The Martial Doctor
Chapter 632 - 485: Lin Miao Takes Action (Part 3)
If she wakes up, she must replenish with food, but having been hungry for so long, her stomach is not suited for hard food; liquid food is best.
Vegetable meat porridge not only provides energy but also replenishes protein and is easier to digest.
"Young lady, who are you?"
"My name is Ling Yu’Er, you can just call me Yu’Er." Ling Yu’Er put down the vegetable meat porridge and said, "You’ve just recovered from a fever, your body is weak, drink this bowl of vegetable meat porridge."
"Miss Yu’Er, can you tell me where this place is and why I am here?" Su Yi asked weakly.
"This is Xue Family Manor, the quarantine and treatment point for the ’Maya epidemic’ set by the government outside the city. You were sent here by Mr. Wen." Ling Yu’Er explained.
"Mr. Wen?"
"He is Mr. Wen Ruyu, the chief of the Dongshan Prefecture Medical Bureau."
"Wen Ruyu?" Su Yi exclaimed in surprise; she knew Wen Ruyu, after all, the famous closed-door disciple of Mr. Fu from the capital. Her health is not good, and she once thought of seeking treatment from Mr. Fu, but he was not someone she could meet just because she wanted to.
As a second choice, she wanted to have Wen Ruyu take a look, but his reputation wasn’t very good, so despite arranging several times, she never seemed to meet him.
But she has met Wen Ruyu.
It’s just that Wen Ruyu may not recognize her as their social circles are different.
She is her father’s little strategist, and her father tells her about matters happening in the court. She knew about Wen Ruyu’s appointment in Dongshan.
"What about Mr. Wen? We are old acquaintances, can he come to see me?" Su Yi presumed the voice she heard during her confusion was Wen Ruyu’s.
"Mr. Wen is in the city treating ’Maya epidemic’ patients at the quarantine treatment point. Miss Su might have to wait until you recover to see him." Ling Yu’Er said.
Hearing this, Su Yi couldn’t help but frown; if it wasn’t Wen Ruyu, then who was the man speaking in her room earlier?
Additionally, intermittently, she seemed to recall some things in her mind, though she hadn’t seen, she could feel it.
"Miss Yu’Er, where are my clothes?"
"Taken to be washed and disinfected, they’ll be returned to you later." Ling Yu’Er said, "Miss Su, the porridge is getting cold, you should eat it quickly; you need to replenish nutrients the most now."
"Okay." Su Yi momentarily tossed aside the images in her head, picked up the porridge, and drank it slowly.
"By the way, Miss Su, how did you contract the ’Maya epidemic,’ do you remember?" Ling Yu’Er asked.
"I don’t know, I arrived in Dongshan City ten days ago."
"Ten days ago, so where are you from?"
"The capital, I’ve come to Dongshan to seek relatives." Su Yi instinctively didn’t speak the truth; even Wen Ruyu didn’t recognize her, so she believed no one here knew her identity.
"The ’Maya epidemic’ has an incubation period of 7 to 14 days, some might extend, but not beyond twenty days; when did you start having fever and headache?"
"Three days ago, now it should count as four days ago." Su Yi calculated.
"So, you might have been infected before coming to Dongshan, and you’re staying at the Yuelai Inn; currently only you are infected with ’Maya epidemic,’ meaning you brought it from outside Dongshan. Where did you go in Dongshan, and who did you meet?" Ling Yu’Er took out paper and pen, asking and noting seriously.
"Well..." Su Yi’s spoon paused, hesitating a little; on this journey, except for the beginning when she was alone until she was kidnapped by a few bandits, nearly losing her purity, and met Guan Biyun, who saved her, she then traveled to Dongshan with Guan Biyun.
She was infected, but what about ’Guan Biyun’; in fact, Guan Biyun didn’t present evidence to her, using the name ’Baiyun.’
After Baiyun arrived in Dongshan, they separated, and later Baiyun sent someone saying a temporary job was arranged for her; even if she couldn’t find relatives in Dongshan, she could have a meal.
Back then, she refused because she wanted to meet her father; she also vaguely remembered the job Baiyun introduced was at a restaurant.
What kind of restaurant has women serve, making her instinctively feel unreliable, hence politely declined.
What was the restaurant’s name...
Huaye Tower!
It sounds like an improper place, like a place doing that kind of business.
"We just want to know how you were infected as this concerns many people’s names, Miss Su, please do not conceal!" Ling Yu’Er had a commanding presence, mature beyond her years.
"I only know her as Baiyun, she rescued me from bandits, and along this journey, we ate and stayed together, then separated after reaching Dongshan. She later sent someone, saying she arranged a job for me..."
"So, you suspect Baiyun intentionally approached you, causing you to contract the ’Maya epidemic’?"
"I’m not sure, but I am indeed unfamiliar with her; it might also be those bandits who caught me, they have a big possibility..." Su Yi, known as the ’capital’s talented woman,’ naturally possessed some wisdom.
Though she was in contact with ’Baiyun’ for the longest, the bandits also had physical contact; theoretically, being infected by them was normal.
When Baiyun saved her, her condition wasn’t good, which Su Yi could perceive, thus internally suspecting the bandits who kidnapped her might be more likely.
The problem is, Baiyun merely chased them away, didn’t capture anyone, and neither wanted to complicate things, hence didn’t inquire about their identities in detail.
"You suspect the kidnapper group?"
"Yes, after getting caught, I was taken to a broken temple, and Baiyun was already in it. Seeing Baiyun not too old and somewhat pretty, they teased, but Baiyun didn’t want trouble until their leader spoke disrespectfully, angering Baiyun to act; I merely was saved by her hand." Su Yi described the rescue process simply.
"Days ago?"
"About three days earlier, the night we arrived in Dongshan."
"Alright, I’ve noted it. Rest well, don’t leave this room; if you want to, wear a mask when going out, and remember to wash your hands and disinfect upon return; mask cases are at the door, we’ll collect, disinfect, and clean them." Ling Yu’Er instructed before leaving.
