The Magnificent Son-in-law
Chapter 1391 - 1391: Is This Melon Guaranteed to Be Ripe?
Xiao Feng's one question in return completely shut down everything Yao Qianxue was about to say.
What do you mean "too much"?
Plainly put, it's just the "cause" and the "effect" – the psychological gap between the two is too big.
Like, two total strangers walking down the street, A steps on B's foot.
B curses A out, people might think he's making a fuss over nothing, but they still won't think he's over the line, since A was the one in the wrong first.
But if after A steps on B's foot, B doesn't say a word, just whips out a knife and stabs A in the gut several times, that's something people can't accept.
The same logic applies here.
The reason Yao Qianxue feels Xiao Feng went too far, is because him flicking the cigarette butt into Black Tiger's mouth went beyond what she could handle mentally.
Of course, this is separate from mental toughness, you can't lump it all together.
But how would Yao Qianxue know that this way of doing things is already Xiao Feng being pretty polite.
Compared to broken arms, broken legs, or even getting killed, shoving a cigarette butt in his mouth is already easy mode.
"Motherfucker!"
Black Tiger dry-heaved for a bit, then grabbed the trash can by the road and strode toward Xiao Feng.
Normally, with this kind of neighborhood conflict, someone should be rushing to break it up, but right now nobody dares to step in.
Xiao Feng stayed calm, paused the music, and rolled the window up.
Then, he opened the door, got out of the car, and snapped a kick straight into Black Tiger's stomach.
"Clang!"
"Bang!"
The trash can and Black Tiger went flying together, landing three meters away.
Garbage scattered all over the road, and just by sheer coincidence, a bloodstained tissue got caught by the wind, lazily drifting down onto… Black Tiger's face.
In the crowd, a kid being held in his grandpa's arms pointed at Black Tiger and broke the silence: "Grandpa, Uncle Black got beaten and is bleeding."
That innocent remark stunned everyone, then their expressions all turned wonderfully colorful.
After a long moment, someone finally couldn't hold it in anymore and let out a snort of laughter.
Then, one after another, everyone failed to keep a straight face and started laughing out loud.
The kid tilted his head, all confused, wondering where the grown-ups' laugh point was.
But at his age, it was clearly beyond his understanding.
Just then, the auntie rushed to Black Tiger's side, threw the bloodstained tissue away, and asked anxiously, "Little Tiger, Little Tiger, are you okay?"
The brat next to them also ran up, crying as he asked, "Daddy, what happened to you?"
Hearing that, Xiao Feng really wanted to ask back: kid, are you blind?
But then he thought about it and decided there was no need to fuss with a little kid.
He already beat up the kid's dad; if he didn't even spare the son, people would definitely criticize him if word got out.
"I—cough, cough, cough… I'm fine." Black Tiger gritted his teeth and stood up, the look in his eyes practically blazing with fire.
In this line of work, the most important thing is face.
If he loses face this badly right at his doorstep and can't get it back, then Black Tiger might as well stop mixing on the streets.
But obviously he couldn't beat the guy in front of him right now, so he could only wait for his boys to show up.
As he was thinking this, a shout came from the back of the crowd: "Everyone move!"
The crowd turned and saw three electric scooters ride up one after another, two guys on each.
The people automatically moved aside to make way, and the six of them got off with baseball bats in hand, coming up to Black Tiger.
"Tiger Bro, we going straight to hitting or what?" asked a skinny guy with really long hair.
Black Tiger pointed at Xiao Feng and said, "You decide on the spot, this punk's probably trained a bit, so be careful."
The long-haired guy nodded and waved his hand, and the five behind him immediately followed as the group walked toward Xiao Feng.
"We talking with our fists first, or settling this peacefully?" the long-haired guy asked.
Xiao Feng shrugged. "Either way, you pick."
"Yo, acting pretty cocky, huh." One of them rolled up his sleeves, revealing half a tattoo, and cursed, "Do you even fucking know who you're talking to?"
Xiao Feng, finding it boring, shook his head and turned his gaze to the rubberneckers, grinning: "Let me do a little dog-barking impression for everyone."
All the onlookers were instantly dumbfounded, not getting what was going on.
Is this some roundabout way of backing down?
Meanwhile, the long-haired guy's crew of six all folded their arms, looking like they were waiting to watch a good show.
"Ahem." Xiao Feng cleared his throat, then pointed at the long-haired guy in front of him and said, "Do you even fucking know who you're talking to?"
Everyone present froze at the same time. That line sounded awfully familiar.
Xiao Feng then looked at the rubberneckers and smiled. "Okay, I'm done. So, what do you think, does my dog-barking impression sound realistic?"
At this point, the quick-witted ones had already caught on, but didn't dare respond.
The slower ones couldn't help feeling puzzled inside, but were too embarrassed to ask the people around them.
A moment later, Xiao Feng shook his head. "Guess I didn't nail it. I'll bark a couple more lines, everyone listen… ahem… Yo, acting pretty cocky, huh."
He finished and asked excitedly, "How about now? I'm at least a bit closer, right?"
"You're fucking looking for death!" the long-haired guy yelled angrily.
The rubberneckers suddenly all got it: he said he was going to imitate dog-barking, then repeated what these punks had said.
He was clearly saying that these punks were just barking like dogs earlier…
This way of cursing people really opened their eyes!
With that thought, the crowd's gaze toward Xiao Feng all changed.
"Get him!" The long-haired guy, feeling his face was gone, roared and took the lead, swinging his baseball bat down at Xiao Feng's head.
Xiao Feng didn't dodge or step back, waiting until the guy got close before sidestepping once, then casually grabbing a fistful of his hair.
"Ah!" The long-haired guy screamed in pain.
The five behind him instantly stopped in their tracks when they saw this.
Xiao Feng chuckled. "If your skills suck, don't keep your hair this long. You're just asking to…"
He was still talking when he caught a flash of viciousness in the guy's eyes out of the corner of his eye!
The long-haired guy suddenly squatted down, swinging the bat at Xiao Feng's knee.
The crowd went slack-jawed as they stared at the fake scalp in Xiao Feng's hand, at a loss for words.
To be honest, Xiao Feng hadn't seen that coming either.
Just from how smooth those moves were, this guy must've used this trick to screw a lot of people.
Of course, this kind of sneaky move is one-shot only, and can only be used on strangers.
If it's someone who knows you, they already know you're bald and won't fall for it.
Right now, all the punks were grinning.
But just when they thought Xiao Feng was definitely about to eat that swing…
"Smack!"
The baseball bat was pinned under Xiao Feng's foot, and the bald guy half-crouching on the ground looked utterly stunned.
Xiao Feng reached out and rubbed the bald head next to him, then rapped his knuckles—index and middle fingers—twice on it, and asked the punks in front of him, "This melon… guaranteed ripe?"
One punk who knew the old gag reflexively answered, "I can even sell it to you…"
Halfway through his sentence, his words cut off abruptly as he clearly realized something was wrong.
Right then, the bald guy suddenly wrapped his arms around Xiao Feng's legs and shouted, "Get him!"
The punks all swarmed in, clearly unwilling to let this golden opportunity slip.
Xiao Feng just smiled, curled his thumb and middle finger, and brought them to his lips, blowing a breath on them.
Then…
A crisp head flick landed.
"Tock!"
"Ah!" The bald guy cried out in pain, letting go with both hands and hurriedly clutching his head.
Xiao Feng laughed. "So you sold me an unripe little melon, huh? Zero honesty in business."
The onlookers glanced at each other when they heard that, all dumbfounded.
Joking around at a time like this—does he really have that much confidence, or is he blindly optimistic?
The answer came a second later.
Xiao Feng's figure flashed as he dashed a loop around the five of them…
Five cries of pain rang out almost simultaneously, and then they all squatted down like the bald guy, clutching their heads, faces twisted in agony!
