The Magnificent Son-in-law
Chapter 1186 - 1186: Ruthless Jin Bongjin
A startled scream instantly silenced the entire audience, drawing everyone's attention.
Xiao Feng and Pei Dengke were no exception. But upon seeing the waitress who had fallen to the ground, taking off her shoes, Xiao Feng was stunned: "Jiang Mixue?"
"Brother Ba, you know her?" Pei Dengke asked, somewhat surprised.
"Yeah." Xiao Feng nodded, "She happened to be in the same car as me when I arrived, and she was Jiangcheng's top scorer on the college entrance exam."
"So impressive?"
Just as the words fell, a stout man with a gold chain around his neck stood up angrily, rushed over to Jiang Mixue, and slapped her.
"啪!"
Jiang Mixue was bewildered by the slap, her eyes revealing a hint of confusion.
The man angrily shouted, "Do you know how damn expensive this pot of soup is?
Listen carefully; just one ounce of meat costs over three thousand, the soup contains half a pound of meat, at least fifteen thousand, can you afford that?"
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to…" Jiang Mixue covered her cheek, tears welling in her eyes, ready to fall at any moment.
However, before she could finish speaking, the man grasped her neck and cursed: "Let me tell you, if you don't pay today, I'm going to kill you, got it?"
Jiang Mixue's face showed pain, her eyes instinctively looking towards Xiao Feng.
Xiao Feng's eyes flashed with anger, ready to get up immediately, but was stopped by Pei Dengke beside him.
"Brother Ba, don't move. Let me handle this!"
Leaving a sentence behind, Pei Dengke picked up a bottle of white liquor from the table and walked with an air of recklessness toward the man with the gold chain, smashing it on his head without a word.
"砰!"
The bottle shattered.
"Ahhhhh!" The man immediately staggered back several steps, letting out a piercing scream.
His head was already split open, and the sting of the liquor nearly made him faint.
Xiao Feng stood up, walked over to Jiang Mixue, and tried to help her up but wasn't very successful. She looked like she was suffering from a burn, unable to walk temporarily.
With no other choice, Xiao Feng bent down to carry her toward the shop for some emergency burn treatment.
"Uncle Xiao, you... Hiss..." Jiang Mixue blushed and had just said a few words when a sharp pain from her foot made her suck in a breath.
Xiao Feng, thinking she was still worried about the outside situation, smiled gently: "Don't worry, there's someone helping with that."
"Okay." Jiang Mixue nodded in agreement, saying no more, her face turning even redder.
Entering the store, Xiao Feng headed straight to the restroom, turned on the faucet, and gestured for Jiang Mixue to put her foot under the running water.
Fortunately, Jiang Mixue had removed her shoes and socks promptly, saving a lot of trouble, though this position was quite embarrassing.
"Hiss..."
Feeling a pricking pain, Jiang Mixue sucked in a breath again, glimpsing herself in the mirror, immediately closing her eyes, too embarrassed to look.
Thankfully, Xiao Feng was holding her sideways; if he had been holding her from behind, she would have resembled a child not yet able to walk, being supported... Ahem.
After rinsing for a few minutes, Xiao Feng carried Jiang Mixue out of the restroom, placed her on a chair, then found a half bag of salt from the kitchen, poured it into a basin with warm water, and brought it to Jiang Mixue.
"Dip your foot in."
"Mm." Jiang Mixue obediently nodded, putting her foot in.
The instant her feet were submerged, she felt an intense pain.
Jiang Mixue's delicate body shivered, grabbing Xiao Feng's arm, sweating from her forehead: "Uncle Xiao, how long do I soak?"
"One or two hours." Xiao Feng replied casually, walking toward the door.
Judging by his observation, Jiang Mixue's burn wasn't severe, so there was no need for hospital treatment.
Outside, the crowd was growing larger.
Passersby, couples out for a stroll, even diners across the street temporarily abandoned their meals, gathering to watch the commotion, numbering into the hundreds.
"Isn't that Jin Bongjin?"
"Jin Bongjin? What a name."
"Mind your words, this guy's notorious, watch out, the young man is in trouble."
The onlookers, eating snacks, discussed fervently.
Leaning against the door, completely blending into the crowd, Xiao Feng used his keen hearing to learn some stories about Jin Bongjin.
This person was in the loan shark business, having done many unscrupulous things in the past.
Like offering loans to people in need without mentioning interest but forcibly collecting it later.
After suffering a few losses, he became somewhat restrained but grew bigger, gathering idle people as enforcers.
Yet, the reason Jin Bongjin was deemed "notorious" wasn't due to fighting or any deadly incident, but purely for his ruthless heart!
Jin Bongjin had a bedridden mother, whom he never visited while she was alive; it was always his sister caring for her, with neighbors occasionally bringing clothes and food.
After his mother's passing, he returned to fight his sister over the house, claiming their mother intended for it to be his wedding home.
What truly infuriated others was his grin at his mother's funeral, smiling as he sent her off. When criticized, he explained he was happy for her, no longer bedridden.
"Call the police, hurry!"
Jin Bongjin stopped his subordinates from attacking Pei Dengke, pointed at him, and shouted to the crowd: "It's this kid who broke my head, everyone be a witness!"
"And when you slapped that girl earlier, why didn't you mention hitting someone?" Pei Dengke retorted coldly.
But Jin Bongjin ignored him, clutching his head, "I'm no good, dizzy, call an ambulance quick!"
Having said that, he leaned back against his subordinates.
Pei Dengke stepped forward with a smile, "Head hurts, eh? Open your eyes and tell me, how many fingers is this?"
He waved a fist in front of Jin Bongjin as he spoke.
"Do you have any respect for the law?" a tall and slender man stepped up, blocking Jin Bongjin, and angrily said, "With so many people watching, dare you hit anyone?"
Pei Dengke almost laughed, "You saw me, and were blind when this bastard assaulted someone?"
"Watch your mouth, try insulting again!"
Pei Dengke defiantly retorted, "I did insult you, what then?"
"You…you…" The tall man clutched his chest, staggered back three steps, gasping heavily, feigning a heart attack.
Xiao Feng frowned, thinking they were loan sharks but it seemed more like a scam gang.
Pei Dengke paused, then sneered, "Three seconds to stand or I'll make you see how many fingers this is."
As he spoke, he began flexing his wrists, indicating readiness to fight anytime.
