Chapter 3073: Fire
Chapter 3073: Fire
The news of not just the invasion but the sheer scale of invasion permeated through human civilization like an earthquake, causing a maelstrom of alarm and horror among the leaders of humanity. To know that an alien civilization of the true world had decided to mount an all-out attack upon the Esocline Federation was chilling.
The sheer brashness of their enemies was troubling for far too many nations, especially those in the geographical vicinity of the Esocline Federation, which had promptly declared a national emergency and ordered the full evacuation of all its citizens.
The closer a nation was to the Esocline Federation, the more danger it was in.
The political class of human civilization gritted its teeth even as the rapidly invading force of the Imperial Tekvorian Federation approached the Esocline Federation.
“Shift all of our modular siege weapons to artillery mode,” the grave voice of the Esoterist remarked. “We won’t be making the same mistake as last time.”
Last time, the alien aircraft had used powerful defensive gravitational technology to nullify all energy attacks like plasma rays and the lasers into a powerful accretion disk that negated any danger from the powerful barrage of the Esocline Federation.
It had been a humiliating experience for the Federation to have its offensive siege technology so effortlessly dismantled.
“Mobilize our missile technology and activate our underwater offensive technology just in case they have forces coming from the sea as per protocol,” he rapidly issued commands to the Department of Defense of his cohesive state.”
His expression crumpled with determination.
“Let’s show those tekvore bastards that they can’t just fuck with us.”
Tekvore was what they managed to identify the entity using their subconscious non-verbal evaluation.
The Imperial Tekvorian Federation was thus likely a civilization of the tekvores.
However, they hadn’t managed to identify whether the identity of tekvore was an ethnicity, race, or perhaps even a species.
Regardless, it didn’t matter.
“They’re our enemies, and that’s all that matters.”
It was in moments like this that the Esoterist was painfully reminded of the fact that it was the weakest Sage-level powerhouse in existence. It wasn’t as powerful in war as the Sage-level powerhouses were due to the fact that Martial Sages truly were the most powerful combat entities in human civilization and offensive weapons of mass destruction simply struggled to match them, and that too in very specific circumstances.
The Esocline Federation had gained a lot more political power and influence in the past few years due to the fact that the Esoterist was one of the two pillars of salvation of human civilization and the fact that the Esocline Federation controlled most of human satellite technology while also harboring cutting-edge technology.
However, when it came to pure raw military power, it was inferior and less flexible than its peers.
This time, however, he was determined to prove that the Esocline Federation was a force to reckon with, having studied the data that they had gotten from the previous battle and studying some of the technological paradigms of the Tekvore that they had captured allowed them to orient their strategic approach against it much better.
RUMBLE…
The world shook as the Esocline Federation underwent a profound transformation from the ground up as the state entered wartime mode.
The core of the nation was secured in a powerful energy shield that protected it with great intensity, even if it was an extremely energy-hungry technological defensive system. The automated transportation system shut down as all individual machines operating autonomously shut down and entered a secure state to minimize damage from the incoming conflict.
The countless siege weapons mounted within and across the entire nation and its borders.
They all pointed to the Northern Great Nam Ocean, awaiting the mighty invasion force to reach striking range. They had undergone the modular shifts in mode of siege, designed to be less easy to manipulate.
No longer would they be facing ductile light but rather powerful blasts of pure solid esoteric matter designed to utter annihilate their crafts.
The missile systems of the Esocline Federation rapidly mobilized as countless missile launchers across the border of the nation rapidly mobilized. With the recently deployed satellite systems, the Esocline Federation had come to increasingly favor missile systems over siege technology for long-range targeting due to the fact that satellites allowed for guided trajectories and active propulsion systems to adjust their trajectories over long distances with changes in positions as measured by satellites.
This increased the accuracy and precision of attacks over great distances far more than anything that siege weapons could.
A myriad of different technological systems and weapons were mobilized across the Esocline Federation, far more so than any Sage-level powerhouse could even dream of having.
That wasn’t all.
VMMM!
The Martial MECHAs of the nation emerged once more as they stationed themselves upon the launchpads at the very edge of the territory facing the oceans, awaiting their dread enemies to arrive.
Along with them were the dozens and hundreds of Martial Sages and Masters respectively from the Kandrian Empire who stood with grim severity as they waited from the enemy to arrive from a great distance away.
Compared to the thousands of incoming crafts as monitored by satellite and radar feeds, their numbers were significantly smaller. The only hope was that the impressive offensive and defensive technologies of the Esocline Federation would be enough.
RUMBLE…
Within an impressive timeframe of half an hour, all offensive and defensive technological systems were rapidly mobilized and on standby while all Martial Artists that were available were rapidly deployed at the very edge of Esocline territory, awaiting their enemy.
They didn’t have to wait too long.
“Enemy fleet has entered missile strike range.”
“Activating long-range targeting systems.”
“Activating missile systems.”
“Targeting confirmed.”
“Activation confirmed.”
The Esoterist heaved a deep breath, standing within the Strategic Command Center in the very core of the nation.
Around him were a myriad officers and officials over control terminals of some of the most powerful weapons systems of human civilization.
His eyes sharpened with intensity.
“Fire.”
And all hell broke loose.
