Chapter 3423: Environment Restrictions

Chapter 3423: Environment Restrictions

“One variable that will be of great help to you is the fact that a lot of beasts and monsters used by a lot of the clans of kiriket have limitations in environment because of the nature of their animal. The most common example of this being kirket Clans centered around aquatic animals. But there are other examples of less extreme restrictions,” she explained. “The animals of Kiriket are not entirely compatible with the volcanic landscape that dragons like to reside within. It is very likely that they will not be able to impede you from attacking the Ryu Clan entirely. This means that even if it is the War Coalition you are facing, your true core enemies will be more isolated than you anticipated.”

Rui’s eyes lit up at those words with an eager nod. “That would be a godsend. I was afraid that I would be facing a literal army of beasts that never ended.”

That was what the Beast Incursion was like, after all. Just an endless wave of beasts who cared about nothing except destroying human civilization. Thankfully, the clans of Kiriket were nothing like the Beast Incursion, and he could count on them being less rabid in their resistance.

“Although the War Coalition is the enemy, the root cause of the enmity is the Ryu Clan and specifically, the Dragon Emperor.” Rui remarked aloud. “I just need to isolate the head and take it out and the problem would largely be solved. Without the Dragon Emperor, the War Coalition would crumble. And with the no other clan standing to guard him from me because of the environmental restrictions of the Ryu Clan in their homeland, I have a pretty solid chance at being able to defeat him.”

“If your goal is to dismantle the War Coalition, then your biggest concern is going to be the retaliation from the War Coalition against the Harmonist Faction until you kill the Dragon Emperor, if you are even capable of that in the first place,” she replied. “The Harmonist Faction is going to be extremely pressured, potentially even destroyed by the time you defeat the Dragon Emperor, assuming you defeat him.”

Rui didn’t like that she framed it as an assumption, but she was right. He wasn’t certain if he could defeat the Dragon Emperor, although he certainly had gone out of his way to make sure that the odds of him defeating the Dragon Emperor were as high as possible.

“If you fail, then the Harmonist Faction will face ruination,” she explained. “You will need their power to keep the War Coalition at bay while you fight the Dragon Emperor one-on-one. You might already know this, but Lord Shenlong has no qualms about using an army to fight a single person to crush them. That is why you need to make sure that the Harmonist Faction can temporarily hold the War Coalition back from rushing to the Dragon Emperor’s aid.”

Rui nodded, keeping his thoughts to himself. “The fact that beasts and monsters have environmental limits is goo,d but…”

His expression grew complicated, “…it’s not going to be easy even then.”

The War Coalition was vastly larger than those who opposed them, making it almost impossible for the latter to hold off the former.

’I’ll have to defeat the Dragon Emperor quickly, then use my Authority to pacify the beasts and the monsters. If not, then the damage will be incalculable.’

The biggest problem was that it wasn’t just enough to eliminate the threat of the Dragon Emperor; he couldn’t afford to drag it out. He could only hope that Amare, along with the most powerful leaders of the Kiriket Clan, were strong enough to deal with the onslaught coming from the War Coalition.

What made it hard was the fact that he previously only intended to make Kiriket not a threat to the Panama Continent, but now he needed to do much more if he wanted to earn the Hlakaschken Trade Empire’s neutrality. The source of this content s novel✶fire.net

He heaved a deep breath, turning to the Whisperer. “Anything else? These two pieces of information have been helpful, but I need more. I’m sure you have other stuff that can be of help.”

“If you’re hoping for a silver bullet that can allow you to instantly solve the Kiriket problem, then I’m afraid you’re mistaken,” she shook her head. “Such a thing does not exist. The therianthropes are one of the six pureblood races that have held their ground for eons. Do you really think that they would have a glaring weakness that others somehow failed to discover in all that time? Of course not. I have details, at most. Details that can help your case, but they cannot do all the heavy lifting for you. If you wish to dismantle the War Coalition, then that will depend entirely on how good your strategic approach is.”

He knew that she was right, of course. He couldn’t possibly expect the intelligence that he got from her to singlehandedly do the work for him.

“What I’m looking for is a deciding factor, information that can help me maximize the probability of things going my way,” Rui explained once more. “Do you have anything else that can work in my favor?”

She heaved a sigh.

“There is credible information that the Dragon Emperor’s requires radiation to survive.”

Rui’s eyes lit up at her words. “That’s useful if true. What is the basis of this belief?”

“The fact that Lord Shenlong almost died when his scales were destroyed,” she remarked. “The radiation that it generates keeps him alive. He was reported needing to use the weaponized radiation lasers inside his body, which are normally used against enemies, to keep himself alive. It appears that he has undergone a mutation that requires his cells to continue absorbing radiation to continue surviving. It’s why his scales are made from a radioactive isotope that is even more indestructible than regular invintium, but is even more radioactive. If you deprive him of radiation, you will at least weaken him.”
