The Mage's 5 Fated Alphas (BL)
Chapter 159: Come sleep with me
Next, he refined more fasting and rejuvenation pills, followed by several batches of restoration, nourishing, and healing pills.
Every pill came out either high-grade or mid-grade. After learning how to use soul dew, his technique had improved considerably, allowing him to refine pills more efficiently and at a much faster pace.
By the time the afternoon had barely passed, jade bottles and ordinary vials were already piled up around him.
Moon finally took a break and rested for an hour.
Then he sat down before the furnace again and prepared to refine his first calming hallucination pill.
He carefully examined the ingredients arranged on the stone platform.
It was already night, but he had no intention of stopping.
But he had to.
Before Moon could fire up the cauldron again, the pond stirred.
Ugo emerged with his clothes completely soaked. Water trickled down his sculpted abs, following the lines of his waist before disappearing beneath his clinging trousers.
His wet shirt had ridden up, leaving little to the imagination.
Moon looked at the perfectly shaped man standing before him and felt a headache coming on.
’I’m definitely asking Lupine to change the location of the teleportation array.’
He rubbed his eyes and sighed.
"You’re still refining?" Ugo asked as he wrung the water from his shirt. The wet fabric had ridden up, leaving his waist completely exposed.
Moon took a glance, then quickly cast a drying spell on him to prevent any further unintentional display.
Ugo’s expression faltered when his clothes suddenly dried. He pulled his shirt down and straightened it before approaching Moon.
With a soft thud, he placed a storage bag on the rock.
"I found something for you," he murmured.
Then he lowered his head and kissed Moon on the lips.
Moon froze.
Why did this scene feel so familiar?
Hadn’t Axe done the same thing when he had come to see him?
Remembering what had happened afterward, Moon’s ears turned red. He hurriedly pushed Ugo’s chest away.
"Okay, okay. Thank you. I need to refine now, so go back and sleep."
Ugo’s expression darkened for a moment, but before Moon could notice, he suppressed his irritation and replaced it with his usual gentleness.
He leaned down and stole another kiss before finally stepping back.
"I’ll rest here for a while. You can continue refining, but don’t tire yourself too much. We don’t have to enter the academy or awaken our wolves this full moon. We can leave everything to fate."
He spoke softly before sitting down on the grass.
Moon watched him for a while. Then wondered, ’Does he really not care about awakening his wolf?’
He turned his attention to the storage bag.
As he opened it, he found the herbs Ugo had gathered for the face-altering and transformation pills. There were also several beast cores, far more than he had expected.
Moon’s eyes brightened.
Ugo had saved him a great deal of trouble.
When he looked up again, Ugo was already lying on the grass with one arm beneath his head.
Meanwhile, Ugo wasn’t nearly as calm as he appeared.
He had said those things only because he didn’t want Moon to exhaust himself.
Deep down, he was still looking forward to the full moon, especially the moment Moon would finally begin his soul contract.
However, he had learned from Lupine that Master RuYi had suffered an accident and might not return for another month. Knowing how much it had affected Moon, Ugo had refrained from asking about the contract.
Still, he couldn’t help feeling lost.
He missed his little snake, and he missed Moon’s warmth.
Lately, Moon seemed so detached that Ugo wasn’t sure how to approach him without adding to his worries.
He twisted and turned on the grass, trying to fall asleep, but his thoughts wouldn’t settle.
Finally, he sat up and looked toward Moon, who was still busy preparing the herbs.
"Mooney, I can’t sleep. Come sleep with me." He said in a deep voice.
Moon hesitated before walking over and sitting beside him.
"Move a little."
Ugo didn’t move.
He yanked Moon down to his chest, pulling him closer into his arms.
His embrace was warm and soft. Moon buried his face against Ugo’s chest.
Ugo placed a hand against Moon’s back and summoned his plant essence. A faint, refreshing scent of cedarwood and damp grass spread around them.
Moon was surprised. "What’s that?"
Ugo chuckled but didn’t answer. Instead, a faint, soothing energy spread over their skin. "Relax, Mooney. Let me help you a little." He murmured.
Moon closed his eyes and allowed Ugo to guide his essence.
Soon Ugo’s lips found Moon’s, and he opened Moon’s mouth. But he didn’t kiss like a hungry wolf this time.
He kissed and sent warm feelings that resembled morning dew on the grass.
The warmth slowly spread through his body, easing some of the exhaustion he had accumulated from refining pills for hours.
"This is your healing ability?" Moon murmured as he pushed Ugo’s face to breathe.
"Hmm. I’ve had it since I was little." Ugo’s fingers gently stroked his back. "I can do more, but you’re tired. I don’t want to disturb your refining."
Moon hummed and nestled closer against his chest.
For a while, neither of them spoke.
Ugo lowered his head and rested his chin against Moon’s hair.
After a while, Moon finally lifted his head.
"I need to continue refining."
Ugo’s arms tightened around him for a brief moment before he reluctantly let go.
"Can’t you sleep a little?"
Moon stared at him.
Ugo looked at Moon with a hint of grievance. "Just for a little while."
Moon felt conflicted and amused.
’Is he acting spoiled right now?’ he mused.
But seeing Ugo’s expression, he eventually gave in. He settled on him, allowing Ugo to pull him into his arms once more.
"Only for a while," Moon warned.
"Umm."
Ugo kissed him. He stroked his hair and held him close. He wanted to ask for more, but for now, having Moon in his arms was enough.
When dawn was approaching, Moon woke up.
Ugo was still sleeping deeply, his breathing slow and steady. One arm rested loosely across the empty space where Moon had been.
