The Martial Unity

Chapter 4608: Extraordinary Affinity

Kane heaved a deep breath as he returned to the base dimensions of reality, directing a deep gaze at Rui. "Did you know this would happen?"

Rui shook his head. "I did not. If I had, I would have told you about it."

Rui probably could have foreseen this if he had used Eye of Prophecy, but he hadn’t used it because there hadn’t been a reason to. Unlike the clan of his mother, he was not a full-time prophet. Prophecy was merely a tool in his arsenal of adaptive evolution.

Kane heaved a breath, shaking his head with a resigned expression. "Whatever. If this reduces the probability of me dying in battle, then it’s worth it."

Even with the Twin Winds that he had commissioned from Transcendent Dwight, the battle with the arakai was very intense. The divine children were powerful enough to threaten Martial Corporeals. He knew that a few of his colleagues had already died in battle, and he didn’t want to join their ranks.

Being a Transcendent Candidate and a Corporeal was an extremely powerful combination on top of his law-altered Martial Body and hyperdimensional principles.

"Once you master hyperdimensional Martial Art, your power will likely enter the top ten, certainly the top fifteen. You’re probably stronger than Arastia right now."

The top ten was being squeezed by Transcendents at the moment. This was a trend that was destined to continue because of Transcendence.

The man simply shrugged. He never cared for such titles and ranks. Not since he started a family, anyway. He wanted the war to end so he could go back home. Though he had managed to go back home thanks to Rui calling him back.

Rui, on the other hand, was still lingering on Kane’s candidacy. He had made an interesting connection and had come up with a radical but interesting idea. Kane’s candidacy was undoubtedly a product of an enlightenment that came from diverging laws that resonated well with his Martial Art and Path.

Then, didn’t that mean that Legislation could help Martial Sages become Transcendent Candidates?

He could alter the laws in their body in a manner that was compatible with their Martial Art. For instance, for the Reverend of Reckoning, he could alter the laws of his Martial Body to be super-oriented towards Order. Wouldn’t that greatly help his phenomenology of the world, become even more uniform around the concept of Order?

If Rui’s suspicions were correct, then custom-tailored Legislation could help Transcendent Candidates become Martial Transcendents. That was an extremely exciting notion. One that Rui placed very high on his long list potential/future projects.

Even if it was speculative, he suspected that he was on the right track. And if he was, then human civilization was undoubtedly going to welcome more Transcendents in the future.

He could potentially apply this to the peak pathwalkers of the other races that had yet to break through, except for the Giants. Suneater was still too far away from the Transcendent Realm.

He shook his head, putting these ideas away for a moment. He turned back towards Kane. "Alright, now that you’re hyperdimensional, it’s time to train. I’ll be back in a moment."

He faded away from reality after deactivating his Verse. Half a minute later, he teleported back to the chamber.

"Alright, let’s get started. I’m not going to hold back."

"Heh, bring it on," Kane smirked competitively.

WHOOSH

The two of them shot into action, racing at each other at extraordinary speeds. Their bodies grew less real during motion as they relied on the shorter distances through higher dimensions to reach their destination quicker.

BANG!

Their fists clashed against each other at the moment of collision. Kane threw several blindingly fast jabs at Rui in the base three dimensions.

WHOOSH

Rui didn’t move from his place visually, but his body became less real while Kane’s jabs passed through his body without resistance, indicating Rui had evaded the blow hyperdimensionally.

Rui decided to try something new this time. His body remained intangible. Instead, he simply threw a kick at Kane while his body was still in the higher dimensions. He was aiming at Kane’s hyperdimensional extensions in the higher dimensions. Since they were unified, he would experience damage if the blow made contact.

Kane understood this intuitively, and chose to evade.

Not by motion, but rather by bringing all of his hyperdimensional components into the material world, becoming hyper real.

WHOOSH

Rui’s attack in the higher dimensions hit air, completely missing Kane’s true body. He reacted with an impressed smile.

Kane had taken to higher dimensions like fish to water. While Rui needed six months to build a foundation. Kane’s instinctive affinity with the higher dimensions was so great that he came preloaded with a foundation.

His body transitioned from hyper-real to incorporeal in the blink of an eye, launching an onslaught of speed jabs. Since both of them were incorporeal, their bodies present in higher dimensions, the jabs connected, forcing Rui to block them.

Of course, with his constitution, he could have easily withstood them even without a defense, but he was not testing his toughness; he was testing his mastery of hyperdimensional maneuvering.

And in this particular field, Kane was just incredibly superior to him.

The two of them weren’t going all out. In order to isolate hyperdimensional maneuvering as the prime focus, they had sealed off the other Realms of power, relying exclusively on their Martial Bodies, their maneuvering skills, and hyperdimensional principles to duke it out with each other.

POW POW POW POW POW!

Rui turtled up as Kane became nothing short of a hyperdimensional hurricane of attacks. Even for Rui, keeping up was very difficult. What stunned him the most was that his predictive models on Kane had become completely useless.

Those predictive models had operated with the assumption that reality was three-dimensional. Now with many more dimensions at his disposal, Kane effortlessly defied Rui’s predictions of his movements, causing Rui’s reactions to delay even more.

It was only when Rui realized he might end up losing this little semi-serious sparring session that he stopped holding back with his systems of thought.
