The Martial Unity

Chapter 4601: Realized Stupidity

Being hyperdimensional was profoundly transformative. He truly felt as if he had broken through to a new Realm of power. He could sense the limitless potential in his hyperdimensional Martial Body, limitless potential that he had yet to explore. He stood before it, beholding it like he was gazing at an endless ocean while on the shore.

His perspective of base reality was so different that he felt sorry for his previous self for having lived in such a limited slice of reality. He felt sorry every living being for living in such a limited section of the universe and the true nature of reality. Only he could comprehend all of reality in its grand totality.

That made him superior to other lifeforms. It even made him superior to other Transcendents. It made him feel so powerful that he needed to exert his rationality in order to prevent himself from developing an arrogant god complex. Only the Transcendent Realm was more euphoric and empowering.

Initially, he had considered spending a year in the manifold and simply mastering his hyperdimensional Martial Body before he departed from it. However, the moment he achieved his hyperdimensional state of existence, he knew that this was delusional.

"This is not something that I can master in a short amount of time; it truly is like a Realm of power in that manner."

Realms of power couldn’t be conquered in one go. The Gene Realm took him many years inside the manifold to fully harness and decades in his mind, living through the memories of Anthea that he had inherited it from. Even the Corporeal Realm took years inside the manifold for him to master it when the time came.

Hyperdimensional power was undoubtedly going to be similar. Thankfully, he already had some applications in mind.

"Distance is not the same across hyperdimensional reality."

The shortest distance between two points was a straight line, but a straight line would cut through surfaces if the surface was curved; indeed, the universe was like the surface of a planet, while the higher dimensions were the depths of the planet.

He had already leveraged this principle in his battle with the Divine Mothers, but it had been extremely costly back then. Now, he was confident he could leverage this principle much more efficiently.

His body had also grown more hyperdimensionally dense because of the unification. He could leverage it to hit much harder than he would otherwise be able to, and withstand attacks much more easily than was otherwise possible.

"I could also directly strike their bodies through higher dimensions potentially, making it impossible for them to defend against my attack."

Those were undoubtedly powerful applications of the principles of hyperdimensional reality, but realizing them would take some time, undoubtedly. However, there were certain passive benefits as well. For instance, he was confident that he didn’t need a technique to improve his offensive and defensive power as a result of becoming hyperdimensional. Simply unifying the components of his existence trans-dimensionally was enough for him to achieve his goal.

The movement technique, however, would require practice and training. Something that he gladly welcomed. He immediately began practicing motion through hyperdimensional reality, leveraging it to create a technique that made sense.

It had been a while since he so earnestly practiced a technique that he was this excited for. Hyperdimensional reality was just that full of potential that even he could scarcely imagine. He knew that even the wondrous power that he had gained was just the start. There was so much potential that lay in the mastery of this Realm.

He had already conceived of stealth and surveillance functions; he could imagine how hyperdimensional techniques could be used to help him achieve even greater heights with both. He could also think of more exotic ways in which he could leverage them, including particularly interesting ideas such as using the higher dimensions as a source of energy.

If he could achieve that, then his energy reserves would be at max power at every moment; this was an even more perfect solution than anything he had ever developed before. Not even the Blood of Solaris would compare to how completely perfect this was.

"I could also use it as a permanent storage space," he realized. "I could carry the Armor of Flowing Wisdom with me everywhere I go."

That was truly convenient, if he could achieve it. All of these possibilities only motivated him more than he was already motivated. He continued training earnestly, growing more and more comfortable with hyperdimensional motion with each successive attempt.

His physical stamina was already functionally limitless, but it was his metaphysical stamina that ultimately came to an end. He had already expended so much of it after he Legislated the new boundary conditions of the quantum gauge fields governing his body.

"Wait."

He paused, realizing something that he should have clicked from the moment he conceived of this idea. "My Martial Body will disappear, which means all the effort that I put into Legislating new laws for it will also disappear with it."

Transferring consciousness didn’t transfer the laws of the Martial Body that his consciousness operated. Which meant that this Body would cease to exist and, along with it, all the effort that he had put into altering its laws.

"Damn." His expression grew ugly. "I can’t believe this didn’t hit me until now."

He considered it to be an especially stupid oversight when he thought about all of his efforts being wasted. There was no chance that he could transfer the laws from his hyperdimensional body to his new body.

"Stupid, I got too excited to realize this basic fact," he muttered as he disappeared, transferring his consciousness to another body. "Sigh..."

WHOOSH

When he woke up in a regular body, he realized just how inconvenient this was to his needs. Legislating new bodies each time because his old ones constantly disappeared because of the price of the Verse was way too time-consuming and extravagant. Even when he became a Legislator, it took him too much effort to change the laws governing his body. Doing that over and over would plunder too much of his stamina, leaving him phenomenologically exhausted all the time.
