The Mage's 5 Fated Alphas (BL)
Chapter 51: Fight together
As soon as the word fell, two figures slid down from the boulder.
Not directly underneath.
But their own way.
Oshan looked back at the young, muscular figure hanging on the cliff, gripping the plain stone wall with iron nails and an extended blade under his boot, sliding down from one boulder rack to another, and his lips curved up.
"Not a bad companion for a while."
His own rope was sturdy enough to grip the rocks.
His hand shot up to hook another one as he slowly slid down to where the scavengers were now lifting their heads, sensing the sounds and the whistling wind.
.
.
.
Axe was not as relaxed as he seemed on the surface.
In fact, his stomach was churning and his heart was in turmoil.
His grip on the rock was urgent.
He slid down as his nails dragged against the stone, leaving a bloody trail on his fingers.
He had mastered this iron fist since childhood. If it were not so urgent, he would never show this to a stranger he had just found less than an hour ago behind the boulder.
He knew this man might want to harm them, and his target was probably Moon and Nox. And it was the same reason he had approached him.
An enemy always has a better track of his enemy.
And he needed to find Moon and Nox quickly.
As soon as possible.
He had left Rio and Leo in the secret realm. His negligence would surely enrage Moon.
But it had already been three days since they left without a word.
Rio and Leo both woke up and suddenly started to tear into each other and fight. Their tiny wolf forms left Axe in sheer bewilderment as to what to do.
In the end, he lost track of them too.
He messed things up in real time.
The only thing he could hope now was that the secret realm was safe, and his foolish, idiotic, troublesome wolf brothers would be alive by the time he found Moon.
He was not one to pamper any pup to begin with, not to mention those two were fake pups.
Two utterly grown-up asses turned into pups.
Axe didn’t know how to treat them.
Only Moon or Ugo could fix this trouble.
He slid down to the edge opposite the scavengers and pounced on the water.
His palm slammed onto the black water surface, awakening a hidden inscription he had set up stealthily earlier.
This was a piece Moon had left in the pouch—an easy witchcraft tool to use water vapor to make fog and trap enemies in an illusion.
"Fuck! Traitor," Axe heard a curse beside him.
He shoved a vial into the cursing man’s hand and slashed at the scavenger who had closed the distance and was about to pounce.
"Don’t make a sound. You want them to track us?" He hissed.
Then both of them became deathly silent.
The black fog was slowly rising high.
It was an utter gamble.
The black fog could also corrode their lungs, but Axe had faith that he would find Moon, and Moon would definitely have a way out to save his poor lungs.
He sped up his pace on the edge.
Clutching onto the rock wall, he passed the deep gorge water pool and went near the cracked rock.
From the fog, shrieks and slashes could be heard from time to time. Oshan was also making his way to the crack.
The pungent smell of another beast massacre tainted the Black Sea Gorge again.
Just as they were about to enter the crack, a huge, giant scavenger rushed out—angrier and more rabid than the other ones.
Oshan sprang forward, his rope making a quick round in the air as it tightened around the scavenger’s neck. He hacked the monster down, and Axe jumped up onto its head, his boot’s blade leaving a deep wound in its brain matter.
But the beast didn’t give up.
It threw them down to the floor and lunged at Axe. Oshan threw his red poison shell needle into its back.
As the beast howled in pain, Axe’s machete glinted in the sun.
His body became a blur of speed, and the next moment, the scavenger’s belly was slitted in half.
Bad blood splattered on them.
Oshan gagged, but his hand didn’t miss the chance to throw another needle into the scavenger’s throat.
It struggled hard for a few seconds, and its big body fell to the ground.
Seizing the opportunity, Oshan and Axe both ran toward the crack. They entered one after another.
Behind them, a few living scavengers gave chase, but they were faster.
One was a veteran hunter who was an expert on shadow-traversing; another was a sealed war wolf who thrived on the battlefield.
They cut through the beasts, making their own bloody way to the cave inside, where five different paths loomed before them like a challenge.
Axe looked at Oshan. "Which one do you want to take?"
Oshan looked at the five dark entrances and asked, "Do you have more elixir to slow down death?"
Axe threw another vial.
He acted generous because he had noticed earlier that this man had some tracking ability.
Oshan took the elixir and stood still, as if contemplating which way to go.
"Hurry up, you old man, it’s not your backyard," Axe hissed.
"Fourth one," Oshan said.
"You first." Axe lifted his chin.
Oshan chuckled and entered the tunnel.
Axe followed suit.
Behind them, the howling and growling finally stopped, as if that was the last stop the bloody scavengers could reach.
The tunnel was damp and wet. Axe hated this path, but he still needed to go.
He was sure Moon had used this crack. He had found Moon’s scent in the air as well as some residual fighting traces.
The fact that this strange hunter had also been eyeing this exact place only confirmed his suspicion.
The road gradually started to get wider, and some strange light was flickering on the black rock wall. It was as if there was a path for sunlight, but Axe didn’t see any crack or any roof that could send the light inside.
As they were walking, suddenly Oshan vanished into thin air from the front. Before Axe could back up, he also slid downward.
"Damn." Only this word left Axe’s mouth as the dark hole swallowed them down.
