do that, then...

"Then I can win."

His ethereal eye flared with power as the Forge of Creation blazed with life.

A single whisper escaped him as a new technique was birthed into existence.

"E?????c??????h???????o??????e????s??????? ????? o??????f?????? ?????? D??????i???????v??????i???????n?????e??? ????????? R??????e???????v??????e???????l????a?????t?????i???????o????n???????."

RUMBLE!!!!!
