"Our. Sisters. Have. Perished."

In a factional meeting within the War Faction. The projections of many Divine Mothers had gathered, wearing grim and severe expressions. Their eyes were filled with anger, grief, and... a tint of excitement.

"Our. Sisters. May. Have. Perished. But... they. Have. Succeeded. In. Their. Objective. Of. Acquiring. The. Method. For. Administrative. Impunity," the vice leader of the War Faction spoke in an intense tone.

Out of all of them, she was the most displeased by the outcome. The fact that the leader of her faction had personally undertaken this mission and the fact that she and her other five sisters had also been killed was a thoroughly shocking turn of events. The Divine Mother had expected that all six of them would return triumphantly after capturing and killing the Administrators of human civilization.

And yet, when she learned that all six of them, including her exalted leader, had been killed in battle, she couldn’t help but be thoroughly shocked.

And thoroughly outraged.

Her body quivered with pure fury. "Those. Human. Bastards... they. Dared. To kill. Our. Sisters!"

Her pincers clashed against each other intensely.

"We. Will. Crush. Them. With. The. Legacy. Of. That. Our. Sisters. Passed. On. To. Us. With. Their. Dying. Breath!"

Their eyes converged upon a projection featuring the contents of the information pulse that the Mindstitch had passed on to them moments before she had been killed. It documented the method to achieve Administrative impunity.

The secret was shocking; the fact that one created a clone with an identical phenomenology had been truly mind-blowing to each and every single one of them. Yet, they understood that the perceived downside was purely a mortal conception of what identity and life were.

The information was what mattered; this was what all Administrators understood. The mortal vessels of that information and even whether a copy of that information was the original or not, these things didn’t matter.

"It. Will. A. Brief. Period. Of. Time. To. Adapt. This. Method. To. Our. Existences. But. Not. Long," Divine Mother o——o-, the Sovereign of Webs, spoke with a serious voice. "But. Once. That’s. Done. There. Is. One. Thing. That. We. Must. Do. Right. Away."

The vice leader’s eyes flared with violent intensity.

"We. Must. Avenge. Our. Fallen. Sisters."

Her tone grew ferocious.

"We. Must. Annihilate. Human. Civilization!"

The Divine Mothers clashed their pincers in agreement. Nearly every single Divine Mother in what was left of the War Faction was enthusiastic about getting revenge for the death of their leader and their other sisters. Nobody wanted to let human civilization off the hook.

Once Rui returned to immediate reality after all the stunning revelations that he had received, he quickly went about the consolidation of the situation in the solar system and in Gaian Civilization. As the Chancellor of Gaia, he issued a statement regarding the incident, sharing the truth rather straightforwardly. About how six Divine Mothers had invaded human civilization and had sought to acquire a ’technological secret.’

The announcement that each of the six Divine Mothers were dead was one that stunned the citizens of the Solar System and all of humanity. Given that the ambush had caught human civilization, nobody had expected that the attackers would actually be killed before they departed.

"Hahaha! Serves them right for trying to invade our central solar system!"

"That will teach them to mess with us."

"Still... even if they’re dead, it’s still true that this solar system is no longer safe like it used to be."

"So what if they’re dead? What about all the damage that has been done?!"

The reactions were mixed. Although many people celebrated the death of their attackers, it was also true that that victory couldn’t erase the losses.

Millions of people had died from the attack. Although the death toll would have been orders of magnitude higher if not for the fact that the Divine Mothers had come here for a very specific purpose and not mass destruction, and the fact that they needed to hold the solar system hostage to get Rui to remain. It still didn’t make them feel better when they thought of the people that were gone.

But that wasn’t the only loss that human civilization had taken in that battle.

"The World Serpent Jormungandr, who has protected our world for millennia in the Great Nam Ocean and in outer space for another thirteen years, has perished in battle."

This was a loss that was especially painful to many people, especially people in the solar system. The presence of the titanic world serpent floating in outer space, protecting Gaia like a massive planetary fortress shield, brought a sense of security to everybody. He had become a moon to the planet. He could be seen in the night sky many a time, and an entire generation of adolescents had grown up looking up at the serpent that protected them.

His loss was taken even harder than the death of millions of people and the loss of property worth billions.

"Those damn spider aliens... I hate them all."

"Why can’t they just leave us alone? What the hell did we ever do to them?!"

"Maybe we should have expanded slower so that we could build our strength...Y

At the same time, almost as if compensating for the painful costs of the attack from the arakai, the Chancellor of Gaia revealed the birth of several new Transcendents, including Argenton of the tekvores, Mother Maeria of the elves, and Amare of the Panamans. Though two of these had existed for a while, their existence had been hidden during their time as Transcendents, causing a huge uproar to spread across human civilization.

"This time’s incident has been painful and tragic even if victorious," Rui continued his speech with a serious tone of voice. "We have learned that our enemies are even more vicious and ruthless than we ever imagined. And we will be prepared for it next time. Rest assured that they will regret it dearly the next time they dare set foot in our stars."
