Ye Mo was slightly perplexed. What was the point of buying 10 throwing knives?

“If I tell you to buy it, do it. If not for insufficient league points, I would have told you to buy 20. Come on, pick 10 throwing knives, the smaller, the better.”

The throwing knives on the walls came in different shapes and sizes. Ye Mo followed Ling’er’s instructions, picking out 10 of the smallest knives before leaving the hall.

With another 5000 league points deducted from his mission card, Ye Mo was now left with 2000 league points.

In the woods of the Outer League Spirit Mountain, there was an empty area with no one around. Ye Mo took plenty of effort in finding this place.

“Ling’er, what is the point of these 10 throwing knives?”

“The Technique of Interchangeability is strong because of the element of change. The technique that you displayed before only took slight advantage of speed, but not change.”

Ling’er jumped straight out from Ye Mo’s Energy Center and sat on a huge rock, cross-legged.

“You can come out now?” asked Ye Mo, surprised.

“Ever since my spirit was repaired. But the Qingyun League is filled with strong fighters, I dare not come out recklessly. There is no one around now, so I am out for some fresh air. Hand the knives to me.”

Ling’er reached out her palm to receive the throwing knives from Ye Mo.

Ye Mo took out all 10 of the knives from his Dimensional Bracelet and handed them to her.

“Brother Ye Mo, be careful now. Today’s training journey is going to be a rough one. I will shoot these knives out now. In order to pass, you have to catch it. The punishment for failure will be finding all the knives and returning them back to me.”

As Ling’er spoke, she grabbed one of the throwing knives. With a swipe of her hand, the only thing that could be seen was a glow piercing through the air. Even the shadow of the throwing knife was gone.

“What is going on?” Ye Mo blinked his eyes, puzzled.

“Fool! Go and get the knife back. You have to be alert at all times to see if I’m in position to throw out the knife!” Ling’er reprimanded Ye Mo profusely.

Ye Mo took a long time before finally finding and returning the throwing knife back to Ling’er.

“Be careful this time!”

Ling’er’s expression turned serious, and she prepared to shoot out another throwing knife. Ye Mo’s job was to chase after the throwing knife and catch it the moment Ling’er shot it out in rapid speed.

This required Ye Mo to be faster than the speed of a throwing knife!

Shoo!

A silver glow shone, forming a ray of light. At the same time, the sound of the ground exploding could be heard. With a flick of his leg, Ye Mo also became a shadow, impossible to follow by the naked eye as he chased after the throwing knife.

Ye Mo’s legs had 60 rays of Giant Dragon Power each, his rapid speed faster than a throwing knife.

“Caught it!” Ye Mo reached his hand out, instantly catching the throwing knife.

“Haha, Ling’er, see that? I caught the knife!”

The knife that Ye Mo was now playing with in his hand was caught by him less than a hundred yards away.

Ye Mo returned to Ling’er once more. Ling’er, sitting on the giant rock, cross-legged, said, “Don’t get complacent. This time, I will be shooting out two throwing knives in two different directions. You have to catch both of them.”

Simultaneously catching two throwing knives traveling in different directions was going to be even more difficult than before.

Even Ye Mo’s expression turned sour. This level of difficulty was challenging the limits of his speed.

“Get ready!”

Ling’er grabbed two throwing knives in one hand and threw them in two different directions. Ye Mo shot out like a cannonball towards the knives. However, after grabbing hold of the first knife and deciding to change direction for the other, the shadow of the second knife was gone.

“Again!” Ling’er encouraged loudly.

The second time saw some improvements from Ye Mo. While he did not catch the second knife, he was on track to chase it down.

“Again!”

Ye Mo refused to give up, making attempt after attempt. Half a day flew by as he tried catching those knives.

At night, in the silent forest, he continued training!

Shoo! Shoo! Shoo!

That was the sound of three throwing knives piercing through the air, traveling in three different directions.

A strange scene began to unfold. Three shadows appeared in all the three directions, catching all the throwing knives simultaneously. Two shadows disappeared as the third one caught the three throwing knives with one hand.

After half a day’s worth of hard work, Ye Mo finally mastered the technique, catching all three throwing knives at the same time.

The three shadows were not replications, but an illusion caused by how quickly Ye Mo was moving.

Only Ye Mo, well trained in the Technique of Interchangeability, could do something like that.

A crisp clapping sound could be heard. Ling’er jumped down straight on the giant rock.

“Brother Ye Mo, who would’ve thought that you were able to train to the level of three shadows so quickly. Training to five shadows by tomorrow will be quite possible now.”

Three days hurried by as Ye Mo prepared to attend the Outer League Member Examination. He wanted to display his impressive strength. He was certain that he would be noticed by the Qingyun League; his chances of winning at the Legal Division would increase by a notch.

However, he could not expose the secret of the Rising Dragon Pillar. As Ling’er had said, the moment he revealed his outstanding strength, the elites in the Qingyun League would do a check-up on his body. He would be in deep trouble the moment the Rising Dragon Pillar was discovered.

Detecting Ye Mo’s concern, Ling’er snapped her fingers a few times as she smile and said, “Brother Ye Mo, I have the solution to make sure you never have to worry about the strong fighters using true energy to check within your Energy Center.”

“What is your solution?”

“I just remembered that there is a type of seal that can separate true energy. So long as I use this seal to cover up the Rising Dragon Pillar, your Energy Center will be the same as that of any normal person. As for me, don’t even worry about them discovering me. So long as they are not fighters in the Transcendence Realm, feel free to display your Giant Dragon Powers,” said Ling’er.

“That’s right. So long as no one detects my Rising Dragon Pillar, if anyone asks, I will just say that I trained a weird martial technique which resulted in miraculous changes to my body.”

Ye Mo thought deeply. Unless his power levels were to the extent that he could hold no regard for his opponent, the secret of the Rising Dragon Pillar could never be exposed.

“Your strength have reached the Energy Shaping Realm, and you meet certain standards in Pill Cultivating Techniques and Seal Techniques. I predict that those older people will give their all to fight for you,” Ling’er said, covering her petite mouth.

“Actually, your guidance is all I need for my training. However, in order to have an easier life at the Qingyun League, I need to find someone who will back me.”

“That goes without saying!” Ling’er smiled gleefully, sitting on the flying carpet-like seal and shaking her snowy white thighs. “But if you can get on the good side of the elders, your training resources will increase as well. You don’t have much time left. You need to quickly become a chief to attract the Master or the Chief’s attention.”

“I understand. I will shock everyone present at the Outer League Member Examination tomorrow!”
