Chapter 3445: Potential Turn For War
Chapter 3445: Potential Turn For War
“How have the dark elves taken to the Hive?” Emperor Rael asked as he stood up, meeting her sapphire gaze with his golden eyes. “I imagine the dark elves are pleased to meet a branch of human civilization that is similar to them, are they not?”
“They certainly are,” she replied with a thoughtful tone. “The Hive shares many of our traits and has a degree of collectivization that closely resembles ours. On top of that, the secret to their mind network is a magical esoteric flora species. However, it is regrettable that they have refused to show it to us as of yet.”
The Hive was among the few of the thirteen powerhouses of human civilization that Rui hadn’t visited in his travels across Panama. However, he had been impressed by their power in the Beast Domain.
The Hive was among the most peculiar Sage-level powerhouses in the entire continent. Their fundamental nature made them very different from human civilization, even though they weren’t of a different species. The Emperor of Harmony had predicted that the Hive and the dark elves would get along from the very get-go.
This was why he made it difficult for the two parties to meet until after the Genora-Panama Alliance Treaty was signed. He wanted elven civilization to form a bond with human civilization, not just the Hive. He didn’t care what the dark elves did with the Hive once the alliance was forged.
Fortunately for him, Hive was in North Panama, on the opposite side that they would need to be if they wanted to reach Genora. This wouldn’t have been too big of a deal if not for the fact that they were also in a very tense geopolitical situation, which allowed the Emperor of Harmony to keep Hive away from the dark elves until after.
“Your decision was the best of human civilization.” Mother Alicia’s smile was one of knowing amusement. “It is true that we dark elves would have been less eager to befriend all of human civilization if we had met the Hive first. We would have held all of you to their standard and established a much deeper relationship with them and a lesser one with the rest of you.”
“I know,” the Emperor of Harmony replied coolly. “That is why I poured all of our diplomatic capital into forming an alliance with the dark elves as soon as possible. Making all of an ally was a necessary condition for the future of human civilization. The Hive deepening ties with the dark elves and hopefully cross-breeding to form a genetic bridge between our two species is also a desirable outcome. In fact, given that I will soon be implementing the flora network technology, adapted by our esoteric standards for protection, we look forward to hosting a large population of dark elves in our Beast Domain.”
This was a rather aggressive move of integration if one merely looked at it on the surface. It appeared as though the Emperor of Harmony was hasty in his attempts to deepen elven and human ties.
Mother Alicia quickly understood his intentions, however. “You hope to one day earn dark elven military protection if there are enough members of our civilization on this continent.”
Emperor Rael smiled faintly. “That is an outcome that I’m hoping for, yes.”
Mother Alicia frowned with a hint of surprise.
She didn’t think that the Emperor of Harmony would own it so brazenly. He essentially just admitted to trying to get the dark elves to join the war, something that they hated from the bottom of their hearts.
“Do you blame me?” he raised an eyebrow. “I may have enjoyed our relationship more than I ever expected, but I am still the Supreme Commander of the Panamic Alliance. I will do everything that I must for the sake of my people. That is my resolve.”
She gazed at him with a serious expression before heaving a soft sigh. “Do not underestimate our aversion to war, Rael. We did not wage war on our sisters when we were on good terms. If you think that we will wage war easily for human civilization just because there are tribes of dark elves immigrating to the Panama Continent in search of new exotic flora.”
“Well, we’ll see,” the Emperor of Harmony smiled. “I think that dark elves are… not as averse to war as you might suspect.”
She raised an eyebrow with a dubious expression. “You think you know us better than we know ourselves?”
“Maybe. Maybe not. I think you should be a little bit more open-minded about the truth, that’s all I’m saying. There is no reason for concern, however, considering that we are on the same side. You dark elves have every reason to stick with us ever since I showed you the manifold alien species and the Hive’s mind network flora species.” The Emperor of Harmony’s words were certain.
And she knew that he was completely right on the matter.
The two exotic and even alien plant species were beyond revolutionary to the dark elves.
They were nothing short of miracles among miracles. The entire continent was a seductive treasure trove of exotic treasures, but those two were enough to have the dark elves completely enamored by the possibilities they brought.
The dark elves suspected that the Hive’s special flora species responsible for their mind network could help the dark elves reach Transcendence as discovered by Mother Maeria and passed on to her sister Mother Vyia.
That possibility alone was so strong that it was possible that even the dark elves, out of all people, would go out of their way to engage in conflict to protect human civilization.
The Emperor of Harmony knew that.
He had long-term plans of manipulating the dark elves to eventually break their aversion to war, although even he couldn’t be certain if it would succeed. He knew that he had to at least try for the sake of his people. If the dark elves truly lent their power to human civilization, then the Panama Continent would be secure for the future.
