Chapter 3653: Clingy Greeting

Chapter 3653: Clingy Greeting

Eventually, his discussion with the Mother of Nature and the Divine Doctor came to an end as Rui fleshed out some of the possibilities that they could employ to find the virus.

Just diagnosing the problem fully was this troublesome; he couldn’t even imagine how difficult solving it would actually be. Especially so when he considered the fact that there was a good chance that the problem could not be solved with the cooperation of all civilizations in Gaia.

Regardless, it was not possible to estimate just how difficult it was before they could even solve it, so there wasn’t much point in thinking about this part of the problem at the moment.

STEP

Rui got up from the chair he was seated in, stretching up, before heaving a deep breath. “This has been a fruitful talk. It is good to learn that we have options at our disposal. For now, I can entrust the two of you to do some preliminary testing of these methods over the next year and see which is more practical over the other.”

Mother Maeria and the Divine Doctor nodded at him.

“We will begin with trying out all the flora methods that I have suggested,” Mother Maeria remarked. “For the other methods, however, we will need to bring the therianthropes on board with this plan, or at least Lord Vakratunda.”

Rui wasn’t actually all that opposed to that. Lord Vakratunda was a powerful man, able to critically wound top-ten powerhouses, which was why he had managed to deter the Dragon Emperor from outright conquering the entire continent.

At the same time, he was a remarkably humble man, possessing almost no ego whatsoever. It reminded Rui of his father at times; they were both big on harmony, too. The leader of the Gajanan Clan was also quite wise and intelligent, able to possess a deep understanding of people with just a single glance.

In terms of adding compatriots to their common cause of dealing with Gaia’s sickness and eventually the fear, regardless of whether these were connected or not, he was probably number one on the list.

“Alright, you two have fun while I’m gone. I’ll join in on with the two of you when I’m done with my major project.”

After bidding them goodbye, Rui didn’t teleport back to the Panama Continent directly. Instead, he teleported to the Continent of Kiriket, to the personal quarters where he and Amare had stayed when they were together on the continent.

WHOOSH

He arrived in a room with the familiar style of the architecture of the Gajanan Clan. Large pillars were planted across the room, hoisting the ceiling up, with elephant art carved across their surface.

He turned towards the bedroom with a knowing smile as he spotted a sleeping Amare.

As always, she slept in a messy manner, her long brown hair spread across the entire bed while her arms and legs were all over the place. Her light, soft snores hung in the otherwise silent room, making her all the more adorable in his eyes.

He hadn’t seen her since he teleported her to the Continent of Kiriket, of course. It hadn’t even been that long, but much had happened, making it feel like a week instead of a single day.

He knelt by her side, gently running his finger along her cheek.

“Mmm…” She stirred where she slept, before slowly opening her amber eyes.

They lit up as she beheld Rui before her.

“Rui!”

She lunged at him, wrapping her arms around him tightly as she basked in his presence, melting in his arms. “…You left me on this continent and then just went off for a whole day!”

“Yeah…” Rui winced at those words. “My bad. One of my personal ventures took some time. But I’m back—!”

She pulled a grappling move against him, locking him in her arms before twisting to pull him into the bed with her.

POW

The bed creaked under the weight of the impact, however light as Amare quickly wrapped her legs and arms around him, pressing her face into his chest as she inhaled deeply. “You smell so good…”

Rui heaved a sigh as he indulged his clingy girlfriend, reciprocating her embrace.

Suddenly, she cocked her head back, sniffing at him with a pointed expression. “You… this is how you smelled after you came back from East Genora the first time. You went there again, didn’t you?”

“Guilty as charged. What are you, a dog?”

“What were you doing in East Genora?” she frowned.

“I was meeting up with Mother Maeria,” Rui remarked. “I needed to introduce the Divine Doctor to her.”

Those words confused her. “But why…? What have you been up to in the past day?”

“Well, that’s a long story.” Rui scratched his head.

“You’re not going anywhere,” she growled, tightening her grip around his body. “So you might as well tell me.”

“…Fair enough.”

He quickly narrated his endeavors with the Divine Doctor for a third time in one day after his father and Mother Maeria, describing all the inferences, deductions, and hypotheses they had come up with.

Amare’s amber eyes widened at the sheer weight of the revelations that Rui passed on to her. “This… you’re telling me that all the esoteric matter in the Panama Continent is some kind of organ or apparatus for some alien virus to alter our planet?”

“That is our working hypothesis for now, yes.” Rui nodded. “The truth is that we don’t have much to work with at the moment. It might be that we will need to significantly alter our hypothesis in many ways. But there are some core elements that we are extremely certain about. For example…”

He raised a finger. “…It is nigh impossible for the manifold, the arrival of esoterics, and the Epoch of Evolution occurring simultaneously to be a coincidence. It is technically possible, but it is unfathomably unlikely. So much so that you can safely bet your life on it and not be worried about dying. Another thing that we are quite certain about is that the origin of these connected phenomena is alien, thanks to the alien manifold tree.”
