The Martial Unity

Chapter 3255: Forged Alliance

Chapter 3255: Forged Alliance

On a bright morning, many elves and some humans gathered around a table in the Central Forest of the Genora Continent.

The air tingled with anticipation.

The atmosphere was heavy.

On one end was seated a dark elf.

The elven form of Mother Alicia, who served as a representative of the dark elves. Her form reflected her middle-aged self, even if her silver hair hid any hints of aging. Her dark skin was smooth and supple, while her sapphire eyes reflected the wisdom and knowledge that she had accrued across a long, long life.

She donned the finest of formal elven attire, comprised of a single-piece gown with many layers of clothing atop it.

On the other end of the table was seat Rui himself, donning an extravagant Martial attire that bore the crest of the Panamic Alliance. His appearance had been especially groomed for the occasion, as he represented human civilization as a whole.

Before them lay two copies of the same document, the Genora-Panama Alliance Treaty.

There were no flashy ceremonies or formalities.

However, it was a momentous occasion nonetheless.

“As the representative of West Genoran Elven Civilization, I hereby bind our civilization to an alliance with the Panamic Alliance of the Panama Continent,” Mother Alicia spoke with an authoritative tone. “May our alliance bring about prosperity and security for both our civilizations for eons to come.”

Rui smiled.

“As the representative of human civilization, I hereby enter an alliance with West Genoran Elven Civilization,” Rui affirmed. “We will fight for you as if you are our own. May our civilizations remain strong for ages to come.”

The two of them immediately officiated the documents with blood and tree sap, respectively. Rui pricked his thumb, stamping it on both copies of the document while Mother Alicia’s elven form let out tree sap, as a botanical construct containing a piece of her mind.

The moment they completed the officiation, the treaty had been signed and was already in effect.

Human civilization and elven civilization had entered an alliance.

A wave of applause and cheers spread through the gathering of officials on both sides as the alliance was formally and flashily announced across the true world. Both the dark elves and the humans went out of their way to communicate the alliance to each and every single polity that they could reach out to, to inform them of the alliance that had just been finalized.

Naturally, they were eager for the entire world to find out and acknowledge the existence of the alliance between humans and dark elves. After all, the point of the alliance was to deter conflict, for the two civilizations were stronger when they stood together than when they stood alone.

Fifty days had passed since the Unfolding.

Human civilization had finally gotten its hands on an alliance with a superpower in the true world. The dark elves were not necessarily the very strongest, for their power had many conditions and constraints, but having their support meant that it was even less profitable to attack the Panama Continent under the current circumstances.

Of course, the humans knew that this was not enough to stop the Evolutionary Army, the Imperial Tekvorian Federation, and the giants, especially since elves were notorious for their extreme pacifism. However, it was a good start nonetheless.

The alliance was not a small event, either.

It had implications for the geopolitical balance of power that had shifted ever since the Unfolding and the introduction of the Panama Continent to the true world. Each of the polities of the true world would have to reconsider how they would position themselves with the Panama Continent.

It was a sensitive period where far too many polities and powers had yet to decide whether they wanted to be friendly with the humans or become their enemies in the hopes of getting greater gains from military conquest.

It was precisely because he was aware of these calculations that Emperor Rael had hastened the alliance process with the dark elves by letting Rui lead the initiative himself. This was despite the fact that the dark elves were not obligated to come to the military aid of the Panama Continent in the event of an attack, although they were obligated to go above and beyond in every other form of support.

Both Emperor Rael and Rui had calculated that this was beneficial after looking into the history of the dark elves, which they then cross-verified with the captured prisoners of war. Indeed, the fact that simply nobody picked a fight with the elves on a large scale meant that the lopsided conditions would not place such a heavy burden on the Panama Continent.

It was one thing for the Panama Continent to promise coming to the defense of the continent if they were constantly in war, it was much easier to make that promise knowing that it was highly unlikely for it to ever be evoked.

The most useful term of the treaty for human civilization from the dark elves was their cessation of trade with any polity that attacked human civilization, barring a few exceptions. This meant that any polity that wasn’t among those exceptions would need to also face the consequences of losing trade with the dark elves.

This further discourage military action against the Panamic Continent among the more moderate polities, although it would do nothing to stop the giants or the Imperial Tekvorian Federation, or the Evolutionary Army, it would ensure that others didn’t follow in their steps.

This gave human civilization an even greater chance to rope in even more allies who are sensible and create an anti-tekvore-giant-evolutionary power bloc that would collectively corner these hostile polities.

The news of the Genora-Panama Alliance spread across the true world at a rapid pace as the many races and species, pureblood and hybrid, began carefully maneuvering around this new geopolitical phenomenon.

Many entities made preparations for an all-out war that would drown the true world.

Many entities, however, also made preparations for the possibility of peace.
