The Mage's 5 Fated Alphas (BL)
Chapter 73: Selling Pill
Moon chuckled at her words.
This was something Vadira had informed her about.
"Why didn’t you keep Marina with you?" he asked instead.
"She grew up in the pack, and her father, as you know, helped you to flee. He will eventually have a dispute. It’s just a matter of time. After you left, there were many rounds of inspection. And my place is something guards will check first. I didn’t want people to know she is my daughter."
Moon raised his brows.
He still didn’t understand if this was for Marina’s sake or Maggi’s.
"I am a banished woman from the Vance pack. Vadira’s superiors know of my existence. If something happens to him, they will come to me next."
"So? You will not keep her here?" Moon asked the main question.
Margarita seemed to be embarrassed.
She fidgeted a little, then said softly, "He wants you to take her with you."
"And what about you? What do you think about your daughter running around with a bunch of defective fugitives?" Moon scoffed.
He really started to doubt the intelligence of the people in this world.
And not to mention, he couldn’t even find his own shelter—how could people think he could take in a little girl?
"I will make it up to you. She is wolf-less—but this is not right, because I had a wolf spirit, and so did Vadira. Although my wolf spirit is broken and sealed, I still believe she should have one. We just need to wait till she reaches the right age."
Moon silently heard her out, letting her finish.
"I heard you can revive a wolf spirit." At last, she revealed her true intention.
Moon exhaled.
So, from beginning to end, it was this same reason for all his disasters. ’He can revive a wolf spirit.’
He looked at Axe, Nox, and Ugo, who were looking at the ceiling guiltily, like they were deaf.
He felt very amused, yet irritated.
"I can’t revive anything," he said curtly.
Margarita didn’t waver.
She looked into Moon’s eyes and said firmly, "You can. Or else he would never risk Marina’s life."
Moon felt really helpless.
Looking at his face, Margarita also felt a twinge of guilt. She coughed and took out some papers. "You came to the city to do business, right? I will help you. I have many connections here."
Moon shrugged.
"I want to know about the academies and the admissions. Also, the process they use to select candidates."
Margarita’s hand paused as she looked up at Moon.
"Yes? I can give you information, but don’t be disheartened, as admission is close at hand, and..." Her eyes fell on Axe, Ugo, and Nox. Then, she continued, "They don’t have their wolf spirits yet." She finished.
"You don’t have to think about that. I will see if we can manage to enter. If not, that’s fine, too."
Margarita nodded and asked, "Where are you living now? Do you need a courtyard on the city outskirts?" she said, though her face clearly dismissed the idea.
Moon chuckled.
"Maybe we will just buy a courtyard with a random name, but we will not stay there. You don’t have to worry about that."
Margarita didn’t ask more. Since they had managed to survive all these days, they must have had their own way.
"Good. I will buy it for you. Please take care of her." She pushed Marina to Moon’s side.
Moon again felt a headache coming, just by thinking that he had to raise a daughter now.
But soon, his worry vanished.
The girl was not really what he thought, and definitely not one to worry about.
Instead, half an hour later, when Moon and his group came out of the merchant hall into the market, it was Marina who led them.
She was like a fish in the water and smooth in her path and route. She had some familiar people here, too.
Moon was relieved.
They soon parted into two groups.
Axe and Ugo went to sell the goods they had brought out from the Lost Realm, while Moon and Nox went to find a seed and pill shop with Marina.
Oshan was nowhere to be seen, as he had his own work.
"Don’t worry, Brother Moon, my mom is very good. She will find out everything soon by nightfall," Marina said as she walked beside Moon.
"Um, I just need to know the academy stuff."
"My mom can even get the inside story. There was once a boy who went berserk and tore the headmaster’s pants. Hehehe!" Saying this, Marina burst into laughter.
Nox also started to laugh.
Moon found these two quite a match.
His mood was good. It would not be bad to spend his days like this—worry-free, and with laughter and traveling.
But he had enough experience to know this laughter and this moment were just a drop in the ocean, soon to be lost in a mountain-high storm.
They approached an open apothecary stall run by an old man with a crooked nose. Moon unslung his satchel and took out a little vial.
The vial was tightly shut, so nothing could be seen from the outside.
Nox leaned on the counter and whispered, "Can we sell some goods here?"
The old man glared at him. "Stand straight, young man. This is not your resting place."
Nox chuckled as stood properly.
"Don’t be angry, old man," he lowered his voice to some degree and then said, "We really have something you don’t want to miss."
The old man’s eyes narrowed at the vial in Moon’s hand. It was not a rare thing for people to come with some precious things here to sell. And maximum times, it was from theft or robbery.
A proper master would not come here.
He spread his hand to get the vial.
Nox shook his head. "No, mate, we need a private place to check this out."
The old man looked at Nox, then turned away, disappearing inside an adjacent room.
