Chapter 3417: Amare-Exclusive
Chapter 3417: Amare-Exclusive
The idea Rui had in mind was quite divergent from normal training methodogies. It was arguably impossible to apply this to anybody else other than Amare given her special traits and talents.
Within minutes, she sat upright on the bed, alert and attentive to what Rui was about to explain to her.
“The principle with which I’m going to have you master high principles through is going to be quite unique,” Rui explained. “It’s also a training methodology that’s going to require my active intervention with you. It’s also going to be applicable to you, and it will allow you to master high principles without needing to go through the usual methods of secluded isolated training with several esoteric resources that are most certainly not portable nor present anywhere in the true world for obvious reasons.”
She nodded vigorously.
“The principle of this training methodology is based on the fact that you have an extraordinary amount of muscle memory within your mind with your own body,” Rui explained patiently. “You have muscle memory with every single action and every single muscle in your body, do you not?”
She nodded. “I do. I have trained every single possible movement possible with the human body as both Amare and as the Omni-Martial. I have lived it over and over again for a long time, giving me extraordinary mastery with all of them, allowing me to have hyper-efficiency.”
“Right, that’s what we’re going to leverage to help you master high principles much faster. Most people need to develop muscle memory with the manipulation that comes with high principles because most people don’t have the absurd ocean of muscle memory with each high principle that you have,” Rui remarked. “That ocean of muscle memory is also what allows you to learn new stuff faster than others, because chances are you have already mastered the necessary movements ahead of time and learning new principles is effectively just using learned movements and actions in different sequences.”
Each Martial Art technique could be broken down into a sequences of actions. Perhaps even an infinite sequence of infinitessimally small actions summated together to create the technique.
Since Amare had all of those small actions mastered, she needed to master the sequences and she would gain mastery over technique. This radically reduced the amount of time that she needed to master techniques, both Martial or of other paths, which was why she had mastered the Nature Path to an extraordinary degree.
“What I have in mind is using a softer version of Soul Retcon on you,” Rui explained with a serious tone. “Soul Retcon functions by ’editing’ muscle memory and replacing it. It cannot create new muscle memory, unfortunately. In your case, I won’t be editing muscle memory of each individual action of a muscle, but I will be editing your familiarity with the sequences.”
Her eyes widened at his words. “…You plan to edit my memories and make more familiar with high principles by putting them in my memories.”
Rui nodded. “And I plan to leave it as is. This way, you can retain those memories. And you will master high principles much, much faster than you would otherwise.”
The outcome attracted her, but she wasn’t the most fond of Rui’s methodologies.
“Soul Retcon cannot be permanent because it would mean that I would some of my other muscle memory, right?” she frowned as she pondered his idea. “Wouldn’t that mean that my other techniques would grow weaker? Even with this supposed weaker version?”
“Yes,” Rui straightforwardly admitted. “But, you have ten thousand years of memories within you. A lot of those memories are more mundane actions and a lot of those memories are the same muscle memory over and over and over with diminishing returns. Tell me, how much would you really lose if you lost a tiny portion of your walking muscle memory of those ten thousand years?”
She remained silent, pondering his idea silently.
“Probably very little, right?” Rui remarked. “I would just convert at most ten years of memories of the ten thousand years of memories you have as Esil. That’s all someone like you needs to master some high principles. Think about it. Ten years out of ten thousand years.”
He shrugged. “That’s nothing. That’s 0.001% of all your memories. It’s actually even less because of the additional hundred years you have lived as Amare. It is negligible and you won’t even notice it gone. I cannot sacrifice ten years of my life because I have only lived for seventy-nine years on this planet. Ten years of my life is a whopping twelve percent. If I made that sacrifice, I would lose a huge chunk of my life. But you…”
His hand caressed the bronze skin of her cheek. “You are a miracle in your own right. For you, those ten years will mean nothing and if sacrificed for power, you will make a huge net gain. That is why I said that only you can apply this method. The fact that you have lived for ten thousand years of experience allows you to make use of Soul Retcon in ways that nobody else possibly can.”
Her eyes lit up at those words as she realized Rui was correct, as he usually was. Ten years was not a big deal, considering how many years she had lived, it was the equivalent of one month in a human being’s life, if not even less.
“What about the identity problem?” She raised an eyebrow. “Another reason that Soul Retcon must be temporary is that if it remains permanent in the long run, you might lose your Enlightenment of Self, right?”
Rui nodded. “Correct, but for you that problem doesn’t exist precisely because of the duplicate memories you have within you. You have lived and relived and relived all of Esil’s life over and over for ten thousand years. Which means that you have many duplicates of all your memories. So even if I retcon one copy of them, you have nine other copies that can anchor you to who you are. The probability of you losing Enlightenment of Self is zero!”
“You’re right…” she realized with amazed excitement. “Only I can possibly make use of this technique without suffering any consequences.”
She turned towards Rui with ecstatic happiness and gratitude, before lunging at him with a powerful hug. “Thank you, Rui! You’re the best!”
