Chapter 3240: Predictive Suprise
Chapter 3240: Predictive Suprise
His Martial Embodiment blazed across the Forest of War as he unveiled his Martial Mind.
Even then, he was mindful enough to remember using an Embodiment Firewall to ensure he didn’t simply genocide the elven warriors on the spot.
“Rgh…!” the dark elf he fought gritted her teeth as she struggled to withstand the water that coursed through the world.
“It’s an illusion.”
Rui’s tone was calm and composed.
“I’m not surprised that you didn’t realize it yet, considering that hypnosis doesn’t appear to have been weaponized in the true world,” Rui continued. “But none of this is real. This is simply how your subconscious mind is interpreting the information of Martial Art.”
Her eyes widened at those words as she stopped struggling, gazing at her hands, before simply inhaling.
She gasped. “I can breathe!”
“Hypnosis generally doesn’t work on flora lifeforms because their structure of intelligence and cognition functions entirely differently from that of creatures in the plant kingdom,” Rui informed her generously. “So you’re better off relying on flora to navigate my Embodiment.”
She closed her eyes as she began communicating with the flora network, before her eyes opened, widening with surprise. “You’re right, the trees don’t register the water or anything like that. I can continue fighting with no issues!”
Rui’s tranquil smile grew wry.
“I’m afraid this battle is already over.”
“Wha—!”
WHOOSH
Before she could even react, Rui arrived behind her.
BAM!
With a simple chop and greatly restrained power, he simply knocked her out then and there.
THUD
She collapsed, falling from the sky unconscious, as branches of trees rose to catch her, free-falling from the sky, gently cushioning her descent warmly.
“It was a good fight,” Rui remarked. “You were strong.”
He had hoped to be able to beat her with his Martial Heart alone, but as expected, it was too difficult to do so. If anything, it was miraculous that one with a Martial Heart alone was able to last as long in the battle as he did against her.
His gaze shifted deeper into the Forest of War as his eyes lit up with anticipation.
He knew that the woman he had faced was most certainly not the strongest of dark elven warriors.
He had yet to see the pinnacle of what the elves were capable of.
WHOOSH!
RUMBLE!!!
The world shook as he launched himself forth with great speed and power, exceeding even that of lightning as he picked up the pace.
Now that he had activated the Martial Mind, he needed to make each moment count, even if he had the Blood of Solaris, he didn’t want to extend the time he spent with his Realms active for too long.
“Halt your ascent, outsider!”
“You shall go no further!”
“Do not desecrate this forest any longer!”
Several elven warriors emerged from the forest with sharp glares that converged on Rui.
And yet, he simply surged forth with even the slightest hesitation as his eyes lit up with curiosity.
The dark elves gritted their teeth. “Attack!”
BOOOOOM!!!
Rui’s eyes lit up with anticipation as he felt a greater mobilization of power than anything he had felt with any of the elves before.
They were just manipulating the flora.
They manipulated the landscape that came with it.
RUMBLE!!!
Land itself rose even as the flora enlarged as it had before, surging towards him with destructive momentum and power.
The trees were energized with even greater power than ever before as wood grew and expanded at blinding speed, shaking heaven with the sheer friction of their explosive attacks.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!!!
The branches, leaves, and roots were not just much faster than before, but they were also much more precise and accurate.
And yet, with his Martial Mind active, he had access to a much greater portion of his power than he did before.
“Muspelheim.”
RUMBLE!!!!!
The world shook as the realm of fire emerged around him, and the fiery domain of tremendous power descended around him, igniting the wood around him with great heat.
Much to his surprise, however, the wood did not simply burst into flames.
Instead, they grew even stronger and faster in their momentum and power.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!
He blasted the wood with his Yin-Yang Spears as he frowned.
“It can absorb the energy of fire, really?”
The dark elves sneered at him. “Did you really think that we wouldn’t do something to tackle the biggest weakness of flora and vegetation? All plants and trees in the Genoran Continent are genetically modified to be able to absorb heat and fire and turn into chemical energy that can be directly used by them.”
It even affected his Yin-Yang Spear to a certain extent, although it couldn’t absorb those macro-vibrations as well as he feared it could.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!
Rui bobbed and weaved as he maneuvered, evading the boundless attacks that converged on him with great speed and power.
THWOOM THWOOM THWOOM THWOOM THWOOM!!!
He fired numerous Mighty Roar Flash Blasts at the incoming wood and leaf projectiles as he pondered how he ought to go about it.
However, much to his surprise, all of his attacks missed.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!
His eyes widened as his perfectly timed attacks were simply evaded by the wood that seemed to have conscious intention. His eyes sharpened as he balled his fists with Yin-Yang Spears, before launching a myriad of attacks against his enemies, creating a flurry of powerful blows that could reduce each mountain ranges to rubble.
And yet, again, the branches, roots, and even the leaves evaded his attacks with perfect timing.
Almost as if they knew exactly where he was going to be.
WHOOSH
He leaped away, only to find a spike emerging from the ground at exactly where he intended to land.
His eyes widened with realization.
“They’re predicting me.”
His gaze shifted towards his opponents as he studied their minds with his mind sense.
It wasn’t them.
Their reaction speed was too low, as usual, to possibly keep up with him.
