The Martial Unity

Chapter 3509: Escalating Battle

Chapter 3509: Escalating Battle

The Dragon Emperor roared in pain as he felt a tremendous amount of information flooding his mind spontaneously. Rui’s Martial Embodiment, now indistinguishable from the waters of the ocean, converged upon his mind, threatening to overwhelm it with information.

He had never experienced such an attack in his entire life, forcing him to redirect some of his attention and mind away from his destructive onslaught of gamma radiation against Rui.

The reprieve was exactly what Rui needed; he used the opportunity to stabilize his body from the gamma radiation damage that it had taken, trying to restore his health and healing to a level that was manageable, all while keeping up the fractal hydro lens defense that was perhaps the only thing that separated him from death.

The dragon snarled as he closed his, shaking his head in jerking motions as he tried coping with the flood of information that Rui inflicted upon him. Void of Water was a technique that Rui had invented long ago in his battle with Sage Himari of Sekigahahara Confederate.

He had needed a way to cripple a powerful foe and make it easier for him to combat her strength.

And he found it in the sheer strength of his Martial Embodiment; the information that he could force into the mind of his opponent was great enough to redirect their focus and concentration, which usually meant some degree of a lowering of pressure against him.

In this case, his opponent was a denizen of the true world and hadn’t experienced Martial hypnosis prior, which was what gave Rui the confidence that this technique, when applied in a timely manner, could cripple the Dragon Emperor.

And yet, he had underestimated the Dragon Emperor.

I thought I told you, tricks don’t work on me.”

Rui’s eyes widened as he watched the Dragon Emperor calm down, regaining his composure even as the flood of information coursed through his mind.

The Dragon Emperor’s attention shifted back to Rui with a fearsome gaze as his mind returned to the battle.

My brain is versatile, designed with a lot of capabilities in mind. It is an organoid supercomputer which can do a lot of things, including something that I like to call, ’information mode.’ Although…

His eyes sharpened.

I must admit that I have never used it for this purpose in my entire life.”

Rui’s expression hardened as he realized that the Dragon Emperor was even more resilient and tenacious than he had expected. He knew that it would be extremely difficult to take down the dragon, but to think that one of his trump cards would fall this flat before Lord Shenlong.

I care not to extend this battle beyond its welcome.”

The dragon’s rumbling voice was ominous.

His yellow, reptilian eyes sharpened as they honed in on Rui at the very epicenter of the gamma radiation storm, before charging in a powerful wave of destruction.

His scales kept unleashing powerful gamma radiation that converged upon Rui with his manipulation of space, but this time, he used the momentum of his body in addition to the radiation.

The truth was that while his brain could be directed to handle the flood of information that Rui’s Martial Embodiment was pouring into it, it took away from other functions, increasing the time that completing these tasks took. Rui had managed to survive his gamma storm even when he was unhindered. With his reactions and processing slowed down, he wouldn’t be able to defeat them with physicality alone.

“I will drown you in gamma radiation and crush you with my body!”

WHOOSH!

With a single flap of his wings, his body thrust into the storm of gamma radiation that Rui was submerged in, defending with nothing other than his fractal hydro lens.

And yet, even that was within Rui’s predictions.

WHOOSH

He smoothly side-stepped the charge while maintaining his hydro-lensing, only to find the Dragon Emperor surging towards him with catastrophic momentum and speed.

WHOOSH

He summersaulted out of the way, barely managing to get a fractal hydro lens up in time to deal with a wave of radiation that the tail unleashed. The very next moment, however, the Dragon Emperor lunged as his jaws opened, threatening to snap Rui up in a single bite.

Rui stepped against water itself, evading the dragon’s attempt at consuming him.

However, it wasn’t enough.

From within the depths of the dragon’s jaw, as if in anticipation of Rui’s evasion, a flood of gamma radiation emerged, poisoning the entirety of the world around them.

RUMBLE!!!

“Rgh…!” Rui gritted his teeth as he used his hydro lens to defend as he could.

Unfortunately, the hydro lens technique was a domain, which meant that it was generally not compatible with constant maneuvering. He found himself planted in one location each time he used the technique, giving the Dragon Emperor ample opportunity not only to keep him one place, but also catch up to unleash powerful attacks.

And that was exactly what he did.

The Dragon Emperor’s yellow eyes grew bloodshot, growing orange. His body quivered with power as he flapped his wings, pushing against both water and the very fabric of space and time.

It also unleashed a wave of gamma radiation for thrust, allowing the Dragon Emperor to accelerate to greater extents.

In the blink of an eye, he emerged before Rui, unleashing a sweeping claw strike from his right side.

Rui crouched, kicking off the dragon’s attack to go down.

And yet, he only found himself at the very epicenter of a titanic flood of gamma radiation, forcing Rui to root himself in one spot, creating an opening that lasted just the briefest of moments.

Just enough for the Dragon Emperor to exploit. His tail swung hard and heavy at the rooted Rui, threatening to crush him in one fell swoop. Rui’s eyes widened as he evaded it just a moment too late.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

“Rgh…!” Rui gritted his teeth as just the faintest of contact with the Dragon Emperor’s attack shattered his bones. The sheer amount of force that Lord Shenlong unleashed was so intense that even the faintest contact with it was crushing.

RUMBLE!!!

The world shook as the fissures continued deepening across the ocean floor, spreading farther and farther across the crust.
